Senior Site Reliability Engineer
Job Summary
The Senior Site Reliability Engineer is a key technical leadership role at the intersection of infrastructure, platform engineering, operational resilience, and developer enablement. At Partnerize, we operate a high-scale platform processing over a billion daily events across a hybrid estate spanning on-prem datacentres and AWS cloud infrastructure. You will play a critical role in ensuring our systems remain reliable, scalable, secure, and operationally efficient whilst helping evolve our engineering culture towards a modern “you build it, you own it” model.
This is not a purely operational support role. We are looking for an experienced technical leader and subject matter expert who can balance hands-on engineering with strategic thinking — someone capable of modernising legacy systems, improving observability and automation, and guiding engineers through increasingly complex distributed environments.

As we continue to scale globally, we are evolving our infrastructure, modernising legacy systems, and investing heavily in automation, containerisation, observability, and platform reliability. We deploy to production multiple times a day and operate a hybrid environment spanning physical datacentres and AWS cloud services.
Our infrastructure and engineering ecosystem includes technologies such as Linux, Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, Python, Terraform, Ansible, Elasticsearch, Druid, and modern CI/CD tooling.
As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Partnerize, You Will:
Lead Reliability & Operations
Take ownership of platform reliability, availability, and operational performance across a complex hybrid estate supporting Partnerize, BrandVerity, Ascend, and Konnecto.
Drive Platform Modernisation
Help lead the transition from legacy operational models towards modern containerised infrastructure and self-service engineering platforms.
Champion DevOps Enablement
Empower development teams through automation, tooling, and platform improvements that support a “you build it, you own it” engineering culture.
Act as a Technical Authority
Provide technical leadership and guidance across infrastructure, distributed systems, security, observability, and operational best practices.
Improve Security & Resilience
Partner closely with security and compliance teams to strengthen platform security posture, conduct threat modelling, vulnerability assessments, and support secure-by-design engineering practices.
Mentor & Develop Engineers
Act as a player-coach within the SRE organisation, mentoring engineers, supporting technical growth, and helping shape future technical leaders.
Lead Incident Management
Take ownership during major incidents, driving clear communication, structured troubleshooting, and pragmatic resolution strategies across the wider business.
Drive Automation & Continuous Improvement
Continuously improve infrastructure, deployment pipelines, monitoring, and operational tooling to improve reliability, scalability, and delivery velocity.
You are an experienced Site Reliability Engineer with:
Deep Technical Expertise
Strong experience operating and supporting distributed systems at scale across Linux, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure environments.
Platform Engineering Experience
Hands-on expertise with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
Strong Systems Thinking
The ability to troubleshoot complex systems methodically, balancing operational stability with long-term architectural improvements.
Security & Operational Awareness
Experience applying security principles within DevOps and distributed systems environments, including threat modelling, vulnerability assessment, and operational risk management.
Pragmatic Problem Solving
Confidence moving between strategic platform initiatives and low-level operational troubleshooting within high-pressure environments.
Leadership & Mentorship
Experience coaching engineers, delegating work effectively, and helping teams develop technical maturity and operational ownership.
Clear Communication
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts, incidents, and trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Modern Infrastructure
Experience working with containerisation technologies, orchestration platforms, and distributed event-driven systems such as Kafka.

Comfortable working within Agile environments and collaborating closely with engineering, product, and operational stakeholders.

Job Summary:
This is a captivating and exciting time to join Partnerize. We are at a pivotal point in our tech progression, looking to significantly expand our technical estate, scale the platform, and replace existing legacy systems with modern solutions. You will play a vital role in the ongoing operationalisation and management of our entire platform portfolio found in our on-prem datacentres and AWS cloud: Partnerize, BrandVerity, Ascend, and our recent acquisition, Konnecto. While there will be a key focus on integrating and supporting Konnecto's advanced data and AI layers, a critical pillar of your mission will be spearheading the development of our enterprise on-prem containerisation solution. This initiative is designed to fundamentally shift our engineering culture towards a "you build it, you own it" model. By providing robust, automated container platforms, you will empower our Engineering teams to deploy quickly and independently, significantly reducing the bottleneck created by relying solely on the TechOps department.
We are looking for a Lead SRE who is both a deep technical expert and a capable mentor. In this role, your primary responsibility is ensuring our diverse, hybrid systems remain available, scalable, and secure. You will act as an authoritative Subject Matter Expert (SME), championing developer autonomy, driving IT systems security policies, and working closely with the security compliance team to protect our platforms from threats while driving continuous integration and delivery.This role will report into the SRE and Application Manager providing them with technical guidance and recommendations whilst being the technical lead for the SRE team.

As a Lead SRE, You Will:
Strategic & Operational Management
- Developer Empowerment&Containerisation
- Collaborate on the design, build, and rollout of a robust containerisation strategy (Kubernetes/Docker). Your goal is to assist in delivering a platform that enables Engineering teams to take full ownership of their code from build to deployment.
- Reliability & Error Budgets
- Define Service Level Indicators (SLIs), set Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and manage Error Budgets to expertly balance feature velocity with platform stability.
- Hybrid Platform Engineering & Konnecto
- Build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure across on-prem and AWS. Take the lead technical role in integrating and modernising Konnecto's architecture, ensuring its data ingestion and AI logic layers scale securely.
- FinOps / Cloud Cost Optimisation
- Manage, monitor, and optimise cloud infrastructure spend across our hybrid environments, ensuring architectural decisions are both highly performant and cost-effective.
- CI/CD Pipeline Responsibility
- Responsible for the continuous improvement, continuous delivery, and continuous integration pipelines to facilitate rapid engineering velocity.
People Leadership & Talent Development
- Mentorship
- Deliver coaching sessions to the team and individuals, acting as a technical escalation point and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.
- Workload Management
- Scope the work coming into the SRE team, prioritise hybrid-estate maintenance vs. project delivery, and delegate tasks to team members to ensure prompt resolution.
Security & Architecture
- Design&Threat Modelling
- Produce production-grade application security designs. Perform design reviews and threat modelling of our services and products.
- Security Strategy
- Drive improvements to Partnerize platforms' security through strategic planning, vulnerability assessments, and security testing.
Incident Management&Toil Reduction
Toil Reduction Champion toil reduction through automation, continually identifying manual, repetitive operational work and engineering it out of existence.
Post-Mortems & Escalation
Act as the ultimate escalation point for complex support incidents, participate in the On-Call rotation, lead blameless post-mortems, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and aggressively track metrics like Mean Time To Recovery (MTTR).

- Proven experience managing modern storage layers and databases, specifically MongoDB and Snowflake. Experience supporting complex data ingestion layers, including clickdata streams, S3 raw/parsed ingestion, and Airflow ETL.

- Deep understanding of GitHub and experience implementing or working alongside AI coding tools and practices.

This role operates on a hybrid basis and requires attendance in our Newcastle office two days per month. While some flexibility may be discussed, applicants should be willing and able to work from the office as part of the role.
The Role
We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Manager who is, first and foremost, a people leader.
In this role, your primary responsibility is the health, performance, and career growth of your engineering team. While you must possess a solid technical background to understand the challenges your team faces, your day-to-day focus will not be hands-on technical work. Instead, you will use your experience to remove blockers, guide decision-making, and ensure your engineers have the environment they need to succeed.
The Team You Will Lead
You will lead the Infrastructure Solutions team within the wider Technical Operations department. Your engineers are responsible for building the environment, delivering projects as requested by Engineering and Product, and ensuring we remain available, scalable, and secure. They are not responsible for the BAU function of the platforms that is managed by another team within Technical Operations. The Infrastructure Solutions team takes a concept or idea and makes that into a reality within the boundaries and constraints of our platforms.
You will be managing a team of engineers who individually possess experience in:
- On-Premise Linux systems, Container solutions, Debian packaging, Ansible, data streaming and queuing technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
- Advanced database management knowledge (MySQL, Postgres) in replicated environments.
- Physical Network management, with an on-prem estate that is Juniper focused.
- Cloud environments: GCP and AWS
- Platform engineer focused on building, maintaining and supporting an Internal Developer Platform (CI/CD)

The Role
We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Manager who is, first and foremost, a people leader.
In this role, your primary responsibility is the health, performance, and career growth of your engineering team. While you must possess a solid technical background to understand the challenges your team faces, your day-to-day focus will not be hands-on technical work. Job Summary:
We divide our time between manual and automated testing. We run our automated frameworks in Ruby, using Cypress for the UI tests, with some legacy tests in Selenium webdriver. We primarily do our work on Macbooks with a local Docker environment. You can expect to be supported in your passion for Testing with the opportunities and time to branch out into specialisms such as Load, Performance and Security testing. Our development teams are multidisciplinary with engineers, QA, designers, and product managers working together using Agile principles. Each team is independently organised and autonomous, deciding their own workflow for solving the problems presented to them. All Test Engineers meet to share knowledge and ideas across the teams, and to make cross-team decisions, such as coding standards.
Responsibilities:
- Test from the very beginning of user stories development during Three amigos and Refinement sessions
- Provide code reviews for other Test Engineers
- Become a subject matter expert in your area of the product
- Manage your own workload and approach to how you test, ensuring thorough manual testing as well as adequate automation checks.
- Actively learn and share knowledge and ideas around QA practices or automation framework initiatives that will benefit testing for the product
- Provide feedback during Scrum ceremonies to improve the delivery of the team as a whole

The Role
We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Manager who is, first and foremost, a people leader.
In this role, your primary responsibility is the health, performance, and career growth of your engineering team. While you must possess a solid technical background to understand the challenges your team faces, your day-to-day focus will not be hands-on technical work. Instead, you will use your experience to remove blockers, guide decision-making, and ensure your engineers have the environment they need to succeed.
You will act as the bridge between technical execution and business strategy, team budget management, defining roadmaps, and ensuring operational excellence across a complex hybrid (predominantly on-prem and some cloud) estate.
The Team You Will Lead
You will lead the Infrastructure Solutions team within the wider Technical Operations department. Your engineers are responsible for building the environment, delivering projects as requested by Engineering and Product, and ensuring we remain available, scalable, and secure. They are not responsible for the BAU function of the platforms that is managed by another team within Technical Operations. The Infrastructure Solutions team takes a concept or idea and makes that into a reality within the boundaries and constraints of our platforms.
You will be managing a team of engineers who individually possess experience in:
- On-Premise Linux systems, Container solutions, Debian packaging, Ansible, data streaming and queuing technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
- Advanced database management knowledge (MySQL, Postgres) in replicated environments.
- Physical Network management, with an on-prem estate that is Juniper focused.
- Cloud environments: GCP and AWS
- Platform engineer focused on building, maintaining and supporting an Internal Developer Platform (CI/CD)
