This role delivers functional and integrative medicine care focused on identifying and addressing the root causes of chronic and complex conditions. The APRN performs comprehensive intakes, orders and interprets standard and advanced labs, and builds personalized, phased treatment plans across nutrition, lifestyle, supplementation, hormones, and targeted therapies. Functional or integrative medicine training is preferred, but candidates who are eager to learn are encouraged to apply. We will train and sponsor relevant trainings for the right person.
Part-time and Full-time positions available.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform comprehensive functional medicine intakes, including detailed history, health timeline, physical examinations, and root-cause assessment.
- Update and maintain accurate, timely patient records in the EMR during and after each appointment.
- Order, interpret, and record results of standard and advanced or functional labs (for example hormone, thyroid, gut, micronutrient, cardiometabolic, and inflammatory markers), and determine the need for follow-up and further treatment.
- Develop personalized, phased treatment plans addressing nutrition, lifestyle, supplementation, and targeted therapies based on each patient's goals and physiology.
- Prescribe medications, supplements, peptides, and hormone replacement therapy, and make recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment.
- Deliver and oversee wellness and regenerative services offered in the clinic (for example IV nutrient therapy, weight management, and HRT). Able to start an IV and knowledgeable about the IV treatments offered and their indications.
- Work in collaboration with the supervising or collaborating physician to assess patient needs.
- Serve as the ongoing resource, educator, and counselor patients need, including guidance for those with complex or chronic conditions.
- Follow up with patients post-visit to address questions or concerns and adjust plans as needed.
- Deliver quality care while maintaining company metrics pertaining to productivity and patient experience.
- Ensure a professional, clean treatment environment, including prepping the treatment room between patients.
- Abide by OSHA, HIPAA, and other relevant medical office regulations.
OTHER PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
- Pursue and maintain functional or integrative medicine training and certification. Attend company-sponsored trainings and continuing education.
- Maintain licensure through ongoing Continuing Medical Education credits as required.
- Willingness to learn new products, services, and treatment protocols as the practice grows.
- Regularly participate in patient education, marketing, and social media content as appropriate.
- Other duties that may arise from time to time and are commensurate with the title and position.
Requirements
- Current, unrestricted Florida APRN license in good standing, with a valid Florida State license to practice.
- Master of Science in Nursing required. Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) preferred.
- Current national NP certification (for example FNP-C or FNP-BC).
- 2 or more years of practicing NP experience preferred.
- Functional, integrative, or lifestyle medicine training or certification preferred (for example IFM, IFMCP, or A4M). Candidates without formal functional medicine training who are motivated to learn are encouraged to apply. We will train and send you to relevant trainings.
- Genuine interest in root-cause, preventive, and personalized medicine.
- Excellent grasp of medical terminology, human anatomy, pharmacology, and lab interpretation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills across a diverse range of audiences and settings.
- Team-oriented with sound clinical judgment and the ability to make decisions independently.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, growing practice and meet deadlines.
- Entrepreneurial, coachable, and growth-minded, with a positive and professional attitude.
- Flexible schedule to include some late afternoon and evening hours and rotating Saturdays as the practice grows.
- Empathy and interpersonal skills for working with patients.
- Detail-oriented and committed to ensuring patient confidentiality.
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
