E.H. Wachs, an ITW company, is seeking an Accountant to join its accounting team in Lincolnshire, IL. This onsite role will be responsible for driving results by accurately preparing, interpreting and communicating all division financial information. As an active member of our core accounting team, you will play a key role in adhering to and applying all ITW principles, procedures and internal controls. What you will do and impact

Accounting Excellence, Analysis and Reporting

In this role, you'll go beyond traditional accounting by helping transform financial data into meaningful business insights. Through financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, and decision support, you'll partner with teams across the organization to identify trends, improve processes, and support the achievement of key business objectives.

• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing processes, account reconciliations, and prepare annual tax reporting.
• Prepare accurate financial statements, maintain/reconcile ledger accounts, update and effectively report out on department budgets.
• Provide sales and inventory analysis reports as needed to help support the division.
• Provide timely data through ad-hoc reporting for other managers to assist with decision-making.
• Ensure the integrity of data. Monitor and analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide meaningful insights to management for strategic decision-making.
• Leverage available tools and technologies to analyze data to support process improvements and operational decisions.

Business Partnership and Financial Insight

Success in this role requires more than strong technical accounting skills. You'll work with employees across the business to help build financial understanding and connect day-to-day activities to business performance.

• Assist employees in understanding how their decisions will impact financial results.
• Identifies, communicates, and trains others on key business drivers to enhance overall financial awareness.
• Support leaders by providing meaningful financial information that helps guide decision-making.

Cross Functional Collaboration

This role works closely with teams across the organization to understand processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and support initiatives that strengthen both financial and operational performance.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information, solve problems, and support business objectives.
• Supports inventory management by maintaining cost files, actively participating in establishing/maintaining inventory controls, and physical inventory, monitoring months on hand, and actively participating in monthly inventory review meetings.
• Assists with capital expenditure requests and manages fixed assets within the division.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance reporting, controls, and business processes.
• Identify opportunities to simplify accounting processes, reduce complexity, and improve efficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field plus a minimum of 1-2 years of broad accounting experience is required, 3-5 years preferred. 
• Cost accounting experience in manufacturing is highly preferred.
• ERP and Financial Reporting software experience is required.
• Computer proficiency, including advanced knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word is required.
• Ability to analyze financial information and communicate findings effectively.

The annual base salary range for this position is $66,000 – 75,000 annually. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. The company considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
