As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for building our brand-new data warehouse in the China market, designing data models, and enhancing the company’s data analytics capabilities. You will leverage your exceptional SQL skills and business acumen to deliver clear, well-defined data.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, data analysts, and the global data engineering team. As a key member of On’s digital transformation project, you will play a vital role in driving the evolution of data-supported processes within the organization.

Your Team

The Data Enablement Team is responsible for building, maintaining, and evolving the company's internal data platforms, products, and processes. Our mission is to empower every On employee to make informed, data-driven decisions that impact business outcomes. This team is part of the broader Data & AI Department.

Your Mission

As On grows, so does our demand for data. You will play a crucial role in this journey, not only by helping build the data blueprint but also by optimizing existing and new data products.

Your core responsibilities include:

Building the Foundation: Establishing a brand-new cloud-based data warehouse, replicating and migrating EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) processes from the existing warehouse, and creating/improving comprehensive technical documentation.Pipeline Optimization: Ensuring all future ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes are built and optimized directly within the new cloud data warehouse.Global Collaboration: Actively communicating and collaborating with the Global Data Engineering team to ensure alignment in methodologies and technical tools, preparing the technical groundwork for future integration with the Global big data platform.Product Development: Partnering with data analysts and data scientists across the organization to further develop our data products.

Your Experience

Technical Proficiency: You are familiar with data warehousing, data modeling, and ELT concepts, and you are an expert in SQL.Programming Skills: You possess programming skills in Python or an equivalent language.Cloud Expertise: You have hands-on experience managing data infrastructure, APIs, data pipelines, and workflow orchestration in cloud environments (experience with Alibaba Cloud MaxCompute and Hologres is highly preferred).Software Engineering: You are familiar with software engineering concepts, including version control, testing, debugging, and technical problem-solving.Communication: You have excellent communication skills and are fluent in navigating cross-cultural and cross-timezone collaboration to ensure seamless alignment with global teams.Problem Solver: You enjoy translating complex business requirements into robust data solutions.Autonomy: You are comfortable multitasking and have the ability to independently manage the entire project lifecycle with minimal supervision.AI-Savvy: You are an adept user of AI tools to assist in coding, optimize workflows, and improve delivery efficiency, staying sharp on cutting-edge technologies.

On is looking for a Senior Lead - Integrated Planning Platform to join our engineering team at our HQ in Zurich. We are seeking a leader who seamlessly combines deep, strategic Supply Chain Planning expertise with a strong software engineering / technical background. In this role, you will lead complex projects and a high-performing team that delivers large-scale planning system solutions—the digital backbone of our global supply chain.

These systems impact several teams across functions and regions, ensuring On's products reach our customers efficiently. Your Mission

- Lead & Empower Teams: Lead, inspire, and grow engineering teams focused on the Integrated Planning Platform. Ensure the team has a clear mission aligned with On's global supply chain goals, encourage a collaborative environment, and balance managing the team closely with giving them the freedom to act with increasing autonomy.

- Supply Chain & Platform Delivery: Be fully accountable for the delivery, timeline, quality, and hiring for your teams. Take on accountability for larger, more complex deliverables by managing risk, anticipating blockers, and addressing uncertainty.

- Technical & Architectural Leadership: Be accountable for the team's technical decisions and solutions, acting as a key contributor to ensure they align with On Tech's architecture north star. You will guide the architecture to seamlessly handle complex supply chain data flows, enterprise system (e.g., ERP) integrations, and high-volume planning cycles.

- Strategic Partnership: Partner tightly with E2E Planning business leaders, product managers, and project management to plan deliverables. You will translate complex supply chain business needs into scalable technical initiatives, define the scope of delivery, and ensure alignment on complex cross-team dependencies.

- Operational Excellence: Ensure the reliable operation of your team's planning systems and adjacent ones in accordance with established SLOs. Your story

- Supply Chain Planning Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree (or 8 years with a Master’s degree). You possess a profound background in the Supply Chain Planning domain, including deep functional knowledge of Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), demand planning, supply network planning, inventory management, and end-to-end supply chain visibility.

- Technical Background: A strong engineering or technical background with a track record of driving impact. You have successfully built, scaled, or integrated enterprise planning architectures, ERP systems, and data-heavy applications in high-growth environments.

- Bonus (Anaplan): While your primary strength is in general technical supply chain planning, hands-on knowledge and experience with Anaplan (or similar enterprise planning platforms) is considered a strong plus.

- People Leadership: Proven experience managing one or more teams of engineers/individual contributors. You have a track record of grooming high performers, actively managing team performance, and driving continuous improvement.

- Navigating Complexity: Demonstrated ability to identify underlying business and technical issues, uncover root causes in complex supply chain data or processes, and deliver solutions to new problems across multiple domains.

- Collaboration & Communication: Strong command of verbal and written communication. You adapt your style seamlessly for cross-functional initiatives, building strong collaborative relationships with technical peers, supply chain stakeholders, and senior leaders.

As Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for building, leading, and scaling this hub, owning the end-to-end engineering strategy, execution, and talent agenda.

Your Story:

• Proven experience leading multiple engineering teams (ICs and Engineering Managers) within complex, fast-moving, product-driven organizations operating at global scale.
• A strong technical foundation with hands-on experience designing and evolving large-scale e-commerce platforms, including customer-facing, transactional, and backend commerce systems.
• Demonstrated experience architecting and delivering Point of Sale (POS) platforms and solutions, including system design for in-store operations, payments, and omnichannel integration.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, platform architecture, and integration patterns, with systems operating across regions and regulatory environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills—you translate technical complexity into clarity, influence decision-making, and create alignment across engineering, product, and business leadership.
