Job Description
Olsson provides multidisciplinary design services for mixed-use, commercial, and residential land development projects, along with industrial, sports, schools, and other site development types. As a Civil Engineer for our Site Design team, you will provide basic project design through CAD drafting, instruct drafters on how to create drawings of designs, and prepare project schedules. You may also perform research, write technical reports, and travel to job sites for observation.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides small scale design elements for engineering projects using fundamental knowledge, standard techniques, and established methods for small to mid-sized projects.
- Performs basic plan production and receives instructions for necessary tasks.
- Develops and applies knowledge and experience working within design and modeling software.
- Assists with preparation of project documentation and schedules and performs design calculations within a limited scope.
- Coordinates with experienced engineers and designers on non-routine techniques and procedures.
- Gathers research, recommends solutions, and creates drafts of technical reports using prescribed methods.
- Mentors student interns by providing opportunities for developing basic technical skills and knowledge.
- Gains experience with creating and maintaining project and client information within the firm’s project management system.

As an Experienced Civil Engineer you will perform a variety of routine engineering assignments that strengthen knowledge and experience with engineering staff, methods, practices, and programs while under direct supervision and mentorship. As the Principal Investigator you will plan, oversee, and support cultural resources investigations and overall responsibility for archaeological investigations. The Olsson Water/Wastewater team is looking for an experienced water and/or sewer modeling engineer to perform hydraulic modeling and master planning to meet the client’s needs from conception to completion. As a modeling engineer, you will perform process design calculations, create population and demand projections, assist with report writing, and attend meetings with the client.
As an Engineer for the Water/Wastewater team, other responsibilities will include providing project design utilizing CAD/modeling software, performing technical analysis, preparing construction documents, providing construction services, performing research, and writing technical reports. Job Description
Olsson provides multidisciplinary design services for mixed-use, commercial, and residential land development projects, along with municipal, industrial, sports, schools, and other site development types.
As a Licensed Civil Engineer, you will independently perform engineering and project management duties on land development projects and meet client needs from conception to completion. You will also process design calculations, assist with developing project scopes and schedules, and travel to job sites for observation.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs various engineering duties related to evaluating, designing, and constructing plans for small to large-sized projects.
- Assists with preparation of project documents and is knowledgeable of project scope, schedule, and budget.
- Performs process design calculations and analyzes reports to prepare cost estimates and determine feasibility of projects.
- Applies knowledge and experience with standard techniques, methods, and procedures to assist with coordination of project design aspects.
- Communicates project development and progress with project managers and/or clients.
- Enters and maintains project information and client records in the firm’s project management system.
- Evaluates and proposes adaptations to standard methods and procedures for components of assignments.
- May supervise and provide technical guidance to less experienced staff.
- May travel and work in all types of terrain and weather conditions at project sites in various stages of construction.
Qualifications

Job Description
Olsson provides multidisciplinary design services for transportation-related projects including urban and rural highways, interchanges, and municipal roadways. As a Senior Engineer for our Roadway team, you will ensure successful project deliverables and completion for complex and high-priority projects that may span across multiple teams. You will also provide direction to the Roadway team and ensure quality execution of key projects that provide purposeful, high-quality solutions to successfully solve engineering and design needs.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provides high-level project design and review of project documents and design quality for complex projects.
- Serves as a technical specialist, applying advanced engineering concepts and developing approaches to solve for complexities.
- Performs QA/QC and ensures delivery of completed designs meets quality standards and project objectives.
- Conducts research in areas of considerable scope and complexity.
- Advises and directs staff on design approaches to fulfill project requirements.
