About the opportunity
We are seeking an IT Audit Manager to drive impact at N26, by taking ownership of the end-to-end IT audit cycle. In this role, you’ll assess risks, evaluate controls, and ensure our systems meet the highest standards of reliability and regulatory compliance. You’ll shape audit plans, dive into data and processes, and deliver clear, actionable insights that influence how we operate.

In this role, you will:
- Own and execute the full IT audit cycle, covering risk and control management to ensure operational effectiveness, system reliability, and compliance with all relevant regulations and directives
- Support the definition of internal audit scope and contribute to the development of annual audit plans
- Review, analyze, and evaluate documentation, reports, data, and process flows across key IT areas, including system development, IT security, and IT operations
- Prepare clear, insightful Internal Audit reports with actionable recommendations
- Ensure Internal Audit activities are conducted in line with established professional and regulatory standards
What you need to be successful:
Background:
- Significant experience as an Internal IT Auditor in an international company operating in a regulated environment, preferably within a bank, financial institution, fintech, or an audit/consulting firm.
- Proven experience in planning, executing, and documenting internal audit activities, including risk assessments, control testing (Test of Design and Test of Effectiveness), reporting findings, and monitoring remediation actions.
- Knowledge and experience in cloud infrastructure audits and corporate IT infrastructure environments, including modern IT architectures and third-party service dependencies.
- Experience in data-driven audit approaches, including SQL-based analysis and large-scale data analysis techniques to support audit testing and control evaluation.
- Good understanding of European financial regulatory frameworks relevant to IT and digital financial services, particularly DORA, EBA guidelines, and national supervisory expectations (MaRisk/BAIT).
- Insight into banking laws, regulatory expectations, and supervisory frameworks, with the willingness and ability to become familiar with local banking regulations, regulatory requirements, and banking IT systems.
Skills:
- Essential knowledge of generally accepted auditing standards and frameworks (e.g., IIA Standards, ITIL 4, ISO 27001).
- Strong understanding of IT General Controls (ITGC) and ICT third-party risk management practices, including outsourcing governance and supplier risk assessments.
- Strong understanding of IT governance, IT audit standards, ICT risk management, and operational resilience frameworks.
- Fluency in English is required and fluency in German is a plus
- High integrity, independence, and professional skepticism
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex IT environments
- Strategic mindset with solid business acumen and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical teams
- Curious, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous learning
- Proficient in audit tools, data analytics, SQL, and reporting systems
- Strong understanding of controls, risk management, and process optimization

About the opportunity
The Senior Manager, Business Audit supports internal audit activities across the N26 group, including external contractors and subsidiaries, in line with professional and regulatory standards. Key responsibilities include developing and executing a comprehensive risk-based annual audit plan, managing the full audit cycle to ensure operational effectiveness, compliance, and reliability, and auditing both in-house and outsourced processes. The position requires preparing detailed audit reports, regularly communicating findings and agreed actions to management and committees, monitoring timely resolution of issues, participating in strategic projects while maintaining independence, and supervising junior auditors to ensure high-quality outputs.
In this role, you will:
- Conduct and support all business internal audit activities within the N26 group including external contractors
- Prepare and where necessary lead the full audit cycle including risk management and control management over business operations’ effectiveness, reliability and compliance with all applicable directives and regulations
- Prepare and where necessary lead a comprehensive risk-based annual audit plan for business functions, including product, customer operations, sales, marketing, and partnerships
- Audit all activities and processes, including those outsourced at appropriate intervals and of all subsidiaries performed in accordance with established professional and regulatory standards
- Prepare the internal audit reports as per requirements with strong focus on attention to details of specific boundaries of the audit/s defined scope
- Prepare written reports on each audit and submit to the responsible members of the management board and communicate the outcomes / agreed actions to specific team members, this includes regular reporting to management board and committees
- Monitor in an appropriate form whether the findings identified during the audit are remedied within the specified timeframe
- Participate in key projects, while guarding independence, avoiding conflicts of interest and maintain internal audit policies and procedures
- Supervise and review the audit outputs of junior team members enabling them to be successful in their role
What you need to be successful:
Background:
- Successfully completed degree in economics or comparable training.
- Gained at least 7 years working experience as Internal Auditor in an international company, in a regulated environment. Preferably in a bank or other financial institution or an audit company.
- High degree of process understanding as well as profound knowledge in the areas of online banking and retail products.
- Very good insight into Banking laws & requirements, and willing to become acquainted with local specific Banking laws, standard banking requirements as well as banking IT-Systems.
- Good English (and German) language skills. Any other European language is a plus.

About the opportunity
The Audit Operations Senior Manager is responsible for the operational policy and support processes of Internal Audit. This role ensures that reporting, data analytics, audit tools, and the organizational framework of the audit function are operated efficiently and continuously developed. The objective is to support the auditing function through a structured data foundation, reliable reporting, and a stable system landscape, while ensuring transparency regarding audit activities and findings.
In this role, you will:
- Audit Governance & Methodology: Support Maintain and further develop the operational framework of the Internal Audit function, including methodologies, operational standards, and supporting governance processes.
- Audit Quality Assurance: Manage the Internal Audit Quality Assurance and Improvement Program in Internal audit
- Audit Reporting: Prepare and consolidate quarterly and annual Internal Audit reports for senior management and governance bodies, including analysis of audit coverage, findings, and remediation status.
- Audit Data Analytics: Develop and perform data analyses to support audit activities, including trend analysis of findings, risk indicators, and remediation progress.
- Audit Systems Administration: Operate and maintain the Internal Audit systems landscape, including administration and continuous improvement of Audimax and the Jira Audit project.
- Issue & Findings Monitoring: Oversee the tracking and monitoring of audit findings and remediation measures, ensuring transparency on remediation progress and escalation of delays where necessary.
- Audit Process Support: Support auditors with operational aspects of the audit lifecycle, including reporting structures, system usage, and data preparation.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Act as central coordination point between Internal Audit, IT, and other control functions regarding audit tools, reporting requirements, and data availability.
- Continuous Improvement of Audit Operations: Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, and data-driven decision making within Internal Audit operations.
What you need to be successful:
Background:
- Successfully completed degree in economics, business administration, finance, information systems, or comparable training.
- Gained at least 7 years of relevant professional experience in Internal Audit, Audit Operations, Audit Methodology, or a related control function within an international company operating in a regulated environment. Preferably within a bank, financial institution, or audit/consulting firm.
- Strong understanding of Internal Audit governance, methodology, quality assurance, and the end-to-end audit lifecycle, including reporting, issue tracking, remediation monitoring, and audit systems administration.
- Sound knowledge of banking regulatory requirements and professional internal audit standards, with the ability to translate these into effective audit methodologies, governance processes, and operational frameworks. Familiarity with banking IT systems, audit tools, and data environments is highly desirable.
- Good English and German language skills. Any other European language is a plus.

- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across Internal Audit, IT, and other control functions
- Strong proficiency in audit tools, reporting systems, and data analytics, including the ability to derive meaningful insights from audit data, findings trends, risk indicators, and remediation progress.
- Strong expertise in preparing, consolidating, and quality assuring quarterly and annual Internal Audit reports for senior management and governance bodies, with a clear focus on audit coverage, findings, thematic risk developments, and remediation status.
- Excellent presentation skills, including the ability to present complex audit matters, reporting outputs, and key risk messages in a clear, concise, and management-appropriate manner to senior stakeholders and committees.
- Deep understanding of Internal Audit methodology, quality assurance, issue and findings monitoring, and the operational support processes required to run an effective audit function.
- Strong drafting and reporting skills, with a high degree of precision, attention to detail, and sound legal and factual subsumption.
- Ability to produce robust, defensible, and decision-oriented reporting and management presentations.
- Strong focus on continuous improvement, operational efficiency, automation, and data-driven decision-making within the Internal Audit function.
- Leadership capability in audit quality assurance, audit operations, and the ongoing enhancement of audit governance and methodology.
