The Role:
As a Sales Engineer at Ping Identity, you'll merge your enthusiasm for identity management with a commitment to customer success. In collaboration with our dynamic sales team, you will engage in customer meetings, demonstrations, and proof of concepts, showcasing the business and technical benefits of our solutions. Your role is pivotal in enabling personal, team, and customer achievements through insightful and innovative solutions that meet technical and business needs.
This role offers the chance to showcase your technical and consultative skills, engaging with stakeholders of various roles and levels to understand and meet their technical requirements with cutting-edge solutions. Your expertise in Identity and Access Management (IAM) technologies will be key in delivering impactful solutions that align with customer business goals.
Responsibilities
- Deliver pre-sales activities including solution demonstrations, presentations, technical guidance, proofs of concept, and RFx responses
- Be the go-to technical expert on solutions for customers, partners, and internal teams
- Establish enduring relationships with customers and become their trusted advisor
- Collaborate with the sales team to deliver revenue. Emphasis during key sales cycle phases of: Qualification, Discovery, and Technical Proof Phase
- Coordinate, throughout sales cycle, pre-sales efforts with a post-sales service delivery team
- Meeting, both virtually and in-person to deliver presentations, whiteboarding sessions, and demonstrations of Ping solutions and their value to customers, partners, and industry events
- Provide insightful feedback on product enhancements and customer needs to product owners.
- Develop subject matter expert level knowledge of at least one of Ping Identity's solutions and
- Able to travel up to 30% of the time (typically less)
Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years' experience with enterprise-level software systems in a customer-facing role, such as pre-sales, consulting, support, or training.
- A demonstrable interest in computer security or cybersecurity, applied or theoretical. Perhaps your final year project related to it or you specialized your degree around security? You may have studied optional modules relating to it or completed your own projects or self-driven learning.
- Knowledge of open standards and protocols relating to identity and security would be beneficial. You may have encountered OAuth or OpenID Connect, for example, or had experience implementing social login or Single Sign-On. Perhaps you have implemented user authentication for a project? We would like to hear about it.
- Familiarity with using REST APIs and working with JSON data to integrate with web services is essential. Experience with modern programming/scripting languages is an advantage.
- Knowledge of key foundational infrastructure and networking technologies such as virtual machines, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, load balancers, proxies, etc.
- Experience with one or more typical cloud service providers such as AWS, GCP, Azure, and deployment technologies such as Kubernetes and Terraform would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of the growing use of agentic AI in customer environments and the role identity plays in securing AI agents, controlling their permissions, and governing their behaviour.
- Engaging interpersonal and customer service skills: verbal, written, and listening/understanding, alongside good objection handling and solution discovery skills.
- Ability to relate proposed solution technical capabilities back to customer needs in a narrative style
- Ability to work with a high level of self-direction and/or collaboratively with team and customers
- BSc in Software Engineering or equivalent degree
- A passion for learning; the ability to learn in a self-directed way and to seek out help and guidance when it is required.
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Fluent English language skills
Base Hiring Range:
In accordance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB 19-085) the approximate compensation range for this role in Colorado is listed above. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors, such as knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent field, or 3+ years' experience with enterprise-level software systems in a customer-facing role, such as pre-sales, consulting, support, or training
- Knowledge of standard identity protocols: SAML, WS-Fed, OAuth, OIDC, and SCIM as well as experience with REST interfaces
- Knowledge of technologies that underly identity solutions: LDAP (including Active Directory), SSL/TLS, PKI, RADIUS, SQL, DNS, JDBC
- Experience with one or more modern programming languages and web technologies: JavaScript, Python, Node.js, HTTP, HTML, CSS, JSON, Java.
- Experience developing and delivering effective technical presentations, workshops, customized demonstrations, and proof of concepts
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Adept at linking technical capabilities to customer needs.
- Ability to work with a high level of self-direction and/or collaboratively with team and customers

The Role:
It’s an exciting time for Ping Identity in New Zealand. Off the back of recent growth you will be the first Sales Engineer on the ground further accelerating adoption of Ping Identity solutions in the country. With the support of an exceptional Sales Engineering team in Australia and Singapore, you will shape the face of this role.
This role offers the chance to showcase your technical and consultative skills, engaging with stakeholders of various roles and levels to understand and meet their technical requirements with cutting-edge solutions. Your expertise in Identity and Access Management (IAM) technologies will be key in delivering impactful solutions that align with customer business goals.
You will also be instrumental in strengthening partner relationships across ANZ. You will work alongside a highly effective partner team on engaging and interactive customer oriented meetings, demonstrations, and proofs of concept that articulate the business and technical value customers will receive from a Ping Identity solution. You will be an active member of a team that empowers personal, team, and partner success. This role will be a key contributor to our overall sales and business development strategy as we look to continue maturing our partner network that will ensure sustained growth across the region as well as seeking to build out our partner capability in a number of other developing markets.

The Role:
As a Partner Sales Engineer at Ping Identity, you will bring a passion for identity and a customer-first mindset. You will work side-by-side with a highly effective partner team on engaging and interactive customer oriented meetings, demonstrations, and proofs of concept that articulate the business and technical value customers will receive from a Ping Identity solution. As a Partner Sales Engineer you will have the opportunity to not only enable partners, but also to work alongside them and support them as they go to market with Ping Identity solutions . In this capacity you will build and exercise deep technical and consultative skills while leveraging your soft skills to maintain engagements and keep them moving forward. Collaboration is at the heart of this role; you will need to exercise consultative skills to rapidly understand an identity problem, prototype a full stack solution and implement this as a reusable asset that can be leveraged to accelerate partner-led engagements.
Your expertise with Identity and Access Management (IAM) technologies coupled with your insight into our System Integrator’s unique needs, all matched with Ping Identity’s visionary capabilities, will enable you to present uniquely innovative and effective solutions that will enhance the customer’s success with Ping Identity.
Responsibilities:
- Foster close relationships with delivery partners to support the technical sales relationship and build a mutual beneficial plan of success for delivering Ping Identity solutions.
- Support partner teams to understand and deliver enablement to drive and achieve business goals
- Share knowledge and collaborate closely with the Field SE team, and occasionally contribute to broader opportunities and initiatives
- Become familiar with elements that include marketing events, solution and sales training, joint solution development and joint account sales activities that will drive the alliance relationship
- Support partner technical learning events across supported sales regions which might include delivering solution presentation, whiteboarding, and demonstrations
- Work with the partner team to identify gaps in partner enablement, then create and execute on plans to close those gaps
- Provide pre-sales technical guidance to partners, i.e., product demonstrations, proof of concept for proposed solutions, and/or technical workshops
- Work with partner teams to enable them to achieve customer wins. Emphasis during key sales cycle phases of: Qualification, Discovery, and Technical Proof Phase
- Able to travel up to 30% of the time.
Skills & Qualifications:
- 4+ years in customer facing professional services or presales positions
- Strong base of system integrator industry knowledge
- Ability to develop and nurture relationships with System Integrators and Ping Identity Partner teams to better understand demonstration needs and solution requirements
- Ability to rapidly innovate through development of mobile and web applications, APIs and platform configuration to build the demonstration assets that really resonate with both business and technical audiences. The focus is to enable system integrator teams to sell Ping Identity successfully
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to empower System Integrator and Channel partner communities
- Ability to work with a high level of self-direction and/or collaboratively with other teams within Ping Identity
- Ability to relate proposed solution technical capabilities back to customer needs in a narrative style
- Competency with scripting languages (JavaScript, Groovy, etc.), RESTful Web Services and web development frameworks such as Node.JS and Vue.js.

- Foster close relationships with delivery partners to support the technical sales relationship and build a mutually beneficial plan of success for delivering Ping Identity solutions.
- Support partner teams to understand and deliver enablement to drive business goals.
- Share knowledge and collaborate closely with the Field SE team, and occasionally contribute to broader opportunities and initiatives.
- Become familiar with elements that include marketing events, solution and sales training, joint solution development, and joint account sales activities that will drive the alliance relationship.
- Support partner technical learning events across supported sales regions, which might include delivering solution presentations, whiteboarding, and demonstrations.
- Work with the partner team to identify gaps in partner enablement, then create and execute plans to close those gaps.
- Provide pre-sales technical guidance to partners, i.e., product demonstrations, proof of concept for proposed solutions, and/or technical workshops.
- Work with partner teams to enable them to achieve customer wins. Emphasis during key sales cycle phases of: Qualification, Discovery, and Technical Proof Phase.
- Able to travel up to 30% of the time.
Skills & Qualifications:
- 3+ years in customer-facing professional services or pre-sales positions.
- Strong base of system integrator industry knowledge.
- Ability to develop and nurture relationships with System Integrators and Ping Identity Partner teams to better understand demonstration needs and solution requirements.
- Ability to rapidly innovate through the development of mobile and web applications, APIs, and platform configuration to build demonstration assets that resonate with both business and technical audiences. The focus is to enable system integrator teams to sell Ping Identity successfully.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to empower System Integrator and Channel partner communities.
- Ability to work with a high level of self-direction and/or collaboratively with other teams within Ping Identity.
- Ability to relate proposed solution technical capabilities back to customer needs in a narrative style.

Reporting to the regional Sales Engineering manager, this is a strategic pre-sales role as we accelerate our growth at this crucial stage in our company’s development.

We are seeking an elite tech-savvy presales solution architect focusing on modern technology, with a passion for Identity Management / Access Management (IDM / IAM) solutions. The right candidate will have a strong integration profile and will have the ability to architect IAM infrastructures, execute complex Proof of Concepts (POCs), and conduct business and technical workshops.
As a Principal / Senior Sales Engineer in our highly successful team, you will help make an impact with an industry leading technology that is growing quickly and aggressively. You will work with an innovative and market leading team, interact with global customers and interact daily with world leading technologists. Where your focus is deeply technical working with our platform and product teams, implementing them according to the solution the customer desires, you will compliment other team members in the Sales Engineering team whose task is to transform the customer business requirements into the right solution.
Responsibilities:
- Work together with the Sales, Marketing and Partner team - qualify prospects on solution fit and delivery needs
- Work together with other team members, Product Management and Product/Platform Engineering and Support in providing the right deep technical expertise for our prospects and customers
- Acting as a trusted advisor, bring a strong solution selling focus to delivering solution workshops, solution & platform demonstrations, Proof of Concepts and RFIs to customers and integration partners
- Lead or assist team members in building out demos of our solutions and platform capabilities

- Guarantee a continuous handover between the teams when navigating between pre- and post-sales phases

Skills & Qualifications:
- At least 8-12+ years of proven experience in a presales solution architect role
- At least 5+ years of proven experience in three or more of the following industries: Banking, Insurance, Telco, Government, Retail, Media and other industries with a large-scale customer base
- Business consultative skills, ability to interface with various levels including C-suite, directors, managers, architects, developers, and engineering teams

The Role:

Responsibilities:
- Deliver pre-sales activities including solution demonstrations, presentations, technical guidance, proof of concepts, and RfX responses.
- Act as the go-to technical expert on Ping Identity solutions for customers, partners, and internal teams.
- Establish enduring relationships with customers and become their trusted advisor
- Collaborate with the sales team to deliver revenue. Emphasis during key sales cycle phases of Qualification, Discovery, and Technical Proof Phase
- Coordinate, throughout sales cycle, pre-sales efforts with a post-sales service delivery team
- Leading customer-facing meetings, both through videoconferencing and in-person to, deliver presentations, whiteboarding sessions, and demonstrations of Ping Identity solutions and their value remotely, in-person, and at industry events
- Provide insightful feedback on product enhancements and customer needs to product owners.
- Mentoring, both formally and informally, junior team members
- Develop subject matter expert-level knowledge of at least one of Ping Identity's solutions and serve as an expert resource to other Sales Engineers within the organization
- Able to travel up to 40% as needed. This will mostly be in the Nordic region but may occasionaly include Benelux or Eastern Europe
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 4+ years' experience with enterprise-level software systems in a customer-facing role, such as pre-sales, consulting, support or training
- Deep knowledge of standard identity protocols: SAML, WS-Fed, OAuth, OIDC, and SCIM as well as experience with REST interfaces
- Deep knowledge of technologies that underly identity solutions: LDAP (including Active Directory), SSL/TLS, PKI, RADIUS, SQL, DNS, JDBC
- Experience with one or more modern programming languages and web technologies: JavaScript, Python, Node.js, HTTP, HTML, CSS, JSON, Java.
