We are the people who give possibilities purpose
BD is one of the largest global medical technology companies in the world. Advancing the world of health™ is our Purpose, and it’s no small feat. It takes the imagination and passion of all of us—from design and engineering to the manufacturing and marketing of our billions of MedTech products per year—to look at the impossible and find transformative solutions that turn dreams into possibilities.
Job Description
Lead complex hospital automation and robotics projects that transform how hospital pharmacies manage medications and workflows across ANZ.
At BD, possibility isn’t an idea. It’s what we do. We are the Makers of Possible.
As an Account Manager - BD Rowa Hospital, you'll take ownership of one of the most innovative portfolios within BD's Medication Management Solutions business, helping hospital pharmacies transform workflows through robotics, automation and software-enabled technology.
This is a newly created role and a unique opportunity to join a growing team dedicated to driving the adoption of BD Rowa Hospital Automation Solutions across Australia and New Zealand.
Based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane, you'll work alongside two other Account Managers covering ANZ, focusing on large-scale automation projects within public and private hospital pharmacy environments.
This is not a transactional sales role.
Success comes from understanding pharmacy workflows, identifying operational challenges, developing compelling business cases and guiding customers through complex technology purchasing decisions.
You'll engage a broad mix of stakeholders including Pharmacy Directors, Hospital Executives, Procurement teams, Technical Services, IT departments, consultants, builders, architects and project teams involved in hospital redevelopments and new facility projects.
If you enjoy influencing major healthcare infrastructure projects and seeing technology transform the way medications are managed, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.
Your Day-to-Day
You'll drive growth across the BD Rowa Hospital portfolio, leading complex capital sales opportunities from prospecting through to implementation.
You will:
- Drive capital equipment sales across the BD Rowa Hospital portfolio
- Develop and execute strategic growth plans across ANZ
- Identify new opportunities within hospital pharmacy environments
- Build relationships with pharmacy leaders, healthcare executives and project stakeholders
- Engage consultants, builders, architects and project teams involved in hospital developments
- Conduct workflow assessments and solution planning discussions
- Deliver solution presentations, demonstrations and business case proposals
- Navigate long and complex capital approval processes
- Work closely with Project Management, Service, Clinical and Marketing teams
- Manage a robust pipeline and maintain accurate forecasting
- Monitor market activity and identify opportunities for portfolio growth
- Support customers through the journey from design and planning through to implementation
This is a role where your ability to think strategically, influence stakeholders and manage complex opportunities will directly impact business growth.
About You
You're a highly commercial sales professional who thrives on winning complex opportunities and enjoys navigating challenging sales environments.
You already have experience selling capital equipment, automation systems or technology solutions where multiple stakeholders, lengthy buying cycles and customised solutions are the norm.
You understand that success isn't built on quick wins.
It's built on relationships, credibility, persistence and the ability to help customers see the long-term value of a solution.
You’ll bring:
- Proven success selling capital equipment, automation systems or complex technology solutions
- Experience managing long, strategic sales cycles involving multiple stakeholder groups and significant investment decisions
- Strong business development capability, with a track record of creating opportunities rather than simply managing existing business
- Experience developing financial business cases, communicating ROI and influencing investment decisions
- Confidence engaging senior decision-makers including Pharmacy Directors, Hospital Executives, Procurement, Technical Services and IT stakeholders
- The ability to understand operational workflows and position technology solutions that solve real business challenges
- Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills and presentation capability
- Excellent pipeline management, forecasting discipline and opportunity planning skills
- A self-driven, resilient and growth-oriented mindset
- Experience selling into hospitals is highly regarded.
- Experience within healthcare technology, automation, robotics, laboratory equipment, software-enabled capital equipment, industrial automation, warehousing automation, conveying systems or other complex technology environments will be viewed favourably.
