The Role

Verse is seeking a Data Scientist to join our Data Science Team. In this role, you will lead the development and deployment of advanced data-driven solutions across a range of applications, including electricity markets, renewable procurement, and energy risk management. You will shape the machine learning and data modeling foundations that Verse's software is built on. What We're Looking For (Minimum Qualifications)

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative field and 2+ years of professional experience in data science or machine learning; or
• Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of professional experience in data science or machine learning
• Strong foundation in statistical modeling and machine learning, including time series forecasting and model evaluation
• Experience deploying and maintaining models in cloud-based environments (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) using MLOps practices

In this position, you will own research projects end-to-end from problem formulation through model development to production integration. Your work feeds directly into Aria and into decisions our customers make about how to procure, dispatch, and hedge their energy assets. For example, you might spend a cycle backtesting financial performance of renewable energy projects, encoding bespoke energy contract terms into reusable and scaled models, or developing a probabilistic model for medium-term energy price scenarios.

The Role

You will be a member of the technical staff developing product experiences and features for clean energy buyers — our customers, businesses who spend millions of dollars in operational expenses each year on energy and who need analytics and insights into their portfolios of renewable energy assets.  In this role, you will serve in a “full stack” capacity designing, building, and maintaining frontend and backend components of our Buyer Solutions suite of applications. We use Typescript, React, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, Radix/ShadCN, Jest, Cypress, Playwright, Vitest, and Storybook with Echarts and D3/Observable for data visualization for our frontend, and Cloudflare Pages for hosting and content delivery. We rely on identity and auth platforms like Clerk for sign-in flows. Our backend is written in Go and Python with Postgres/AlloyDB and blob storage for data persistence.

We’re seeking an Utility Rates & Regulatory Analyst to serve as Verse’s go-to internal expert on utility rates/tariffs, demand response programs, battery storage incentives, and interconnection rules across U.S. markets. This is a high-leverage role — you’ll be the person teams across the company turn to when they need to understand how rate eligibility and program rules actually work, and what that means for our customers and our platform.

You will be a trusted resource for our data science and customer-facing teams in particular, helping ensure that our analyses reflect real-world utility rules and that our customers’ cost-saving opportunities are accurately understood.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain deep expertise in utility rate structures (TOU, demand charges, export compensation, standby rates) across commercial and industrial customer classes, and serve as the internal authority on how these rates apply to our customers
• Understand demand response, battery storage, and virtual power plant programs in depth — including eligibility, performance requirements, payment structures, and stacking constraints — and advise internal teams on customer eligibility based on attributes such as load profile, meter type, geography, and utility territory
• Interpret interconnection rules and processes (FlexConnect, Rule 21, FERC 2222, state-level standards) and advise on how they affect customer eligibility for distributed energy resources

• Work closely with our data science and customer-facing teams to ensure analyses reflect real utility bills and program rules, and help identify cost-saving opportunities for customers through batteries, solar, and demand flexibility

• 2+ years of experience in energy regulatory affairs, utility tariff analysis, distributed energy, or a related field
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. utility rate structures and at least one of the following: demand response programs, behind-the-meter battery storage programs, or interconnection processes

You’ll need to understand what happens when a meter times out, when a site loses cloud connectivity for 24 hours, or when a BESS OEM ships a firmware update that breaks your control interface.

• Own the product roadmap for fleet telemetry and site-to-cloud infrastructure – spanning OEM device integration (Tesla, Sungrow, Fluence), real-time site controllers (net export limits, demand management, solar ITC, safety shutdown), telemetry ingestion, alarm management, and cloud-to-site dispatch execution.
• Define requirements for site-local control logic and edge computing, including offline mode behavior, local schedule caching, meter timeout handling, and graceful degradation when cloud connectivity is lost.
• Drive the OEM integration strategy across BESS manufacturers and meter hardware defining device mapping standards, polling configurations, and site topology management for increasingly complex multi-device installations.
• Own the site-to-cloud communication layer – config synchronization, dispatch scheduling, fleet health monitoring, and end-to-end observability from command issuance through battery execution and telemetry confirmation.
• Partner closely with the UI Product Manager to translate 24/7 fleet management workflows into product requirements for commissioning tools, alarm triage, urgent shutdown, and dispatch monitoring.
• Work with Engineering to scope and prioritize across both pods, making trade-off decisions between new OEM support, reliability improvements, scale readiness, and feature delivery against contractual UAT milestones.

What We're Looking For (Minimum Qualifications)

• 4+ years of product management experience on real-time, embedded, or industrial control systems. You’ve shipped software that talks to physical hardware and have dealt with the reliability, latency, and integration challenges that come with it.
• Direct experience with device communication protocols and the messy realities of integrating across multiple OEM vendors with different APIs, firmware versions, and data formats.
• Strong technical foundation in distributed systems, edge computing, or IoT infrastructure. You understand site-to-cloud architectures, VPN/network configuration, data buffering, and what it takes to keep remote devices reliably connected and controlled.
• Comfort operating in a high-stakes, operationally critical environment where uptime matters – you’ve worked on systems where failures have real-world consequences and you know how to think about failover, graceful degradation, and alarm management.
• Excellent communication skills with experience writing technical PRDs, coordinating across hardware and software teams, and engaging with customers or operations teams who are using the system in production.

You’ll own the simulation engine that co-optimizes battery dispatch, bill savings, coincident peak reduction, and grid services revenue across multi-year project lifetimes. And you’ll own the interfaces that let Solutions Engineers generate customer proposals and enterprise energy teams validate ROI across hundreds of sites. Your platform is where messy customer data (interval load files in inconsistent formats, solar production exports, complex utility tariffs across thousands of rate schedules) gets cleaned, unified, and transformed into defensible financial analysis. 

This role sits at the intersection of energy economics, data science, and enterprise product design. You’ll work closely with enterprise customers and sales teams to ensure that outputs meet the standard required to drive real capital allocation decisions. You’ll engage with Data Science to build tariff modeling, dispatch simulation, and scenario analysis capabilities. • Scope and deliver a simulation UI that allows users to configure inputs, run and compare scenarios, save and retrieve historical results, and export presentation-ready outputs, serving both technical analysts and commercial stakeholders.
• Collaborate with commercial teams to ensure modeling outputs (proposals, financial models, before/after billing calculators, portfolio rollups) meet the rigor required to close enterprise deals and inform capital allocation decisions.

• Work across Engineering, Data Science, Design, Commercial, and Customer Success to scope features, prioritize trade-offs, support enterprise onboarding, and ensure the platform delivers measurable value at scale.
• Monitor product performance through analytics, customer feedback, and operational metrics, iterating to improve data accuracy, reduce manual overhead, and increase platform reliability.

What We're Looking For (Minimum Qualifications)

• 5+ years of product management experience in data-intensive or platform products, with demonstrated ownership of data pipeline requirements and strategy.
• Strong technical foundation: comfortable with system architecture, APIs, database design, and data modeling. You can read a system design doc, ask the right questions, and make informed trade-offs.
• Experience with technically complex platforms where data arrives from heterogeneous sources in inconsistent formats – real-time systems or IoT/telemetry.
• Excellent communication skills with experience writing PRDs, presenting to executives, and engaging directly with enterprise customers through full product lifecycle delivery.

Base Pay Range

$130,000-$200,000

The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Manager of Demand Generation to lead our enterprise demand strategy and drive pipeline growth across a defined set of strategic target accounts. This role will focus heavily on account-based marketing (ABM), partnering closely with sales to engage priority accounts, expand relationships within buying committees, and generate qualified pipeline opportunities. You’ll sit at the center of marketing and sales collaboration, translating account strategy into coordinated marketing campaigns that drive meaningful conversations with our ideal customers.

This is a high-impact, strategic role responsible for aligning marketing programs with revenue goals and helping build a scalable enterprise demand engine.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Account-Based Marketing Strategy

• Partner with sales to develop engagement strategies for priority target accounts
• Identify key stakeholders and buying groups within enterprise accounts

Drive Enterprise Demand Generation

The Role

We're looking for a highly analytical Senior Business Operations Analyst to help our customers unlock the full value of the Verse platform. The ideal candidate has a consulting background and thrives at the intersection of customer experience, product strategy, and data-driven insights. You’ll be the voice of the customer internally and a trusted advisor externally, ensuring our users succeed, stay engaged, and help shape the future of our product. 

Key Responsibilities

Customer Engagement & Success

• Support customer onboarding and day-to-day engagement activities to ensure a positive user experience.
• Lead pilots with potential customers in close collaboration with the Data Science, Engineering, and Product teams
• Assist in gathering and organizing user feedback on goals, workflows, and product pain points, and collaborate with Product by documenting recurring customer needs for the product roadmap
• Help prepare and execute data analyses under the guidance of senior team members or the Data Science team.

Commercial Strategy Support

• Work closely with Marketing and Sales to share customer insights, success stories, and use cases.
• Support strategic go-to-market initiatives such as account prioritization, segmentation, and opportunity identification.
• Occasionally assist in high-impact sales efforts by providing context on customer needs and industry trends.

Business Operations & General Support

• Work on improving internal processes related to customer delivery and general business operations

What We’re Looking For (Minimum Qualifications)

• 2+ years at a top-tier consulting firm or in a similarly rigorous, analytical, and stakeholder-facing role with a strong track record of problem solving and cross-functional collaboration
• High level of proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience working in renewable energy space, especially with solar, wind, and battery assets
• Customer-first mindset with the ability to build strong customer relationships, listen and empathize, and translate feedback into actionable recommendations
• Strong communication skills – able to engage technical and non-technical audiences with equal fluency
