Samsara is searching for a versatile Senior Legal Counsel to join our Legal team in Europe. You will support the growth of our business in Europe and collaborate closely with functions across the company on commercial and other general legal matters in Europe. In this role, you will independently execute complex commercial matters with appropriate speed, drive, and focus, leading the negotiation and closing of strategic customer, partner, and vendor agreements while developing and refining scalable playbooks and workflows for commercial contracting across the region. While this role will predominantly focus on supporting commercial contracts and workflows, you may also have the opportunity to support adjacent legal workstreams as needed for our growing European operations—including local privacy, employment, regulatory, corporate, product, and compliance topics—by proactively identifying and addressing complex risks and helping to design cross-functional processes that enable the business to move quickly while managing exposure. The successful candidate will bring deep experience in European commercial contracting, sound judgment, and discretion, and will act as a force multiplier by building strong relationships with senior cross-functional stakeholders, meeting them where they are, and taking ownership of ambiguous goals to drive high-impact, business-oriented outcomes.

In this role, you will: 

• Negotiate and drive to execution commercial contracts with European and other customers, vendors, and business partners
• Develop and scale commercial contracting workflows in Europe, including by drafting and developing form agreements and building and improving contracting tools and processes
• Have the opportunity to support the growth of the company’s business in Europe in a broad range of legal subject matters, which may include privacy, employment, regulatory, corporate, product, and/or compliance matters.
• Work with the Legal team and cross-functional partners to drive strategic business and legal initiatives in Europe and act as a trusted partner to relevant stakeholders like Sales, Sales Operations, Partnerships, Finance, Customer Success, Marketing, Product, People, Operations, and Customer Support teams.
• Help build a best-in-class legal function for the company in Europe.
• Answer questions and offer legal advice on a wide range of issues, projects, and initiatives across the company.
• Exercise initiative and creativity in solving challenges and accomplishing business goals.

Minimum requirements for the role: 

• 8+ years of relevant experience in a law firm and/or in-house position in the United Kingdom, including experience implementing and supporting complex scalable workflows.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills that allow for clear communication (both written and verbal).
• Interest in being a true partner to our business stakeholders and immersing yourself in the ins and outs of our business and the industry in which we operate.
• Ability to build, develop, and maintain strong cross-functional relationships.
• A high degree of professional integrity, ethics, and sound judgment.
• Be a highly proactive self-starter who delivers quality work within tight timelines.
• Be humble, adaptable, and flexible, with a growth mindset and desire to work on a variety of matters.
• Law degree from a top university with strong academic credentials.
• Be a qualified solicitor or barrister of good standing in England & Wales.
• Be based in the United Kingdom, preferably close to London.

About the role:

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Legal Administrative Assistant based in our Mexico City office. This role sits within our global Legal Operations team and will support the administrative function of the entire Samsara legal team by handling a wide range of administrative tasks, ensuring smooth daily operations, and contributing to the legal operations function globally, including in Mexico, the United States, Canada, Europe, and India. The ideal candidate will possess a keen understanding of legal administrative work, great attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. 

This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days per week in our Mexico City office and 2 days working remotely. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this role.

• Support the administrative function for the Samsara Legal Operations team
• Support legal team request intake queues, ensuring prompt and accurate resolution of inquiries, requests, and tasks
• Provide general administrative support for the entire legal team (including in Mexico, the United States, Canada, Europe, and India), including, but not limited to, redlining contracts, document management, coordination and preparation (filing, signing), general correspondence, and administrative tasks
• Support and improve administrative workflows across the legal team and cross-functionally
• Maintain and organize legal databases and systems
• Manage updates to contractual and policy templates and support related workflows
• Facilitate communication and collaboration amongst the global legal team
• Provide administrative support for special projects and initiatives as needed

Minimum requirements for the role:

• 2+ years of administrative, operations and/or legal support experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Spanish and English
• This position will be based in Mexico City and will be a hybrid role – the candidate will be expected to be in the office at least 3 days per week.
• Ability to support US (EST/PST) business hours as needed
• Demonstrated success in managing team inboxes/queues, coordinating tasks, and meeting deadlines within a dynamic work environment
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with accuracy
• Discretion while handling confidential legal information
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
• Proficient with AI tooling, including designing and improving AI powered workflows
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

An ideal candidate also has:

• In-house, technology company, law firm, or notary public experience
• Legal management and enterprise software experience (i.e., Zendesk, Ironclad, Slack, Google Drive, Adobe, Brightflag, etc.)
• Knowledge of legal terminology, practices, and documentation
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on team collaboration
