Virtu’s Research Technology team is looking for an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to join a small group of technologists whose primary function is building the infrastructure that powers our quantitative researchers. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of machine learning and systematic trading — building tools that directly determine how fast our researchers can move, and how effectively our GPU cluster translates into research output.

In this role, you will be responsible for the development of our ML research platform: the systems that manage data and compute, track experiments, and enable researchers to go from idea to result as efficiently as possible. You will work closely with quants and engineers alike and will play a central role in shaping how ML is done at the firm as we scale our capabilities. We mostly use Python, C++ and Java with a variety of open-source tools along with proprietary solutions.

THE ROLE

• Design and build experiment tracking, job orchestration, and reproducibility infrastructure so researchers can iterate quickly, compare runs reliably, and recover from failures without losing work
• Create tools for all stages of the simulation lifecycle including historical back-tests and production monitoring. Add new features to our simulators

Virtu is looking for a Software Engineer expert in C# to join our Triton Development team. We’re building a state of the art, multi-asset class Execution Management System that's changing the way the world's largest hedge funds and institutional investment managers run their investment processes. • Scale up capacity and performance of C# software components and end user experiences through Agile development methods.

THE CANDIDATE

• Bachelors or Masters degree with 2+ years of experience
• Proven results delivering multi-threaded, high performance user interfaces in C#
• Strong understanding of Core C# .NET technology for both GUI and Server side development.
• Previous experience with desktop based applications (this is not a web application*)
• Knowledge of multi-asset classes (e.g. Equities, Fixed Income Bonds), market structure and trading systems is a big plus.
• Experience leveraging .NET memory and performance profiling technology
• Proficient in object oriented programming and advanced programming languages (especially Java or WPF)
• Experience with unit testing
• Self-starter and stand-out contributor who has a real passion for technical excellence
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written)

Salary Range: $130,000 - $180,000 (salary range is exclusive of bonuses, benefits or other categories of compensation)

The Virtu Legal and Compliance team is looking for an experienced, self-driven Compliance Officer to join the team. The Compliance Officer will play an important role in shaping Virtu's Compliance function through innovation, analytical thinking and a desire to improve upon existing processes. This role will require the ability to interact with trading, technology, and onboarding teams to implement and enforce policies procedures, especially those focused on Virtu’s AML program. The ideal candidate for this position will also have an interest and ability to work across several Compliance areas, manage multiple deadlines, and interact with internal and external stakeholders.

The Compliance Officer works closely with business functions to provide advice, investigate issues and develop sustainable corrective actions.  A successful candidate will be a person who identifies issues and seeks to find solutions in a collaborative manner. The candidate will be a highly motivated and tenacious individual, with a proven ability to take initiative, working both independently and within a team. 

Responsibilities 

• Develop and implement policies and procedures across a variety of business units.
• Coordinate with our global legal and compliance team to work on global initiatives, especially those relating to AML monitoring and reporting.
• Drive compliance innovation initiatives with a focus on greater automation, increased efficiency, and trend analysis.
• Coordinate with trading teams, technology, and other relevant stakeholders across the organization to escalate and remediate issues identified through the course of reviews.

Experience & Qualifications  

• Bachelor’s Degree or Commensurate Experience preferred however will consider other relevant experience.
• 3-7 years of experience with a financial services firm, Fin-Tech, regulator or commensurate experience.
• Strong working knowledge of broker-dealer regulation, including securities and commodities laws and SEC, CFTC, and SRO Rules.
• Experience analyzing trading activity across a variety of asset classes, such as equities, options, fixed income, currency, commodities, futures, fx, swaps, forwards, and cryptocurrencies.
• Experience conducting AML reviews and investigations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-starter and team player who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and a relatively flat organization.
• Familiarity with SQL, python, or similar query and scripting languages is a plus, but not required. 
• CAMS certification considered a plus
