The role

Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) is an integral part of our Incident Response (IR) and Managed Services practices. As a CTI analyst you will be a critical part of our wider cyber team’s success.

You will work across the full intelligence cycle to help our clients respond and recover to security incidents, and stay ahead of evolving threats, including:

• Threat Actor Intelligence: You will track developments in the ransomware and cybercrime ecosystem, and write and update profiles on key threat actors of interest which will be shared with clients to inform case strategy and externally as thought leadership
• Threat Actor Engagement: You will monitor leak sites and negotiation portals across our global IR cases, and inform case leads of regular developments. You will assist with researching and drafting attestations on sanctions exposure for given threat actors
• Dark Web Monitoring: You will use threat intelligence platforms and specialist tools to conduct targeted research the dark web and set up and deliver regular monitoring engagements. You will assist with renewals of these cases
• Technical IOC Management: You will help collate technical indicators of compromise (IOCs) from across our global IR team, ensure these are enriched and correctly classified, and facilitate dissemination across the organisation to improve the operational effectiveness of our IR and Managed Services teams
• Incident Data Collection and Analysis: You will help ensure that incident data collected by our global IR team from our engagements is accurate and consistent. You will assist with the management of this dataset, and with analysis to produce regular reporting on trends and insights to use for presentations, events and training sessions
• CTI-lead analysis: You will assist with in-depth investigations which have a strong threat intelligence component, including conducting research and drafting client-facing reports
• Blockchain analysis: You will use specialist tools to trace ransom payments to identify sanctions exposure or other compliance risks, and draft reports to present findings to clients
• Thought leadership: You will contribute to public write ups and presentations on new vulnerabilities, trends, and threat actor techniques
• Help develop and share domain expertise: We will support you in growing your cyber expertise, including sharing it with the wider team through internal initiatives and programs.
• Help contribute to business development: You will help cultivate and manage close relationships with external partners who we share intelligence with and help identify business development opportunities.

• A demonstrated interest in cyber threats, including financially-motivated activity such as ransomware and extortion.

Preferred Skills:

• Academic or professional background in a research-focused discipline (qualitative or quantitative), such as Political Science, Intelligence Studies, Criminology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Data Science, or related fields.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity fundamentals, such as threat actor TTPs, IOCs, and relevant frameworks (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK).
• Ability to contextualize findings into business-relevant assessments, including potential impact, likelihood and recommended mitigations.
• Experience using OSINT and/or Threat Intelligence platforms (e.g. VirusTotal, Shodan, MISP, Recorded Future).

THE ROLE   

We are seeking a proactive and organised, native Arabic and English speaker, to conduct live virtual pre-investment interviews in both languages with accuracy, objectivity, and discretion. These interviews will be held with potential high net worth individual (HNWI) investors as part of a due diligence process, with an objective of verifying their identities and understanding their occupations and sources of wealth along with their investment motivations. In this role, you will collaborate and form part of our administration and operations team, working closely with our global Corporate Intelligence teams, including our investment migration due diligence practice.  

The ideal candidate is a team player who is adaptable, meticulous and organised with a proactive mindset toward contributing to the growth and evolution of the service and business. You will undergo structured onboarding and ongoing training covering: 
 
a) Core interview techniques, best practices, and active listening skills  

1. b) System navigation and data handling,ensuring discretion and confidentiality at all times. 
2. c) Our end-to-end approach to managing and delivering a live interview process. 

Your day-to-day responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

Conducting professional virtual interviews: Conducting professional virtual interviews in both Arabic and English with your camera on, reading out pre-scripted questions with precision in either language to the interviewee(s), demonstrating active listening to their answers and probing effectively where necessary.  
 

Managing the full interview lifecycle: Managing the full lifecycle of an interview from pre-interview communications to help ensure punctual attendance, to ensuring all completed interview recordings and materials are accurately stored and handled with the utmost discretion.  
 

Communicating proactively with practitioners and stakeholders: Communicating proactively and professionally with S-RM practitioners, clients, and interviewees (investors), initially with guidance, but ultimately independently including informing practitioner teams of live interview  progress and attendance and ensuring your own prompt and punctual attendance at all live interviews. 

Troubleshooting and escalating issues appropriately: Identify and troubleshoot technical and methodological difficulties promptly and effectively before and during live interviews, taking initiative to resolve issues where appropriate, seeking guidance when needed, and escalating more serious concerns to the team while communicating these to S-RM practitioners for oversight. 

Supporting overall interview service administration: Collaborating with the interview team in administering the overall interview service delivery and maintaining the smooth operation of the interview service including addressing any IT challenges, liaising with relevant internal and external stakeholders, and contributing to planning meetings.  

We are looking for candidates to fill this role at either our Cape Town or Kuala Lumpur office. Working hours will be set at 9am to 6pm SAST with 1 or 2 later shifts from 12pm to 9pm SAST per week if based in Cape Town or 12pm to 9pm MYT on a regular basis if based in Kuala Lumpur. We have flexible working arrangements available.

THE ROLE

Our Incident Response Consultants are a critical part of our Cyber Security consulting practice’s success. As a Technical Lead, you will deploy your incident response expertise in a senior, client‑facing delivery role across our incident response services.

You will work across the full lifecycle of security incidents to help our clients respond and recover, spanning both traditional incident response scenarios (such as ransomware, business email compromise and intrusion investigations) and modern incidents affecting cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines and software delivery environments.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

You will be responsible for leading and delivering technical investigations for clients, including:

• Leading technical incident response engagements from first contact through to closure
• Acting as the primary technical resource on response cases, applying your own expertise and providing guidance to colleagues on the project team.

• Triage and containment

THE ROLE 

We are looking for a German speaking consultant to join our Cyber Incident Response team as an Engagement Lead.  A successful cyber response only happens when a group of technical experts works seamlessly with a team leader who can get the best out of them.  

Role responsibilities include: 

• Project scoping: you will be a first responder to cyber-attacks, running triage calls with clients to understand the scope of the incident and setting out how S-RM can support. 

• Project management: from that first call to the incident’s conclusion, you will be responsible for ensuring the response is managed effectively and efficiently, delivering for all stakeholders while on schedule and within budget. Typical workstreams include: 

• Working with clients to ensure that incidents are contained. 

• Overseeing a team of forensic analysts investigating the incident.

We will prioritise candidates with demonstrable digital forensics and incident response (‘DFIR’) experience, especially those that have worked in an incident handling capacity before. Credit Control - Working with the Credit control manager to monitor the sales ledger to ensure timely collection of outstanding debts 

• Chase overdue invoices via email and telephone in a professional and courteous manner 

• Allocate client payments accurately and resolve payment discrepancies

• Maintain accurate records of client communications

THE ROLE 

Our Security Operations Centre is a critical part of our Cybersecurity division’s success.  

As a Cybersecurity Analyst (SOC), you will deploy your cybersecurity expertise in a vital delivery role across our managed detection and response services.   

In this role, you will use infrastructure and tools that power our Security Operations Center (SOC) to deliver desired security outcomes for our managed services clients. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with security tools such as SIEM, SOAR, EDR, and other advanced technology.   You will have a proven ability to respond effectively to security incidents. This hybrid role involves both remote work and some in-office presence for collaboration, teamwork and development.  

Delivery 

• Monitor Security Events: Continuously monitor and analyse security alerts from EDR, SIEM and other security tools to detect suspicious activities or potential threats. 

• Incident Response: Conduct investigations and respond to security incidents, executing containment, mitigation, and remediation steps as necessary. 

• Threat Hunting: Proactively search for indicators of compromise (IoCs) and advanced threats within the environment, utilising both automated tools and manual analysis. 

• Threat Detection: Use expertise to tune detection rules, automate workflows, and improve incident detection accuracy. 

• Log Analysis: Perform in-depth log analysis from firewalls, endpoint protection platforms, and other solutions to investigate complex incidents. 

• Threat Intelligence: Stay informed of emerging threats and collaborate with the threat intelligence team to enhance detection capabilities. 

• Incident Reporting and Documentation: Ensure detailed documentation of incidents, responses, and resolutions to maintain a clear incident management process. 

• Shift Work: Participate in a 24/7 shift rotation to ensure continuous security monitoring, including evening, night, and weekend shifts. 

Growth of the service 

• Continuous Improvement: Work closely with other IT teams, security engineers, and senior SOC members to refine detection processes and improve overall security posture. 

• Collaboration: Collaborate with SOC analysts, security engineers, and IT teams to ensure seamless operation of security tools and alignment with broader cybersecurity practices. 

• Security Enhancements: Identify areas for improvement in security monitoring and response capabilities, proposing and assist with implementing new solutions where appropriate. 

• Collaborating with Global Teams: Work closely with other cyber security teams to ensure seamless integration of SOC operations with our broader cybersecurity initiatives and business units especially Incident Response. 

• Contributing to Internal Technical Development Initiatives: When the schedule allows, you will have opportunities to participate in and contribute to internal technical development initiatives, enhancing our tools, processes, and overall incident response capabilities. 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for: 

• Qualifications: A Bachelors degree in a relevant subject, for example cybersecurity, computer science. Relevant industry certifications are advantageous, or evidence of working towards attaining these. 

• Experience: 2+ years of experience in a SOC or cybersecurity operations role. 

• Technical Expertise: Solid understanding of security fundamentals, including threat detection, incident response,  endpoint and network security. 

• Approach: An investigative mindset.  You should be comfortable solving problems with limited information and guidance, and be curious to learn. 

• Reliability:  Our customers depend on us to manage their security and provide cyber-resilience, you must be dependable. 

• Tools:  Expertise in use of EDR is required. Familiarity with other security tools such as SIEM, firewalls, and IDS/IPS is desirable.  

• Incident Response: Experience in responding to and remediating security incidents, including credential theft and malware based attacks. 

• Threat intelligence: Some demonstrable knowledge of current cyber threat actors, their tactics, techniques, and procedures.  

• Threat Detection: Understanding of security monitoring, threat detection techniques, and the ability to exploit detection systems for optimal performance. 

• Communication: Clear and concise verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams; preferably you should be able to communicate technical findings to a non-technical audience.  Able to write and format incident reports and summaries.
