ROLE SUMMARY 

We are seeking an FP&A Analyst for American Campus Communities (ACC), a Blackstone Real Estate portfolio company and the largest owner, manager and developer of high-quality student housing communities in the United States. This role is based in Bengaluru, India and is hired through Revantage India. 

The FP&A Analyst supports ACC’s financial planning, forecasting, management reporting and portfolio analysis activities as a member of the Bengaluru-based FP&A team. Working under the direction of the Director – FP&A and in close coordination with US-based FP&A leadership, the Analyst is responsible for preparing accurate and timely financial analyses, forecasts, reporting and related deliverables for onshore review. 

The role operates within ACC’s integrated Oracle EPM/Fusion planning environment and supports recurring planning and reporting processes, financial and operating variance analysis, model maintenance and data-quality activities. The FP&A Analyst is expected to develop a strong understanding of ACC’s business and operating drivers, identify meaningful trends and exceptions, and deliver well-supported analysis in accordance with established processes, timelines and review standards. 

Primary Role 

• Prepare recurring forecasts, budgets, financial projections and management reporting in accordance with established FP&A processes, assumptions and timelines and under the direction of the Director – FP&A. 

• Perform analysis of portfolio and property-level performance, including actual-to-budget and forecast variances, operating drivers, trends and exceptions, and clearly document findings for review by FP&A leadership. 

• Prepare financial and non-financial information for monthly management reporting, ensuring supporting data, calculations and commentary are complete, accurate and consistent with established reporting standards. 

• Maintain assigned planning models, assumptions, reports and supporting schedules within Oracle EPM/Fusion, following established model structures, driver logic and governance standards. 

• Use Excel and other analytical tools to validate financial information, investigate variances, support ad hoc analysis and provide an effective audit layer for information maintained within Oracle EPM/Fusion. 

• Perform data-quality and reconciliation procedures across Oracle EPM/Fusion and relevant operational, leasing and accounting source systems; investigate discrepancies and escalate unresolved issues as appropriate. 

• Support recurring budgeting, forecasting and reporting calendars by completing assigned deliverables on time, proactively identifying missing information, dependencies or other risks to timely completion. 

• Work closely with US-based FP&A, Operations, Leasing & Marketing, Accounting and other stakeholders to obtain complete and accurate information required for financial planning, reporting and analysis. 

• Maintain clear documentation of recurring analyses, model inputs, assumptions and supporting workpapers to ensure consistency, transparency and continuity across the offshore-to-onshore handoff. 

• Identify opportunities to improve recurring analyses, reporting and planning processes, including opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve the use of Oracle EPM/Fusion, Excel, AI and other automation capabilities. 

• Maintain strong working knowledge of Oracle EPM/Fusion planning functionality, Excel and other analytical tools used by the FP&A function. 

• Work from the Bengaluru office under the hybrid working model, with working hours aligned to provide meaningful daily overlap with US business hours; flexibility is expected during budgeting, forecasting, month-end reporting and other peak planning cycles. 

• Perform other projects and responsibilities as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS 

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration or a related field is required; MBA, CA, CMA or other relevant advanced qualification is preferred. 

• Two to four years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, financial analysis, management reporting or a related finance role; experience within a large, multi-entity organization is preferred. 

• Strong understanding of core FP&A concepts, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, financial statement analysis and management reporting. 

• Advanced Excel skills, including experience working with large data sets, financial models, lookups, pivot tables and other analytical functions. 

• Experience with Oracle EPM, Hyperion, Anaplan, Workday Adaptive Planning or another enterprise planning platform is preferred; direct Oracle EPM/Fusion experience is a strong advantage. 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends, investigate discrepancies and translate financial data into clear findings. 

• High attention to detail and demonstrated ability to produce accurate work within recurring reporting and planning deadlines. 

• Ability to work effectively within established processes and review standards while exercising sound judgment regarding when to resolve issues independently and when to escalate. 

• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple recurring deliverables and changing priorities. 

• Clear written and verbal communication skills in business English, with the ability to document assumptions, explain financial variances and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across time zones. 

• Demonstrated curiosity about business performance and the ability to develop an understanding of operating drivers beyond the financial statements. 

• Experience with real estate, property-level financial analysis, student housing or another asset-intensive operating business is preferred but not required. 

• Comfortable working in a team environment with a structured offshore-to-onshore handoff model and regular interaction with US-based FP&A leadership and business stakeholders.
