THE ROLE

Our Trading Operations team is a multi-faceted group whose roles and responsibilities directly support the foundation of trading at Virtu. This team provides the operational efficiency that is central to our success in trading; they manage and optimize the logistics, mechanics and back office workflows that keep Virtu best-in-class.  

We are looking to hire an Analyst who will be responsible for managing the clearance, settlement, and reconciliation of all trades and positions for the firm. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with traders, finance, compliance, brokers, custodians, and firm customers to ensure timely settlement of trades, accuracy of books and records, and avoidance of unanticipated risk to both the firm and its customers. 

We look for candidates with a strong technical foundation, as you will also have the opportunity to work closely with software engineers to further automate and enhance the robustness of the firm’s operational workflows. Operations Analysts not only become experts in the logistics and mechanics of trade clearance and settlement, but they also play a crucial role in the ability of the firm to conduct trading efficiently and safely, perform challenging and stimulating data analysis, and participate in the architecture of new systems and controls.

No finance experience is necessary. We look for motivated, detail-oriented candidates with a solid technical foundation and who have a drive toward process improvement.

Our Weekend Traders are not expected to work more hours than a standard schedule—but must be open to including Saturdays and/or Sundays as part of their regular workweek.

Our Weekend Traders are risk managers that help to keep our trading systems and strategies running smoothly, providing critical operational support and maintaining our high-performance algorithmic trading strategies. Duties will include:

• Supervising and optimizing strategy performance

THE CANDIDATE

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field preferred. Strong graduates will also be considered.

• Prior trading experience is a plus, but not required. Ideal candidate would have a strong interest to learn and grow within a global trading environment.
• Programming experience is required (Python, SQL, Java or C++).
• Dependable, trustworthy and highly self-motivated and self-disciplined individual.
• Outstanding quantitative problem-solving skills and mathematical aptitude.

THE ROLE

Our trading platform runs on high performance servers distributed across datacenters and offices throughout the world. These servers are highly automated and finely tuned to meet the growing demands of our business. Our Systems Engineers are responsible for designing, building, and supporting these servers, working with engineers across our global groups to ensure that our trading platform remains the best in the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyze, diagnose, and resolve Linux based server issues.
• Create, test, deploy, and maintain packages, batch files, and scripts for the OS environment.

• 5+ years background in Linux/Unix administration
• Kernel tuning experience.

• Strong scripting ability (Bash, Python etc.).

The Virtu Legal and Compliance team is looking for an experienced, self-driven Compliance Officer to join the team. The Compliance Officer will play an important role in shaping Virtu's Compliance function through innovation, analytical thinking and a desire to improve upon existing processes. This role will require the ability to interact with trading, technology, and onboarding teams to implement and enforce policies procedures, especially those focused on Virtu’s AML program. The ideal candidate for this position will also have an interest and ability to work across several Compliance areas, manage multiple deadlines, and interact with internal and external stakeholders.

The Compliance Officer works closely with business functions to provide advice, investigate issues and develop sustainable corrective actions.  A successful candidate will be a person who identifies issues and seeks to find solutions in a collaborative manner. The candidate will be a highly motivated and tenacious individual, with a proven ability to take initiative, working both independently and within a team. 

Responsibilities 

• Develop and implement policies and procedures across a variety of business units.
• Coordinate with our global legal and compliance team to work on global initiatives, especially those relating to AML monitoring and reporting.
• Drive compliance innovation initiatives with a focus on greater automation, increased efficiency, and trend analysis.
• Coordinate with trading teams, technology, and other relevant stakeholders across the organization to escalate and remediate issues identified through the course of reviews.

Experience & Qualifications  

• Bachelor’s Degree or Commensurate Experience preferred however will consider other relevant experience.
• 3-7 years of experience with a financial services firm, Fin-Tech, regulator or commensurate experience.
• Strong working knowledge of broker-dealer regulation, including securities and commodities laws and SEC, CFTC, and SRO Rules.
• Experience analyzing trading activity across a variety of asset classes, such as equities, options, fixed income, currency, commodities, futures, fx, swaps, forwards, and cryptocurrencies.
• Experience conducting AML reviews and investigations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-starter and team player who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and a relatively flat organization.
• Familiarity with SQL, python, or similar query and scripting languages is a plus, but not required. 
• CAMS certification considered a plus
