TITLE: (Senior) Lunar Scientist

LOCATION: Luxembourg

ABOUT THE ROLE

The (Senior) Lunar Scientist will contribute to the scientific definition, planning, and execution of ispace’s lunar rover and lander missions. Working closely with the science program lead within the ispace Europe Mission Design & Operations Team, you will help shape science objectives, target selection, traverse design, and surface activity planning. The central part of the role is producing geological and operational mapping products to support rover mission planning. This includes integrating remote-sensing datasets and analyzing terrain conditions, environmental constraints, and candidate science targets.

You will work closely with mission operations and engineering teams to ensure scientific objectives can be executed safely within rover mobility and operational constraints. The role also includes contributing to pre-mission readiness activities, simulation campaigns, and post-mission data interpretation to maximize scientific return.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Support science target selection, surface activity planning, and traverse design for rover missions ensuring analyses can be translated into clear operational guidance.

Develop lunar geological and operational maps for rover mission planning by integrating imagery, spectral datasets, topographic models, and illumination data.

Assess terrain conditions, slopes, surface roughness, and potential hazards to support safe rover mobility and traverse planning.

Assist the development and maintenance of science traceability, ensuring that objectives, observation requirements, and planned activities remain aligned throughout mission design and operations.

Participate in pre-mission readiness activities, including field testing simulation campaigns and validation of operational constraints against science intent.

Work closely with Mission Operations and Engineering teams to align science objectives within system constraints.

Support rover mission operations from the science backroom providing input to daily activity and traverse planning.

Contribute to post-mission data analysis, reporting, and scientific publication.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Planetary Science, Geology, Geophysics, or a related field.

5+ years of relevant experience in planetary or lunar science, or equivalent research experience, including data analysis or mission participation.

Solid understanding of lunar geology, polar processes, and volatile stability indicators.

Experience working with planetary remote-sensing datasets, including orbital imagery topographic, thermal and spectral data.

Experience with GIS and geospatial data toolchains (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS).

Strong technical communication skills, with experience producing structured scientific or technical deliverables.

Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work across science, engineering, and operations domains.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with planetary mission operations including surface activity planning or science - operations integration.

Experience supporting simulation campaigns or pre-mission readiness activities.

Flight console, mission backroom, or comparable mission support experience would be considered an asset.

Proficiency in Python or equivalent scripting languages for data analysis and automation.

Experience developing automated or semi-automated analysis workflows using remote sensing and terrain datasets.

Experience in generating and analysing digital elevation models (DEMs)

Record of peer-reviewed publications or mission-related deliverables.

TITLE: Electrical AIT Engineer

LOCATION: Luxembourg

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Electrical AIT Engineer, you will support the electrical and mechanical integration of Flight Models and execute software functional and regression testing. You will design, assemble, verify, and validate Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) and integrate and test Flatrover platforms. Additionally, you will contribute to full system integration and environmental test campaigns.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define test plans, cases, and detailed procedures for electrical and functional testing at subsystem and system level.

Identify, design, and develop EGSE required for functional and environmental testing.

Coordinate and execute electrical and functional verification for rover platforms, including preparation, test execution, and post-test analysis.

Lead functional, performance, and regression test campaigns onsite and at external facilities.

Integrate Flatsat/Flatrover configurations and ensure operability throughout mission development.

Provide structured feedback from AIT results to software, robotics, electronics, and systems engineering teams to enable rapid corrective actions and design improvements.

Investigate non-conformances arising during test campaigns.

Generate and maintain test documentation (procedures, logs, reports) in compliance with Quality Management System requirements.

Implement lessons learned to improve future product lines in terms of testability, manufacturability, and integration efficiency.

Contribute to test automation initiatives to enhance repeatability and reliability.

Support risk management by identifying integration or test risks and proposing mitigation measures.

Contribute to the review of electronic and robotic architecture, anticipating integration and validation risks and/or issues and providing feedback as required.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related disciplines.

Minimum 5 years of experience in integration and testing of complex, highly integrated systems.

Strong hands-on experience with electrical integration, testing tools, lab equipment, and EGSE development.

Proficiency in preparing and executing automated or semi-automated test scripts.

Knowledge of system-level testing (RF, EMC, functional, structural/thermal model tests, radiation).

Excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.

Fluency in English, written and spoken.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

Spacecraft integration and verification experience.

Certifications in electrical integration skills (e.g., crimping, soldering).

TITLE: Senior Business Development Specialist

LOCATION: Luxembourg

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Business Development Specialist will play a key role in driving growth across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. You will identify and secure new business opportunities, cultivate strong customer relationships, and generate revenue across ispace’s suite of lunar services and products. This role combines strategy, negotiation, and storytelling to drive meaningful business growth. You will also represent ispace Europe at international events, helping expand our presence in the new era of lunar exploration.

The position will be based in Luxembourg, on-site and will report to the EU Business Director. It will closely collaborate with ispace EUROPE’s other Business Team members as well as business teams in ispace’s Japan and US offices and technical teams across ispace globally.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Create and drive opportunities for ispace through proactive engagement to seed or advance leads and relationships with prospective customers, or other key actors in the space sector or adjacent relevant sectors.

Manage revenue-generating opportunities through the full business development pipeline, from proactive lead generation through to signed sales agreements.

Develop market segment strategies to realise revenue for ispace across lunar services and products in the EMEA region, in collaboration with the EU Business Director

Develop and implement tactical action plans to implement market sector strategies and achieve sales/revenue targets.

Develop and maintain relationships with ispace partners and customers, proactively investigating and identifying new opportunities to increase ispace revenue or advance ispace’s interests.

Proposal/bid management, including facilitating win strategy and value proposition development and managing content contribution from across ispace business and technical teams.

Lead proposal/tender content writing and editing to produce succinct, winning submissions.

Lead contract negotiations to achieve ispace business objectives in sales and collaboration agreements, in partnership with ispace legal advisers.

Represent ispace at conferences and events, including presenting ispace plans and achievements to audiences.

Foster a culture of collaboration by mentoring and supporting other members of the business team.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in international business, Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing, Space Management or Engineering.

8+ years of experience in business development, including market segment strategy development; experience in sales of technical products or services is an advantage.

Proven track record of converting leads to successful contracts.

Strong contract negotiation skills and experience managing proposals and complex tender submissions.

Experience in space or aerospace business development and sales.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and networking skills.

Proven ability to lead teams and contribute effectively as a team member.

Fluent in English; additional languages such as French, German, Italian, Spanish, or Japanese are a plus.
