The Accountant, based in the DR, reports directly to the U.S.-based Controller and works closely with other members of the Finance and Accounting team. The position supports InvestorFlow’s global accounting function, with primary responsibility for accounts payable and selected month-end close activities for the U.S. and UK entities. The role requires strong attention to detail, sound accounting judgment, and the ability to work effectively with employees and vendors across multiple countries and time zones.
You Will:
Accounts Payable and Expense Management
- Process U.S. and UK accounts payable, employee expense reimbursements, and corporate credit card transactions.
- Review expenses to ensure:
- Appropriate supporting documentation and substantiation
- Compliance with Company policies
- Accurate general ledger and department coding
- Appropriate internal approvals
- Proper sales tax and VAT treatment
- Coordinate payment scheduling and ensure approved transactions are accurately integrated into the general ledger system (NetSuite in the US and Xero in the UK).
- Maintain accurate vendor records and supporting documentation.
- Work with employees and budget owners to resolve incomplete, incorrectly coded, or non-compliant expenses.
- Assist with accounts payable and expense-related audit requests and reconciliations.
- Prepare and maintain prepaid expense schedules and related journal entries.
- Prepare bank reconciliations.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and prepare depreciation and amortization entries.
- Prepare assigned balance sheet and general ledger account reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve reconciling items on a timely basis.
- Prepare supporting schedules and journal entries as assigned as part of the monthly close.
- Support U.S. and UK month-end close activities and other accounting projects as needed.
Month-End Close Support
You Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Approximately 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles and month-end close processes.
- Experience with accounts payable, expense management, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Experience with NetSuite or another major ERP system preferred.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established accounting and control procedures.
- Ability to work independently, identify issues, and follow through to resolution.
