Job Description
The Senior Account Manager (SAM) oversees projects within a vertical account team to ensure quality and provide continuity and tactical alignment while also leading high-profile projects from the client through to the project manager and cross-functional team. The SAM will partner with the Account Director to assist brand partners with the development and management of the tactical plan. This role requires a strong awareness of the account’s strategic direction, as well as knowledge of clients’ products and processes. The success of this position relies on the success of the team, meeting clients’ expectations, partnering with Avant colleagues, and individual performance.
What you’ll do:

Ensure quality and consistency across multiple tactics that are led by both Avant and external partners
-
Provide oversight and consultation to Account Managers as it relates to project execution
-
Act as the in-house client at all times by communicating client expectations to the crossfunctional team
-
Act as the Customer Management Office (CMO) liaison within the respective account (vertical)
-
Provide invoicing information and budget status updates to clients as requested
-
Provide direction and review job scope changes and closeouts as necessary
-
Provide peer-to-peer channel insights and recommendations
-
Drive strategic partnerships with clients by having and applying knowledge of their products and objectives
-
Lead and actively participate in strategic brainstorming sessions and annual strategic planning
-
Assist the business owner as needed with the following tasks
-
Create proposals for projects within assigned accounts
-
Partner with finance team and project managers in budget development
-
Perform other strategic work as delegated by the Account Director
-
Ensure strategic objectives are met with each client project
-
Support organic growth opportunities for the account through a strong understanding of Avant capabilities, client needs, and attention to buying signals
-
Partner successfully with Project Management Team to execute projects from the initiating and planning phases through the closing phase
-
Develop and manage project creative briefs and client scope statements
-
Supervise projects to ensure tactical and strategic goals are met
-
Follow all policies, procedures, industry standards, and compliance guidelines and ensure team members’ adherence
-
Execute client status meetings and prepare all meeting materials and follow-up items (agendas, notes, etc.)
-
Partner successfully with Project Management Team to execute projects from the initiating and planning phases through the closing phase (cont.)
-
Monitor the overall project scope from a client and account perspective and communicate scope changes when necessary
-
Provide final approval on all deliverables to ensure strategic objectives are met

Develop and communicate status reports with management and the client, monitor project and team results against client expectations

Monitor and manage project-related risks and issues in partnership with the project manager; resolve and escalate risks and issues to the client when needed

What you should have:

Pay Range: $85,000-$100,000

Job Summary:
The Senior Art Director is a senior-level creative contributor within the agency who may interface directly with Real Chemistry clients as well as all areas of the organization. Primary responsibilities include guiding the ideation and creative development for projects, business development, and some corporate marketing as needed. In addition to possessing an excellent knowledge of effective graphic and/or presentation design techniques (via both the Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office, especially Word and PowerPoint), a successful Senior Art Director should possess a thorough understanding of the principles of successfully integrating copy with art and layouts. This position also requires strong creative problem-solving skills and the ability to translate strategic ideas into polished deliverables and then present them to key stakeholders.
What you'll do:
Otherwise known as the “essential functions”, these are the parts of the job that a crucial to successful performance.
- Provide quality assurance for all related design deliverables
- Manage/lead/direct promotional art projects
- Assess client needs, propose, and develop innovative multimedia solutions
- Understand and develop new technology to maintain agency competitiveness
- Possess advanced experience with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
- Provide a work breakdown structure (WBS) and budget for complex deliverables
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Potential to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments
- Fulfill other duties and responsibilities deemed necessary by supervisor
- Any other duties as reasonably assigned; duties and responsibilities may be removed, modified, or added by leadership at any time as business or operations require

Pay Range: $85,000-$95,000

Real Chemistry is looking for an Account Director to join our growing Medical Communications team! We are open to Account Director, Senior Account Director, and Group Account Director level candidates!
The Account Director for the Scientific and Medical Affairs team serves as the primary client contact, leading client relationships of ~$2M, providing strategic counsel, and overseeing the successful execution of projects for emerging and mid-stage biotech companies as part of our Biotech Center of Excellence (COE). You will ensure high-quality deliverables, proactively identify opportunities for account growth, and manage internal teams effectively.
This is a hybrid role based in our Boston office.
What You’ll Do:
- Serve as the day-to-day client lead and trusted advisor for emerging and mid-stage biotech partners across medical affairs and publication workstreams, leveraging our Biotech COE
- Provide senior-level strategic counsel on key programs, tailoring recommendations to the realities of emerging and mid-stage biotech (e.g., evolving evidence, rapid timelines, and lean teams).
- Oversee account operations to ensure seamless execution of high-quality deliverables - driving proactive issue resolution, clear stakeholder communication, and consistent delivery standards across the Biotech COE
- Drive strategic planning and account growth by identifying opportunities to evolve and expand programs for existing and identified emerging and mid-stage biotech clients.
- Ensure financial stewardship across the account, including budget oversight, forecasting, resourcing, and profitability management.
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment and contributing to capability-building within the Biotech COE.
- Stay current on industry trends, competitor activity, and relevant regulatory updates - translating insights into practical guidance for biotech clients.
- Support new business efforts for emerging and mid-stage biotech, contributing to pitches and proposals and partnering with the Biotech COE to showcase differentiated expertise.
What You Should Have:
- 6+ years of experience in medical affairs and ideally publications, in an agency setting.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience servicing biotech clients.
- Proven leadership skills, with experience managing client relationships and internal teams.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of driving account growth.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in financial management, including budget tracking and forecasting.
- Experience with Advisory boards, investigator meetings, and meeting management.
- Veeva management expertise (preferred but not required).
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.

Real Chemistry is looking for an Account Executive join our growing RadScience team!
This unique team includes dozens of scientists and artists specifically trained in illustration, animation, interactive media, and immersive experiences - turns complex scientific messages into simple, memorable stories through: Congress experience and scientific visualization.
This is a hybrid role, based in any of our US offices—including Boston, Chicago, or Carmel—or remotely within the US, depending on team and business needs.
What you’ll do:
- May participate in new business opportunities as a support to the Account Director by taking notes with input and/or planning meetings
- Note taking during meetings/calls (internal and client-facing); sends prompt recaps to appropriate parties for review, filtering/editing and/or additional input before routing
- With guidance from Supervisor and/or members of the account team, requests/collects and appropriately files the resources needed to service project scopes i.e.) client resources, creative briefs, project plans, etc.
- Learns, follows, and implements each client’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) into agency's milestone delivery(s), review periods, MLR submissions, etc.
- Learns each client's review/submission schedule and project deadline to ensure they support the team to meet it/them
- Supports PM to collect/track and/or compile internal and external feedback on each milestone delivery
- Drives the creation of billable job codes
- Pending project ownership, may work with PM to understand project burn against original budget; communicates updates to Sr Acct D/Acct D
- Shadows and assists Account Lead in preparation for and during monthly revenue recognition meetings
- Practices and adheres to company SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
- Attends all meetings (live or virtual) for which they are invited; may be the designated team member to open the meeting room and/or conference call line 5mins prior to start time
- With guidance from the Supervisor, may work with new staff to help with their onboarding and training
- Effectively collaborates with members across the entire team to succeed
- Ensures procedures are being followed by team members
- Contributes and/or provides feedback to Supervisor, leadership, and fellow team members with a solution-oriented focus

Vice President, Medical Director
Real Chemistry is seeking a visionary and strategic Vice President, Medical Director to lead and expand our medical communications offering. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of scientific strategy, drive client excellence, and elevate healthcare provider education to ultimately transform patient outcomes.
As Vice President, you will serve as a senior strategic partner within the Biotech Center of Excellence, shaping and scaling medical affairs offerings tailored to the unique needs of emerging and growth‑stage biotech companies. - Strategic Leadership: Serve as the senior scientific lead on major accounts, driving scientific strategy and execution in alignment with broader medical communications and business objectives.

Position Summary:
The Senior Medical Writer serves as an integral part of the Real Chemistry Medical Communications division in developing scientific content in support of a variety of omnichannel medical communication tactics, as assigned to particular therapeutic areas and client brands. The Senior Medical Writer must have the ability to analyze and interpret complex scientific data and translate these into compelling and relevant clinical communications and commercial/medical messages. The Senior Medical Writer collaborates closely with the Medical Director and cross-functional teammates in the development and execution of scientific strategies and tactics.
This is a hybrid role, based in any of our US offices—including New York City, Boston, Chicago, Carmel, Lambertville, or San Francisco—or remotely within the US, depending on team and business needs.
What you'll do:
- Develop core deliverables (eg, PowerPoint slides, manuscripts, video scripts, executive summaries) and ancillary materials (eg, participant handouts, moderator guides) for medical communication projects, including promotional/medical presentations, advisory board meetings, product theaters as well as various educational videos and digital solutions
- Perform and analyze literature searches and scientific research regarding clinical data and key scientific information for content development projects to meet client needs for relevant, up-to-date, evidenced-based, and accurate medical communication content
- Collaborate with the Medical Director, in partnership with Creative and Client Services, on medical storytelling, drawing upon client insights, landscape intelligence, and relevant evidence-based medical literature to provide informed and relevant strategic recommendations
- Partner with Presentation and Graphic Designers on various illustrations, animations, and creative applications of medical and scientific information
- As assigned, develop relationships and collaborate closely with clients and key opinion leaders to develop scientific content and execute medical communication strategy to communicate complex scientific information to medical professionals
- Conduct quality checks on all content-related materials, including annotated deliverables, to ensure scientific integrity and accuracy, and support Veeva submissions of all medical communication deliverables for client medical/legal/regulatory reviews by highlighting all relevant references and creating detailed reference notes
- Support project management within the cross-functional team by effectively communicating and aligning with Account and Project Managers, and actively participating in all internal and client meetings
- Train and mentor more junior medical writers under the guidance of the Medical Director
- Maintain full compliance with legal, regulatory, and corporate requirements as well as all applicable US laws and regulations
- Perform any other duties as reasonably assigned; duties and responsibilities may be removed, modified, or added by leadership at any time as business or operations warrant

- Expert verbal and written communication skills in the field of medical science

The Account Manager/Senior Account Manager for the Scientific and Medical Affairs is the client’s key day-to-day contact, managing relationships and helping to set their expectations of the agency. The Strategist is an emerging strategic thinker who supports the development of insight‑driven strategies that guide brand and business decisions. This individual contributes across core strategic workstreams with guidance, synthesizes research into early insights, and supports the creation of strategic deliverables and narratives. They bring curiosity, rigor, and reliability to their work, and are focused on building mastery of the strategic process.
This is a hybrid role, based in any of our US offices—or remotely within the US, depending on team and business needs. This role will work standard EST business hours.
What you’ll do:
Strategic Support & Insight Development

Support the collection and synthesis of secondary research, competitive intelligence, and market trends.

Assist in identifying patterns, observations, and early insights from research and data.

Contribute to baseline strategic deliverables such as competitive reports, trend analyses, research summaries, tactical briefs, and messaging drafts.

Learn and apply core strategic tools and frameworks with guidance from senior team members.

Help translate inputs into clear takeaways that inform brand and communication strategy.
Workstream Contribution

Support defined workstreams or projects under the guidance of senior strategists.

Execute assigned tasks reliably, managing time and expectations effectively.

Flag questions, risks, or areas of confusion early, seeking guidance as needed.

Build confidence navigating ambiguity by asking smart questions and proposing initial points of view.
Deck Creation & Communication

Draft early slides and sections of decks, focused on clarity, structure, and accuracy.

Help organize content into logical narratives with support and feedback.

Present sections of work internally and, at times, to clients with preparation and guidance.
Client & Internal Collaboration

Collaborate closely with account, creative, medical, analytics, and digital teams to support strategic alignment.

Build trust with internal partners through clear communication, follow‑through, and thoughtful contributions.

Participate actively in internal meetings, offering observations, questions, and emerging perspectives.
Pitch & Workshop Support

Contribute to new business pitches by supporting research, insight development, and deck creation.

Assist in workshop preparation and synthesis; may support breakout groups or activities with guidance.

What you should have

2–4 years of experience in strategy, planning, insights, consulting, marketing, or a related field.

Exposure to research, analysis, and strategic deliverables (through agency, consulting, or in‑house roles).

Strong writing, organization, and analytical skills.

Comfort learning and applying strategic tools with guidance.

Healthcare/pharma experience is a plus but not required depending on team needs.
Pay Range: $90,000-$100,000
