The NISC IV program at Leidos is seeking an Airspace / Aviation Analyst to work in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Anchorage TRACON (A11) in Anchorage, Alaska.
The candidate will provide support to Air Traffic Control personnel for recent changes to airspace and traffic flow in the Anchorage, Alaska area.
Routine Duties Will Include:
Develop and administer airspace training scenarios.
Assist in development of training syllabus for IFR, VFR and Performance Based Navigation (PBN) operations and approach/departure routes within each affected air traffic facility including, but not limited to, Anchorage ARTCC (ZAN), Anchorage TRACON (A11), Anchorage ATCT (ANC), Merrill Field (MRI), Lake Hood ATCT (LHD).
Assist in development of training program for A11, ANC, LHD, and MRI, for new traffic flows when EDF Runway 17 CAT II ILS is implemented.
Assist in development of training manuals and classroom training curriculums for use by Anchorage AK area facilities.
Position may require approximately 10% travel.
Please note: One needs to be able to work onsite in Anchorage, AK.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree and 8+ years of relevant experience OR Masters with 6+ years of relevant experience. Additional years of experience/certifications maybe accepted and/or considered in lieu of degree.
Previous designation as a Certified Professional Controller (CPC) with Terminal and/or TRACON experience.
Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance Suitability (To be eligible for Public Trust Security Clearance, one must be either a U.S. Citizen OR a U.S. Permanent Resident/Green Card holder who has resided in the U.S.A for the past 3 years of the past 5 years consecutively with no breaks).
Experience in a staff environment preparing written documents, memos and briefs.
Familiarity with FAA organizational structure, policies, and procedures.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with Terminal Area Route Generation and Traffic Simulator (TARGETS).
Experience with ATCoach/AT Prepare Radar Simulator.
Familiarity with Anchorage TRACON (A11) airspace.
Please Note: The program budget salary for this role could fall anywhere between $115,000 to $135,000 with a slight wiggle room (no guarantees) based on relevant experience and assessment. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
