You've worked on YouTube content where you saw your creative decisions move retention, watch time, or audience response in real time, and that feedback shaped your taste.

The Creative Development Generalist/Specialist sits at the front of MrBeast's creative development pipeline. You'll receive title and thumbnail concepts, develop them into pitchable video frameworks, and present those frameworks live, weekly, to senior creative leadership. Your judgment about what belongs on the channel — and what doesn't — is the core of the job. AI is a tool you'll use daily to generate volume and pressure-test ideas, the way writers used to use whiteboards. The taste, the filtering, and the editorial calls are yours.

What You'll Do

• Receive title and thumbnail concepts or creative briefs, run them through our internal AI creative system, and generate up to 500 raw concept directions per video
• Filter those directions down to the strongest 50–100 using deep knowledge of the channel's format history, YouTube-first principles, challenge mechanics, performance metrics and audience behavior 
• Develop the strongest candidates into fully pitchable video concepts: frameworks, challenge structure, elimination mechanics, key visual moments, and emotional payoff
• Present and verbally defend your selections in live weekly pitch sessions with senior creative leadership
• Work multiple concepts simultaneously at different stages of development, cycling them through feedback and revision until greenlit for production
• Document into decks what you generated and why you discarded it — your filtering logic is as important as your final selections
• Build and maintain a living library of challenge mechanics, elimination formats, and visual bit templates the broader creative team can reference
• Monitor trends in YouTube format and challenge design to bring outside references into the development process
• Leverage data & analytics in retention and trends to inform the best creative for the largest global audience in the world

What You'll Bring

Required

• You've worked on a YouTube channel, in a creator studio, or in a content operation where output volume was high and audience response was fast and measurable. You've seen the feedback loop between a creative call and an audience reacting to it.
• Deep, demonstrated familiarity with MrBeast's content catalog — format history, challenge mechanics, elimination structures, and what has and has not worked on the channel.
• Active daily use of AI tools (Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, or equivalent) as a genuine part of how you already work — must be able to show the work, not just describe it.
• Strong editorial judgment: ability to evaluate hundreds of ideas rapidly, identify the handful worth pursuing, and explain the reasoning without ambiguity. 
• Live pitching ability: must be able to present and verbally defend creative selections in a high-stakes environment with senior stakeholders. 

Preferred

• Background in game design, competition format development, or puzzle construction — fields where tension, fairness, and payoff are explicit design problems
• Experience in any creative role requiring rapid curation of large volumes of raw material under deadline
• Ability to speak in depth about specific MrBeast format patterns

About the Role: As the Creative Producer, you will own both the story and the production for unscripted/lifestyle videos - from concept approval through final cut, and from pre-production through wrap. This is a hybrid creative and producing role: you are the senior creative content authority on the channel and will work closely with the Channel Manager/LP who to ensure every shoot happens on time, on budget, and at the quality bar required. You'll direct on-camera talent, shape narrative architecture in pre-production, partner closely with the Lead Editor in post, and personally produce every shoot in the field.

This role is for someone who can hold both sides of production at once - the creative instincts to find the story in real moments, and the operational discipline to plan a shoot down to the minute. It's a builder role for someone who can think like a creator, direct like a showrunner, and run a set like a seasoned producer. If that sounds like you, we want to hear from you!

What You'll Do:

• Own end-to-end creative execution from approved concept through final cut - accountable for story quality at every stage.
• Direct on-camera talent on set, drawing out authentic performance, managing energy, and ensuring the creative intent is captured.
• Develop story architecture for each video - hook, escalation, payoff, and mid-video resets defined before shoot day.
• Collaborate with the Lead Editor on pacing, narrative structure, and retention - active presence in the edit, not a hand-off role.
• Oversee production for every shoot in partnership with the Channel Manager/Line Producer - serve as the creative content authority on set, hold the day to plan, and ensure scheduling, budgeting, location, crew, and logistics decisions support the creative vision.
• Anticipate production bottlenecks two shoots ahead and solve problems before they become emergencies.
• Pressure-test concepts before production; flag both creative and operational risk early, and feed learnings back into the ideation process.
• Maintain and evolve the channel's creative voice, and establish an editorial standard that the Lead Editor and future hires can execute against consistently.

What You'll Bring:

• 6–10+ years directing or producing YouTube or relevant unscripted and/or lifestyle content, with a body of high-retention, high-quality long-form work.
• Demonstrated experience directing non-scripted talent and finding the story in real people and real moments.
• Expert narrative instincts - you can diagnose where a video loses its audience and prescribe the fix.
• Proven ability to manage production budgets and schedules from pre-production through delivery.
• Experience producing on-location shoots with lean crews in fast-moving environments.
• Exceptional organizational precision - nothing falls through the cracks, and shoot day problems get solved, not escalated.
• A clear, specific, and actionable communication style - your notes move people forward.
• Ability to think both creatively and analytically, understanding pacing alongside the data that reinforces good instinct.
• Calm and decisive under pressure - you protect the creative team from operational friction.
• Background in scrappy, fast-moving creator environments where infrastructure had to be built, not inherited (preferred).
• Existing relationships with production crew or vendors in the Southeast US (preferred).
• Familiarity with AI-assisted ideation workflows (preferred).
• Ability to work onsite in Greenville, NC (relo support provided).

At MrBeast, Creative is 3 things. What we think will happen, what actually happens, and the best story we tell of what happened. As a Director, you are accountable for all three.

You will unmatched ownership over various video projects at various stages, making real-time decisions to protect the creative vision from the kick-off with title and thumbnail through the final edit. You work with the creatives in pre-production to make the best outline of the video possible through concepts, testing, and formats. On set, you will make vital creative decisions that shape the video. This involves real-time writing, problem-solving, and collaborating with production, talent, and contestants, all while keeping the viewer's experience in mind. You will also participate actively in post-production reviews, working to leave notes and feedback to ensure the final product is exceptional. 

You are the single source of creative truth for your projects, ensuring that the hundreds of decisions made during production align with the core creative vision.
