About the Job:

We're looking for an engineering manager for our Warehouse Scale team. In this role, you'll lead the team that builds and operates the foundational data infrastructure powering LaunchDarkly's warehouse-native products — data export pipelines, warehouse health checks, and warehouse connection setup.

You'll bring a balance of people management and technical leadership as you drive the development of critical platform infrastructure and foster a high-performing, collaborative engineering culture. You'll partner closely with Product Management and cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable systems that enterprise customers depend on.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop a team of backend engineers, providing coaching, feedback, and career growth opportunities

• Partner with PM and Design to scope, estimate, and sequence roadmap items, making scope tradeoffs in real time

• Own the team's delivery of critical infrastructure — data export pipelines, DAG orchestration, warehouse health checks, and connection setup

• Collaborate with adjacent teams (Warehouse Integrations, Experimentation, Data Platform) on shared infrastructure decisions and cross-team dependencies

• Communicate roadmaps, risks, and progress clearly to engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders

• Build team working norms that promote collaboration, reduce silos, and keep engineers engaged

• Drive operational excellence — improve reliability, observability, and incident response for production data infrastructure

• Participate in hiring to grow the team and raise the engineering bar

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years managing a team of backend or infrastructure engineers

• Experience building or operating data infrastructure at scale — pipelines, orchestration frameworks, or data platform systems

• Proven ability to partner with Product Management to translate business goals into engineering plans with reliable estimations

• Strong communication skills, especially in distributed team environments with cross-timezone collaboration

• Track record of coaching and developing engineers, including performance management, career growth planning, and technical mentorship

• Familiarity with observability practices (metrics, tracing, alerting, structured logging) and comfort with production incident response

• Experience with Go or comparable backend languages (Java, Python, Rust) is a plus

• Familiarity with data warehouse platforms (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Databricks) and data pipeline tooling (Airflow, Prequel) is a plus

About the Job:

LaunchDarkly is looking for a Full Stack Engineer to help build and expand Vega, our AI-powered platform that surfaces insights and automates actions across LaunchDarkly products. This is a greenfield opportunity: you'll help evolve Vega from an Observability-focused assistant into a cross-product platform that serves Feature Management customers and powers a new, usage-based SKU.

You'll build the surfaces, APIs, and agent infrastructure that make Vega and the whole Observability platform broadly valuable—enabling capabilities like AI-driven dashboard creation, flag cleanup automation, and sandboxed agent execution. What You'll Work On:

• Expand Vega beyond Observability into Feature Management, including the flag cleanup agent as a cross-product capability
• Support enterprise capabilities for the Observability platforms: building data import and export pipelines to connect O11y to other platforms and enabling new customer workflows.
• Build a platform that other teams can contribute to—defining contribution patterns, shared infrastructure, and safe, sandboxed AI agent execution
• Enable dashboard creation via natural language prompts, using existing Vega infrastructure as a foundation
• Consolidate Vega usage into fewer, higher-value surfaces, enabling faster iteration and justifying a usage-based monetization model
• Run experiments to expose Vega to mainstream FM customers across core workflows, measuring adoption and informing monetization
• Partner with product and design to ensure Vega capabilities are intuitive, well-integrated, and impactful for end users
• Contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews, and engineering standards across the Observability and Vega teams

About the Job:

The Warehouse Integrations team at Launchdarkly builds the infrastructure that lets LaunchDarkly customers connect their enterprise data warehouses to unlock advanced capabilities like warehouse-native experimentation and real-time metrics.

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll be a key architect for scaling this platform and expanding our warehouse integrations footprint. Qualifications:

• 8+ years of professional backend software engineering experience, with a demonstrated track record of designing and shipping scalable, production-grade systems in complex domains

• Proven expertise in distributed systems design and implementation, including experience with topics such as consistency models, replication, consensus, and failure handling in large-scale environments

• Strong programming proficiency in Go, Java, Rust, or C++ with the ability to ramp up quickly on new technologies and languages

• Solid understanding of domain modeling and system design principles, particularly for building reusable abstractions, internal frameworks, and integration infrastructure

• Hands-on experience designing and building scalable APIs that support both internal tooling and customer-facing integrations

• Proficiency with observability best practices including metrics, structured logging, distributed tracing, and alerting, with experience diagnosing complex production issues in distributed systems

• Familiarity with modern data warehouse and analytics platforms, including understanding of data models, query optimization, and integration patterns is a bonus

• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent) for managing cloud infrastructure at scale
