Key Responsibilities
Pricing & Commercial Support:
- Prepare timely and accurate airfreight quotations, spot rates, tender responses, and pricing proposals in line with customer requirements and internal guidelines.
- Analyze carrier rates, surcharges, routings, transit times, service levels, and market conditions to recommend competitive solutions.
- Maintain rate sheets, buy rates, sell rates, validity periods, and pricing records in the relevant systems and tools.
- Validate cost components and commercial assumptions, identify margin risks, and escalate exceptions for approval when required.
- Partner with Sales and Customer Experience teams to clarify requirements, develop alternatives, and support conversion of opportunities.
- Provide support to the commercial team for all airfreight development tasks, i.e. pricing strategy; routing selection; join sales visit; training on basic airfreight product knowledge.
- Provide weekly updated market tariffs; market analysis report & other reporting as assigned.
Capacity Planning & Procurement:
- Forecast airfreight demand by lane, customer, product, and period using booking pipelines, historical trends, and commercial inputs.
- Coordinate with airlines, gateways, and internal stakeholders to secure allocations and ad hoc capacity at competitive cost and suitable service levels.
- Monitor capacity utilization, allotment performance, booking patterns, and no-show or under-utilization risks; recommend corrective actions.
- Optimize routing, carrier mix, consolidation planning, and space allocation to balance service reliability, cost, and yield.
- Maintain regular communication with carrier partners regarding capacity outlook, peak periods, constraints, and recovery options.
Performance, Governance & Improvement:
- Track quotation turnaround, win/loss feedback, margin, capacity utilization, allocation performance, and carrier service reliability.
- Provide pricing and capacity insights for business reviews, budget planning, peak readiness, and operational decision-making.
- Ensure pricing and capacity activities comply with internal delegation, procurement, documentation, and data-quality requirements.
- Investigate pricing discrepancies, capacity shortfalls, and service exceptions, coordinating timely resolution with relevant stakeholders.
- Identify and implement improvements in pricing workflows, forecasting accuracy, data visibility, and stakeholder collaboration.
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, business, economics, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Approximately 2–5 years of experience in airfreight pricing, procurement, capacity planning, operations, freight forwarding, or logistics coordination.
- Experience preparing quotations or tenders and working with airline rates, routings, surcharges, and capacity is preferred.
- Experience with freight forwarding or transportation management systems; CargoWise or a similar platform is an advantage.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and commercial decision-making skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret demand patterns, capacity constraints, cost drivers, service options, and margin implications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and confidence working with pricing models, reports, and structured datasets.
- Strong communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple quotations and planning activities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
