Kubicki Draper is seeking an experienced, organized, and dependable Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day accounting functions of our organization. This is a hands-on, in-office position, based in the firm's Miami location. This role reports directly to the Finance Director/Controller and plays an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounting processes, and ensuring timely completion of financial responsibilities. Will be responsible for managing a team of 10+ employees.
Requirements
Your Day-to-Day
1. Perform and oversee day-to-day bookkeeping functions, including maintaining accurate financial records and account reconciliations.
2. Manage trust accounts, including transactions, reconciliations, recordkeeping, and ensuring funds are properly accounted for.
3. Supervise Accounts Receivable, includes posting payments
4. Supervise Accounts Payable, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, vendor records, and account reconciliation.
5. Process payroll accurately and on schedule, including maintaining appropriate payroll records.
6. Review accounting transactions for accuracy and proper documentation.
7. Reconcile bank, trust, and other balance sheet accounts.
8. Assist the Finance Director with month-end and year-end accounting processes.
9. Prepare accounting reports and supporting schedules as needed.
10. Maintain organized financial records and ensure accounting procedures and internal controls are followed.
11. Coordinate with employees, vendors, customers/clients, and outside professionals regarding accounting matters.
12. Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures, controls, and efficiency.
What You Bring
1. At least 5 years’ experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or accounting management for a mid to large sized law firm.
2. Strong working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and general bookkeeping.
3. Experience managing or reconciling trust accounts.
4. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
5. Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
6. Ability to handle confidential financial and payroll information with discretion.
7. Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
8. Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the Finance Director.
9. Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Education
Minimum of an Associate Degree in Accounting (Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting strongly preferred).
