What you'll do:

As a Process Transformation and Control Analyst or Assistant Vice President based in Hong Kong, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive self-inspections across banking operations. Your day-to-day activities will involve reviewing procedures for compliance, identifying control gaps, developing new inspection items tailored to emerging risks, and following up on corrective actions. You will also play a key role in maintaining strong stakeholder relationships—both internally within various departments and externally with partners—to ensure seamless communication. In addition to supporting risk profile management through operational controls, you will assist with procedural updates aligned with regulatory requirements. Preparing detailed reports and presentations forms part of your remit as you share insights with management. Success in this role requires attention to detail, reliability in completing tasks on schedule, proactive engagement with colleagues during user discussions or process revamps, and a commitment to continuous learning about industry developments.

  • Perform self-inspections according to procedures and guidelines established by Head Office, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy in all assessments.
  • Develop ad hoc inspection items aimed at strengthening operational controls and addressing potential risks not covered by standard inspections.
  • Review operations and procedures regularly to ensure full compliance with internal rules, operating instructions, manuals, and circulars.
  • Identify weaknesses, deficiencies, irregularities, and control gaps during inspections, reporting findings promptly to Management for action.
  • Follow up on inspection findings by reviewing corrective actions taken by relevant departments to ensure issues are resolved effectively.
  • Monitor the inspection schedule closely to guarantee that all self-inspection items are completed accurately and within designated timelines.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders both within the organisation and with external parties to facilitate effective communication and cooperation.
  • Support the management of departmental risk profiles by contributing to operational controls and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Assist in developing and updating procedures so they remain compliant with applicable regulations and internal requirements.
  • Prepare ad hoc departmental reports and presentations that clearly communicate findings, recommendations, and progress updates.
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of industry trends, banking products, laws, regulations, and best practices relevant to the department's activities.
  • Adhere strictly to all company policies and guidelines while carrying out daily responsibilities.

What you bring:

  • Degree holder with proven academic credentials relevant to banking or finance.
  • For Analyst level: Minimum 2 years of experience in banking operations or related fields
  • For Assistant Vice President level: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience demonstrating depth of knowledge.
  • Well-versed in banking operations including first line of defence business risk management; general risk management experience is also suitable.
  • Experience in internal inspection or internal audit is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is highly valued.
  • Mature approach combined with collaborative spirit enables you to work effectively as part of a team focused on shared goals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills allow you to convey complex information clearly; strong interpersonal abilities foster positive relationships across departments.
  • Analytical skills enable you to identify weaknesses or irregularities during inspections while proposing practical solutions for improvement.
  • Ability to support procedural updates through careful review of regulatory changes ensures ongoing compliance within the department.
  • Dependable nature means you consistently meet deadlines for inspection schedules or report preparation without compromising quality.
  • Openness to hybrid roles involving local initiatives to streamline procedures and approval processes demonstrates flexibility.
