About The Role:
The Carrier Sales Zone Captain is responsible for leading a team of Carrier Account Managers within a geographic freight territory. As a Zone Captain, you will play a vital part in guiding your team in establishing and growing their carrier relationships, while ensuring carrier coverage and service needs are met for Spot’s customers that ship freight into your zone. This role requires a combination of a personal drive to succeed as well as a desire to help others achieve success. About The Role: Collaborating closely with the Spot Sales Team and AR Billing Team, The Collections Associate reports to the Collections Team Lead and/or Collections Manager and is responsible for ensuring their assigned customer accounts remain current and accurately reflect all financial transactions. This position plays a critical role in managing the company's accounts receivable by actively pursuing outstanding customer payments and ensuring the timely collection of all receivables.
Ideal Candidate and Qualifications (Requirements):
Candidates should have an accounting, finance, business management, or similar background. You will be highly detail oriented, possess strong communication and organization skills, and excel in a fast paced, high-volume environment.
• Associate’s degree required, bachelor’s degree preferred
• 2+ years of previous accounts receivable / collections experience in a fast paced, high-volume position in lieu of a degree
• Prior logistics industry experience a plus
• Intermediate to advanced computer knowledge required
• Must be able to sit at a desk for extended periods
• Full time, in office position
Responsibilities:
• Generate and distribute SOAs (Statement of Account) reflecting open invoices and balances due to assigned customers on a regular cadence
• Utilize customer Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to obtain invoice status updates used to reconcile against internal records
• Develop and maintain open lines of communication with assigned customer AP contacts to follow up on past due balances and secure payment commitments
• Address customer inquiries and disputes related to outstanding balances, working closely with internal departments as needed to clarify issues and expedite resolution
• Investigate and resolve instances related to unapplied cash, ensuring accurate and timely application of funds to the correct invoices

About The Role:
The Brokerage Sales Internship is an immersive, 10-week program designed for high-energy students looking to build a foundation in the fast-paced logistics industry. This isn't a "shadowing" program—you will be on the front lines, learning to nurture and build relationships with our carriers and customers.
Guided by our Sales Development team, you will learn the art of negotiation, market analysis, and freight movement. Towards the end of the program, you will complete a market-relevant, industry-spanning capstone project, preparing you for a potential full-time career at Spot.
What You’ll Do:
• Carrier Relationship Management: Learn to develop and grow carrier relationships through lead generation, cold-calling, and referrals.
• Negotiation & Procurement: Under the guidance of a mentor, prospect and negotiate rates with carriers to move freight in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Freight Operations: Proactively communicate with carriers and sales teams to facilitate resolutions for shipments and exceed service expectations.
• Customer Sales Transition: During the final weeks, participate in specialized training focused on the "Customer" side of the business (Account Management), learning how to hunt for and secure new shipping partners.
• Capstone Project: Research and present a formal project on a current freight industry topic (e.g., market volatility, fuel trends, or logistics technology) to Spot leadership at the conclusion of the 10 weeks.
Internship Roadmap:
• Weeks 1-7: Intensive Carrier Sales training, cold-calling fundamentals, and managing day-to-day freight operations.
• Weeks 8-9: Introduction to Customer Sales, account growth strategies, and business development.
• Week 10: Final Capstone Presentation and graduation from the program.

About The Role:
The Carrier Sales Zone Manager is responsible for leading a team of Carrier Account Managers within a geographic freight territory. As a Zone Manager, you will play a vital part in guiding your team in establishing and growing their carrier relationships, while ensuring carrier coverage and service needs are met for Spot’s customers that ship freight into your zone. This role requires a combination of a personal drive to succeed as well as a desire to help others achieve success. The Carrier Sales Zone Manager is expected to lead by example through a strong work ethic, positive energy, and a teamwork mentality.
A successful candidate also needs to have strong organizational and critical thinking skills, with the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment. The Carrier Sales Zone Manager must work closely with Account Managers, Sales Managers, and other department stakeholders to meet customer service expectations and profitability objectives.
