Core Responsiblitlies:

Precision Installation: Install structured cabling (CAT5e and Fiber Optic) with extreme neatness and adherence to bundling safety regulations.

High-Altitude Maneuvering: Expertly operate boom and scissor lifts to reach tight areas and heights.

On-the-Job Learning: Expand your skills with OJT for CCTV, IP Video, Physical Access Control, and Wireless LAN infrastructure.

Collaboration: Work in harmony with multiple trades to meet tight timelines and project scopes.

Safety First: Strictly adhere to Wachter, customer, and OSHA safety standards.

What You Bring to the Team:

Technical Expertise: Proven experience with CAT5e, fiber optics, and networking.

Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with NEC, TIA/EIA, and BICSI standards. (Certs like Systimax, Panduit, or Corning are a huge plus!)

Field Skills: Ability to read blueprints/site maps; conduit installation experience is a plus.

Soft Skills: Strong people skills and the ability to thrive under tight deadlines.

Tools & Mobility: You own basic telecom tools/PPE and have reliable transportation.

Schedule and Travel Requirements:

Road Warrior Spirit: Must be available for extensive travel (6–8 weeks at a time).

Ultimate Flexibility: Willing to work on-call, early mornings, nights, and weekends as project requirements shift.

Driving Record: Valid driver’s license with a clean record (no DUI/DWI within the last 3 years).

We are seeking experienced Fire Alarm/Intrusion/Burglar Installation Technicians to join our growing team. This role involves installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining fire alarm systems across various commercial and retail locations nationwide. Ideal candidates will have strong technical skills, a commitment to safety, and the flexibility to travel extensively.

Key Responsibilities

Installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of fire alarm systems infrastructure.

Running low-voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including drilling concrete walls and limited conduit work.

Installing cable support structures such as j-hooks, cable racks, and innerduct.

Conducting tests to ensure all newly installed cable systems and component devices are operational.

Troubleshooting issues with cable networks and fire alarm panels.

Ensuring all installations and repairs comply with NFPA standards, including NFPA 70 and 72.

Collaborating with team members on pre-installation design and planning.

Maintaining accurate and detailed records of all work performed.

Adhering to all required project safety requirements as set forth by Wachter, our customers, or OSHA.

Qualifications

Proven experience in field installation within security environments: Fire Alarm and/or Intrusion.

Current and valid state-required Physical Security and/or Life Safety license.

In-depth knowledge of NFPA standards, especially NFPA 70 and 72.

Experience reading blueprints and site maps.

Comfortable working at heights of 20–60 feet using lifts.

Ability to work in cramped spaces and operate BOOM or scissor lifts.

Proficiency with smartphones, computers, email, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office.

Possession of basic PPE and reliable transportation during the initial training period.

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no DUI/DWI in the last 3 years).

Availability for extensive travel (2–6 weeks at a time) and flexible shifts including nights and on-call work.

Preferred Qualifications

NICET Level 2 certification or State-required licenses.

Knowledge of cabling infrastructure and conduit installation.

Ability to identify independent colors and learn color codes.

Experience with multiple Intrusion and Fire system manufacturers.

Perform conduit installation, cable dressing, and termination inside IDF/MDF cabinets.

Install and configure CCTV, paging systems, AV equipment, and network devices.

Lead small teams on multi-week projects and ensure timely, safe, and budget-conscious delivery.

Read and interpret blueprints and site maps.

Operate BOOM and/or scissor lifts; work at heights up to 40+ feet.

Conduct system testing and ensure compliance with safety and industry standards.

Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with clients and team members.

Qualifications:

2–5 years of experience in low-voltage cabling, industrial installation, or AV systems.

Strong knowledge of cabling infrastructure, fiber termination, and AV integration.

Proficiency in Crestron, AMX, DSP programming, and audio calibration is a plus.

Industry certifications (BICSI, OSHA, MSHA, AVIXA CTS, Panduit, Belden, Corning) are highly desirable.

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no DUI/DWI in the last 3 years).

Reliable transportation.

Must have basic telecom tools, PPE

Comfortable working independently and leading small teams.

Willingness to travel extensively (4–6 weeks at a time) and work flexible shifts including nights and weekends.
