Internship Program Overview

To be eligible for the summer 2027 internship program, you must be a junior standing candidate pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree with a graduate date of December 2027 or May 2028. Most positions are based in St. Petersburg with other available locations depending on company need.
Candidates who successfully complete the internship program have the opportunity to transition into a full-time role at Raymond James after graduation.
Department Overview
The Private Client Group (PCG) is Raymond James’ largest business segment, supporting financial advisors who provide financial planning, investment advisory and securities transaction services to their clients. PCG Finance partners with leaders across the firm by delivering insightful reporting and analysis, supporting financial advisor recruiting and retention initiatives, evaluating the financial impact of strategic decisions, and executing and managing advisor compensation among other responsibilities.
The Modeling & Reporting team develops financial models, analyzes advisor and business-unit performance, and produces management reporting used throughout PCG. Interns gain exposure to multiple areas of PCG Finance through projects that may span the firm’s employee, independent contractor, financial institutions, and RIA and Custody divisions, while working with a collaborative team that values accuracy, problem-solving, continuous improvement and the practical use of technology.
Job Summary
The PCG Finance intern will support the Modeling & Reporting team with financial analysis, data validation, management reporting and projects related to financial advisor recruiting, retention and business performance. The intern will work with financial and operational data to identify trends, evaluate opportunities and communicate findings to team members, PCG leadership and business partners. Assignments may include financial modeling for advisor recruiting opportunities, cross-divisional analysis of revenue and expenses, advisor production and asset metrics, expense report reviews and improvements to recruiting data and reporting processes. Through these experiences, the intern will strengthen their Excel, analytical and business communication skills while developing an understanding of how finance teams collaborate to support decision-making across PCG.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, up to 40 hours per week.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Build financial models to evaluate advisor recruiting opportunities, including production, assets, revenue and deal terms.
- Prepare reports and analyses on recruiting, retention, assets, production, net new assets and other key metrics.
- Analyze business-unit revenue, expenses, operating performance and economies of scale.
- Collect, validate and reconcile data to ensure accurate reporting and analysis.
- Enter, review and research recruiting data in internal reporting and workflow tools.
- Partner across teams to research questions, resolve data issues and complete projects.
- Maintain and improve Excel models, reporting templates and process documentation.
- Perform other duties such as expense report reviews as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of –
- Fundamental finance, accounting and business concepts.
- Microsoft Excel, including formulas, formatting, sorting, filtering and organizing data.
- Basic data analysis and the interpretation of financial and operational information.
- Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and Teams.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements
- Junior standing (December 2027-May 2028 graduates) pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, finance, or related field.
- Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.
- Eligible applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US and not require visa sponsorship now or in the future (including beyond OPT/EAD).
