The Analyst, Loan Servicing (Audit & Regulatory Specialist) serves as the central point of coordination between Credit Servicing business units and internal auditors, external auditors, regulators, investors, and other assurance parties. The role manages audit communications, information requests, evidence, deliverables, findings, and remediation activities throughout the audit lifecycle, ensuring submissions are accurate, complete, responsive, and delivered within established deadlines.

This position maintains centralized visibility over active audits, outstanding requests, audit results, findings, and management action plans. The Analyst prepares and reviews audit evidence and reports, records and maintains findings in Predict360, monitors remediation progress, validates completed corrective actions, and recommends findings for closure when sufficient evidence demonstrates that remediation has been implemented and is operating effectively. The role also helps management and business owners understand audit results, associated risks, root causes, and required corrective actions while promoting accountability, transparency, and ongoing audit readiness. The position works hybrid and reports to Oriental Center in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the primary business liaison for internal audits, external audits, regulatory examinations, investor reviews, and other assurance activities involving Credit Servicing.
  • Coordinate the complete audit lifecycle, including planning, kickoff and status meetings, information requests, fieldwork, management responses, closing activities, and follow-up.
  • Assign requests to the appropriate business owners, establish and negotiate practical deadlines, monitor progress, clarify scope, and escalate delays or risks while preserving audit independence.
  • Gather, review, organize, and submit documentation, reports, data, process narratives, and other evidence; independently locate source information or develop schedules, reconciliations, and supporting analyses when necessary.
  • Perform quality reviews to ensure audit submissions are accurate, complete, relevant, internally consistent, appropriately approved, and responsive to the request.
  • Maintain centralized and traceable records of audit requests, evidence, correspondence, responses, approvals, findings, decisions, and remediation activities.
  • Analyze audit observations and findings and communicate their purpose, underlying risk, business impact, root cause, and required corrective actions to management and business owners.
  • Record and maintain findings, management responses, action plans, owners, due dates, extensions, status updates, and supporting documentation in Predict360.
  • Monitor open findings, remediation milestones, dependencies, aging, and completion dates; follow up with action owners and escalate overdue, stalled, incomplete, or potentially ineffective remediation.
  • Review and challenge action plans for clarity, feasibility, timeliness, responsiveness to root cause, and alignment with the audit finding.
  • Perform or coordinate validation testing, document results and conclusions, and recommend completion or closure when sufficient evidence demonstrates that corrective actions are operating as intended.
  • Maintain dashboards, status reports, and executive summaries covering active audits, outstanding requests, open findings, remediation progress, upcoming deadlines, and key risks.
  • Identify recurring findings, common root causes, control weaknesses, and process-improvement opportunities, and maintain audit procedures, request trackers, evidence standards, templates, and communication protocols.
  • Promote accountability, transparency, timely remediation, effective issue management, and a sustainable culture of audit readiness.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
