Senior Backend Engineer-Cloud Modernization
Role Summary
As a Senior Backend Engineer in the Credit Cards team, you will play a critical role in our Cloud transformation, re-architecting, building, and shipping our next-generation solutions, evolving the systems that power our card offering end-to-end, from card ordering and issuing to transaction processing and lifecycle management.

What you’ll do
You will be a core member of the Credit Cards engineering team, a high-impact unit responsible for the full card lifecycle, from ordering and issuing to limiting, managing, and monitoring card transactions. The team integrates with third-party payment processors, 3D Secure systems, and MasterCard, ensuring seamless, secure, and high-performance card operations for our customers.
You will lead technical initiatives across card systems, designing, building, and validating robust backend solutions that scale with business needs.
You will work closely with architects, security, product, and operations teams to modernize the existing card systems into a new event-driven architecture, introduce cloud-native patterns. Build it from scratch while ensuring that card business services remain reliable, secure, and performant.

- 6+ years of experience with backend development, preferably C# and Node.js
- 6+ years of experience with advanced SQL (MSSQL/MySQL/PostgreSQL, etc.)
- 4+ years of experience with NoSQL database, preferably MongoDB
- Experience with building SaaS platforms for cloud-based products, preferably AWS
- Experience with Containers and Kubernetes (K8s), preferably EKS
- Experience with Event-Driven Architecture
- Experience with Message Brokers such as RabbitMQ/SQS/Kafka, preferably Kafka
- Experience with Microservices development
- Experience with AI tools for leveraging team velocity & quality
- B.S. in computer science or equivalent

Role summary - We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to join our Commercial Products domain, taking ownership of one of Payoneer’s most critical products: Global Receiving Accounts.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to define and execute the product strategy, ensuring our offerings deliver maximum value and impact. This role combines strategic thinking, customer empathy, and data-driven decision-making, all in a highly collaborative, global environment.

What you’ll do
- Own the domain end-to-end: Define and drive the product strategy for Global Receiving Accounts.
- Set the vision, build the roadmap, and make prioritization calls that balance customer impact, business value, and technical feasibility.
- Lead a dedicated engineering team, set direction, remove blockers, and make sure the team is building the right things.
- Navigate complex stakeholder landscapes: Partner closely with product, engineering, UX, risk, compliance, business development, operations, and commercial teams across multiple locations.
- Align diverse stakeholders around a shared direction.
- Scale the product globally: Expand into new markets, currencies, and payment corridors. Navigate the complexity of cross-border payments, local banking rails, and regional regulatory requirements.
- Drive growth and monetization: Identify levers to improve activation, adoption, and revenue. Build hypotheses, run experiments, and use data to optimize the product’s commercial performance.
- Communicate with clarity: Present strategy and progress to senior leadership. Translate complex technical and regulatory topics into clear narratives that drive decisions across the organization.
Who you are
- 5+ years of product management experience, with meaningful time spent in fintech, payments, or financial services.
- Deep understanding of cross-border payments, FX, banking rails, or global account infrastructure.
- Experience with receiving accounts, virtual IBANs, or multi-currency wallets is a plus.
- A track record of owning a product domain and driving measurable business outcomes (not just shipping features).
- Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder environments—aligning engineering, business, risk, compliance, and leadership teams around a shared plan, often across geographies and time zones.
- Strong analytical skills: You form hypotheses, dig into data, and let evidence guide your decisions.
- Ability to operate independently: You don’t wait for direction—you identify what matters and go after it.
- Excellent communication skills, with a talent for translating complex topics into clear, actionable narratives.

About the Role:

What you’ll be spending your time on
- Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines for the company's products
- Building and maintaining high-performance, fault tolerant, scalable ALM system, from Version control, Builds and Deployments to Monitoring and configuration management
- Maintain the application layer of our public cloud and private cloud
- Develop and integrate infrastructure tools in support of our production system
- Automate the Provisioning and configuration of Windows/Linux environments
- Work closely with product, QA, developers and IT/operations departments to streamline their working methods
- As a core member of the team, you will participate in 'On-Call' duties on Payoneer production systems, working in non-conventional hours include weekends and holidays (from time to time)
Have you done this kind of stuff?
- BS degree in computer science, computer engineering, relevant technical discipline or equivalent practical experience
- At least 6 years’ experience as DevOps Engineer
- A minimum of 5 years of exposure running production workloads (AWS, Azure or GCP)
- Microservices architecture & container orchestration (Docker and Kubernetes)
- Experience with CI/CD tools and source control management tools (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps, SonarQube, Artifactory etc...)
- Experience with GitOps (e.g., ArgoCD or Flux)
- Experience with Configuration Managements tools like Chef, Ansible or Puppet
- Proven Scripting capabilities: PowerShell/Bash/Python
- High level Linux OS expertise
- Programming experience skills (C#, NodeJS - advantage)
- Experience managing application servers and web servers
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Experience with monitoring and logging solutions (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana and ELK)
- Proactive by nature; internal drive for excellence and improvement

Role summary –
As a Backend Engineer in the Pricing & Packaging R&D crew, you’ll help build our monetization platform from the ground up: pricing and packaging engines that power a global payments platform. You’ll work end-to-end on features – from discovery and design through implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring – using modern AWS-based technologies and leveraging modern AI tools, while maintaining best engineering practices and high quality. What you’ll do –
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design/UX, DevOps, and other R&D teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions, covering full development lifecycle: discovery, design, implementation, code reviews, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
- Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs for pricing, packaging, and monetization flows, in Node.js and C# over relational and document-based databases (SQL, MongoDB), running on AWS, using containers and Kubernetes.
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, following engineering best practices.
- Integrate with message brokers (e.g., Kafka, SQS, RabbitMQ) to build robust, event-driven services.
- Contribute to improving our CI/CD pipelines, observability, and production readiness (logs, metrics, alerts, dashboards).

Who you are:
- B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- 6+ years of experience with backend development in Node.js, preferably combined with practical experience in C#.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with relational databases and advanced SQL (MSSQL/Oracle/MySQL/PostgreSQL, etc.).
- Strong experience building SaaS or cloud-based platforms, preferably on AWS.
- Solid experience with containers and Kubernetes (K8s); EKS experience is an advantage.
- Strong experience with message brokers (e.g., Kafka/SQS/RabbitMQ) and event-driven architectures.
- Proven experience designing and building microservices in production environments.
- Deep understanding of OOP, design patterns, and clean architecture principles.

As a Principal Engineer within Payoneer’s Business Applications domain, you are a senior technical authority responsible for shaping the long‑term architecture, engineering standards, and modernization strategy of mission‑critical financial systems.

Own Domain‑Level Architecture & Technical Direction
- Define and evolve the target architecture for the Business Applications domain, ensuring alignment with Payoneer’s cloud, security, and platform strategies.
- Act as a technical decision‑maker for high‑impact initiatives, reviewing and influencing designs across multiple teams and services.
- Identify architectural risks, systemic bottlenecks, and long‑term scalability concerns—and proactively drive solutions.
Drive Large‑Scale Cloud & Legacy Modernization
- Lead complex, multi‑year modernization efforts, including decomposition of monoliths, domain realignment, and migration of critical systems to cloud‑native architectures.
- Set principles and reference patterns for event‑driven systems, APIs, data flows, resiliency, and backward compatibility.
- Partner with architects, SRE, security, and platform teams to ensure solutions meet reliability, compliance, and performance requirements.

What you’ll do
You will lead a Cloud Modernization Commando, an elite team, a high-impact engineering unit, focused on accelerating cloud modernization across the R&D teams in the organization. The team operates as a force multiplier, taking on complex, high-prioritized, and high-value cloud initiatives that require deep technical expertise, fast execution, and cross-team influence.
You will lead the full cycle from the front, designing, building, and validating modern cloud patterns, unblocking critical initiatives, and setting technical direction that other teams can confidently adopt. It is not a long-term feature delivery team, and stakeholders change per mission, yet it’s a mission-driven squad that engages where impact is highest, establishes momentum, and then hands over ownership to product teams.
Who you are
You are a seasoned, hands-on, engineering leader with a proven ability to create clarity, drive momentum, and take ownership in fast-moving, complex environments. You excel at breaking down ambiguous problems, aligning stakeholders, and moving initiatives from concept to execution with urgency and focus.
You bring deep cloud and architectural expertise, balancing strategic thinking with pragmatic delivery. You know when to design scalable, long-term patterns and when to deliver targeted, tactical solutions that unblock teams and accelerate progress across the organization.
You thrive in cross-team environments, earning trust, influencing without authority, and collaborating closely with product, architecture, security, and infrastructure groups to ensure alignment, adoption, and sustained impact.
Skills you are bringing with you
· 4+ years as Team Lead or Tech Lead
· 6+ years of experience with backend development, preferably C# and Node.js
· 6+ years of experience with advanced SQL (MSSQL/MySQL/PostgreSQL, etc.)
· 4+ years of experience with NoSQL database, preferably MongoDB
· Experience with building SaaS platforms for cloud-based products, preferably AWS
· Experience with Containers and Kubernetes (K8s), preferably EKS
· Experience with Event-Driven Architecture
· Experience with Message Brokers such as RabbitMQ/SQS/Kafka, preferably Kafka
· Experience with Microservices development
· Experience with AI tools for leveraging team velocity & quality
· B.S. in computer science or equivalent

Role summary -

As an R&D Team Leader in the Pricing & Packaging R&D crew, you’ll be a key contributor to designing and building our monetization platform – pricing and packaging engines that drive the core business model of our payments platform. You’ll own complex features end to end, influence architecture and standards, mentor your team members, and help shape how we design, build, deploy, and operate services in AWS. This is a hands-on senior role with significant impact and room to lead technical changes.
What you’ll do
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design/UX, DevOps, and other R&D teams
- Lead an autonomous team of software engineers who are working closely with product management for achieving business goals
- Put special focus on developing the team
- Provide technical authority to your team by demonstrating a hands-on leadership style
- Be responsible for the overall design, development, architecture, code quality, and production environment deployment of your team
Who you are -
- B.S. in computer science or equivalent
- 8+ years of experience with backend development in Node.js, combined with practical experience in C#.
- 3+ years of experience with advanced SQL (MSSQL/Oracle/MySQL/PostgreSQL, etc.)
- 4+ years of managerial experience – a must!
- Experience with building SaaS platforms for cloud-based products, preferably AWS
- Experience with Containers and Kubernetes (K8s), preferably EKS
- Experience with Message Brokers such as RabbitMQ/SQS/Kafka, preferably Kafka
- Experience with Microservices development
- Broad knowledge of OOP and design patterns
- Team player attitude and mentality
- Experienced and passionate about managing and growing people
- Experience in engineering best practices (code reviews, testing coverage, Agile methodologies)
- Ambitious and eager to learn new things

We’re looking for a Software Developer Team Leader who is a tech-enthusiast with a drive for excellence, and an out-of-the-box mindset to satisfy business needs in a complex payment solution environment.
What you’ll do

We're looking for a Seasoned Engineering Leader/ Engineering Manager to lead and build higher-performing teams with a drive for excellence and an out-of-the-box mindset to satisfy business needs in a complex payment solution environment.
Responsibilities:

- Lead an autonomous team of software engineers who are working closely with product management to achieve business goals.

- Be responsible for the overall design, development, architecture, code quality, and production environment deployment of your team.
Requirements:
- 7 + years of experience as a software technocrat,using C#, Nodejs or any OOP Language, REST APIs, webhooks, and asynchronous communication with Queues/Streams (RabbitMQ and Kafka).
- 2+ years of experience with observability systems (Dynatrace, Grafana, etc. )
- 2+ years of managerial experience, leading development of customer-facing products- a must!
- Experience with messaging queues or streams such as RabbitMQ/SQS/Kafka.
- Broad knowledge of OOP and design patterns.
- Experience with Microservices.
- Experience in engineering best practices (writing unit tests, code reviews, testing coverage, agile methodologies).
- Team player attitude and mentality.
- Experienced and passionate about managing and growing people.
- Ambitious and eager to learn new things.
Not a must, but a great advantage:
- Experience with Redis or similar.
- Experience with ORM such as Entity Framework.
- Experience in building SaaS platforms in a cloud-based/hybrid environment.
