Key responsibilities:
- Asset Invoice Processing – Post and review asset-related vendor invoices (e.g., crate purchases, freight and other directly attributable costs), ensure correct account assignment and capitalization, and clarify open items with Procurement, Operations, and the vendors.
- Asset Creation – Create new assets in the system based on invoices and goods receipts, assign the correct asset class, useful life, depreciation key, and cost center, and ensure complete and accurate master data from the outset.
- Fixed Assets Accounting– Own the end-to-end asset accounting for the crate pool: capitalization of crate additions, transfers, disposals, and scrapping, as well as the monthly depreciation run and the review of results.
- Subledger Reconciliation – Reconcile the asset subledger to the general ledger each month, analyze differences, and initiate corrections.
- Material sales – Handle material sales to third parties in collaboration wit Operations (Outgoing invoice- and disposal- postings, documentations).
- Month-End and Year-End Closing – Perform asset-related closing activities, including depreciation postings, accruals, and clearing of open items, within the closing timeline.
- Audit Support – Prepare supporting documentation, and analyses for internal and external auditors.
- Reporting – Prepare regular and ad hoc reports on fixed assets, including statistical reporting, capex and depreciation analyses, and contributions to monthly and yearly report packages.
- Intercompany Asset Transactions – Handle intercompany transfers of assets and support the related reconciliation and netting.
- Process Documentation – Maintain and improve process documentation to increase transparency and consistency, and to ensure a clean handover at the end of the cover period.
- Knowledge Sharing – Actively share knowledge within the team and support the onboarding of new colleagues.
We expect:
- Educational Background – Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or an equivalent accounting qualification.
- GL & Fixed Asset Expertise – Strong experience in general ledger accounting, fixed assets, accruals, and provisions—ideally in an international environment.
- Regulatory Knowledge – Solid understanding of VAT regulations and accounting standards.
- System & Tools Skills – First experience with SAP FI and FI AA, ideally in S/4HANA, and advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel and Outlook.
- Project Experience – Previous involvement in accounting-related projects.
- Communication & Mindset – Strong communication skills, proactive working style, and a cooperative mindset.
- Accuracy & Ownership – High attention to detail, accountability, and reliability.
- Language Skills – Fluent in English and German as a strong plus.
