The Senior Finance Operations Specialist is an experienced member of the Finance team responsible for the accurate and timely execution of assigned accounting workflows. This role requires a thorough understanding of the end-to-end accounting cycle, sound judgment in resolving transactional issues, and the ability to operate with a high degree of independence. The incumbent is expected to ensure the integrity of financial data within their assigned function, proactively identify and escalate discrepancies, and serve as a reliable resource in supporting operational efficiency and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely processing of financial transactions within the assigned function, including but not limited to commissions, client refunds, invoicing, collections, or account reconciliations, in accordance with established procedures and internal controls
• Prepare and complete month-end reconciliations for the assigned function, ensuring all variances are identified, investigated, and resolved within required deadlines
• Apply a comprehensive understanding of relevant accounting processes to assess the accuracy and completeness of transactions, and identify anomalies before they impact downstream reporting
• Escalate issues and exceptions to the Finance Operations Manager in a clear and timely manner, providing relevant context and a recommended course of action
• Collaborate with internal departments to obtain, verify, and validate information required for accurate transaction processing and reporting
• Adhere to established financial controls and standard operating procedures; contribute to the identification and documentation of process improvements as opportunities arise
• Maintain consistent service delivery in line with defined SLAs and communicate proactively when deadlines or volumes are at risk
• Assist with ad-hoc projects, analyses, and process reviews as directed by the Finance Operations Manager

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• 3–5 years of progressive experience in finance operations or accounting, with demonstrated proficiency in one or more functions of the accounting workflow (AP, AR, reconciliations, commissions, or equivalent)
• Experience in the travel industry is an asset
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Demonstrated ability to critically evaluate financial data, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to present information clearly and collaborate across teams
• Self-directed and accountable, with a track record of delivering quality work consistently and with minimal supervision

The expected base compensation range for this position is: $70,000 to $80,000.

Key Responsibilities  

Consolidated Financial Reporting Support

• Assist in preparation of consolidated management financial statements across multiple entities and currencies.
• Support consolidation schedules, intercompany eliminations (management view), and reporting bridge analyses.
• Maintain mapping between statutory financial reporting and management reporting structures.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages.

• Contribute to reporting development in tools such as Vena and/or Power BI.

Qualifications 

• 2–5 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or financial reporting.
• CPA designation in progress or interest in pursuing CPA preferred.
• Familiarity with financial statements and basic accounting principles.
• Exposure to Power BI or other reporting tools is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to learn.
• Strong Excel skills (experience with Power Query or Power Pivot an asset).

Role Brief

We are seeking an experienced Senior BI Developer to help modernize our analytics platform while building executive reporting used by senior leadership. 

We are currently transforming our analytics environment, migrating legacy SQL Server and Power BI Desktop reporting into a Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse architecture to create a scalable and governed data platform. 

This role combines executive dashboard development, forecasting analytics, and data platform modernization. The successful candidate will lead the migration of existing BI reporting into Fabric while developing curated datasets and KPI models that power executive reporting. 

Working closely with the Senior Director of Analytics, this role sits at the intersection of business analytics and modern data platforms, translating business metrics into scalable Fabric-based semantic models that support executive decision-making and future AI-driven analytics capabilities. 

Key Responsibilities 

Executive Reporting & Forecasting 

• Design and build executive dashboards in Power BI that provide clear performance insights for leadership
• Implement dynamic forecasting and run-rate projections
• Integrate financial assumptions to support profit and margin visibility
• Develop clear KPI summaries, variance views, and trend analysis
• Enable drill-down across company, business unit, and operational drivers 

Semantic Modeling & BI Development 

• Design and optimize Power BI semantic models
• Standardize KPI definitions and calculations
• Improve dataset performance and maintainability
• Consolidate and simplify existing BI models where appropriate 

Fabric Migration & Curated Layer Development 

• Lead migration of existing BI datasets from SQL Server / Power BI Desktop to Microsoft Fabric

Analytics Platform Development 

• Help establish best practices for BI development and data governance
• Contribute to a scalable analytics environment supporting executive reporting, operational dashboards, and advanced analytics
• Ensure datasets are documented, reusable, and optimized for performance 

Required Skills & Experience 

• Strong Power BI development experience (data modeling, DAX, performance optimization)
