Production Operator
The primary purpose of this position is to load and unload bulk products, manufacture liquid products, and package finished products in non-bulk containers that meets the needs and quality of our customers.
The hours for this position are Monday-Thursday 12:00pm-10:30pm CST. Training will take place on 1st shift during the week for 2–4 months, but you’ll still receive the shift premium during that time.
Primary responsibilities include:
The following responsibilities for the Production Department are general in nature. Responsibilities will vary among employees based on the area of the plant they may be working. The Production Manager or Shift Supervisor will assign any individual responsibilities that may be needed.
- All containers are to be inspected inside and out prior to filling. (Read and follow Container Inspection and filling S.O.P.)
- All reactors are to be cleaned prior to manufacturing products. (Follow GMP SOP's for Recordkeeping and Manufacturing Equipment Cleaning and Inspection.)
- Prescribed safety equipment must be used and worn while filling and mixing (see Production Worksheet and PPE Certifications).
- Each employee is responsible for ensuring the product meets all quality standards before product leaves the production area (this includes filtering of liquid products.).
- All Production Department employees are responsible for the safety and cleanliness of the production areas.
- All tank trucks must be inspected prior to loading and unloading. (Read and follow Tank Truck Bulk Loading and Tank Truck Unloading SOP's).
- All paperwork must be reviewed before loading or unloading. (Read and follow Tank Truck Loading, Tank Truck Unloading, and Railcar Unloading SOP's).
- Production schedules and Batch Records are to be reviewed to ensure correct raw materials are used and order of addition is followed.
- Perform tote cleaning per procedure and maintain records for product service, tote testing in the prism tote tracking system.
- Perform weekly area (as designated by supervisor) inspections, complete filter log, and all other logs, complete and hand in inspection checklist at required time.
- Review Catalyst weekly for training requirements and have all training and sop’s reviewed by the due date.
- Attend all required training when scheduled unless absent from work.
- Uphold Hydrite’s Standard of Excellence through a continuous commitment to maintain quality facilities and provide quality products and services to internal and external customers
- Perform all duties outlined in relevant SOPs and all other duties to be assigned.
- Participate Emergency Response Team, RCRA, regulatory, health & safety and process training activities as required.
- Complete Maximo service requests for equipment identified as needing repair.
REPORTING STRUCTURE
- This position reports to the Production Supervisor.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of two years experience preferred in chemical processing or other manufacturing industry.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Office
- Must have communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English.
- During the pre-employment process, you will be required to do a drug screening.

PROCESS OPERATOR
The primary purpose of this position is to be responsible for the operation of chemical processes (adjusting variables such as temperature, pressure, feed rate, sampling, etc.).
This is a 5-2-2-5 3rd Shift position schedule (6PM to 6:30AM) and requires every other weekend.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Comply with all safety and regulatory compliance programs.
- Maintain housekeeping in assigned areas while working in a safe manner & following all established SOP’s
- Use the PPE as specified in the SOP's.
- Be an active member of the emergency response team and associated training.
- Fill out the regulatory paperwork, inspections, and checklists as assigned meeting the intent of the regulations.
- Maintain regulatory compliance (RCRA, Title V, Air Permits, and OSHA regulations) in assigned areas.
- Participate in mandatory Environmental, Health, & Safety and process specific training.
- Communicate to shift supervisor or senior operator compliance, safety, and equipment needs as personally identified.
- Fill out the daily and weekly inspections check sheets as assigned.
- Fill out all vessel batch logs, reports, manifests, check sheets, etc. as assigned.
- Complete prism tasks for material transfers move tickets, material usage, prism logs, and work orders, raw material inventory, produced inventory, and ensure compliance to PRISM and ISO 9001:2000 SOP’s and documentation as directed by the shift supervisor or senior operator.
- Operate processes (adjusting variables such as temperature, pressure, feed rate, sampling, etc.) in accordance with SOP’s; notify shift supervisor or senior operator of deviations from the SOP’s
- Recording information, such as ingredients, weights, and temperature, and input into the database.
- Storing, retrieving, mixing, and monitoring chemicals used in the production process.
- Troubleshooting issues with production equipment and processes.
- Monitor chemical treatment machines and instruments, including flow meters and machine dials, to ensure machinery is operating correctly at all times.
- Respond to warning signals and alarms that indicate issues have arisen, taking all necessary precautions to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Monitor the chemical process using controls, panel boards and other input devices to operate the manual and semi-automatic machinery.
- Take chemical samples and perform tests to ensure the process is progressing properly.
- Regulate or turn off machines in emergency situations and follow all instructions from supervisory staff quickly and precisely.
- Perform auxiliary tasks such as tank transfers, bulk truck or railcar loading/unloading, container emptying and filling, dumping bags and supersacks, sampling, pump outs, etc.
- Recommend changes in SOP’s and process-related equipment.
REPORTING STRUCTURE
- This position reports to the production supervisor.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Office.
- Ability to operate a forklift; previous experience preferred.
- Must have communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English.

OPPORTUNITY

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL CRITERIA
- Must be self-motivated and be able to work independently.
- Must have communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Valid driver’s license required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to stand or walk up to 12 hours per shift.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. multiple times per shift, lift 100lbs. on occasion.
- Must be able to climb steps and ladders up to 40 feet high several times daily
- Ability to wear a respirator for up to 4 hours a day without restrictions. Please refer to the SOP for facial hair guidelines.
- Ability to meet DOT vision requirements.

Production Operator
The primary purpose of this position is product manufacturing; blending and packaging. This position will uphold the Hydrite “Standards of Excellence” through continuous commitment to customer satisfaction, both internal and external.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Perform production and filling duties according to existing SOPs including the inspection and maintenance of hoses, connections, valves, tote valves, filters, bungs and gaskets and the preparation and application of labels.
- Clean reactors prior to manufacturing or compounding different products according to existing SOPs.
- Ensure product meets all quality standards before it leaves the production area.
- Load and unload tank trucks according to existing SOPs, including inspection of truck and review of applicable paperwork.
- Review production schedules, fill out production paperwork and take samples to the lab.
- Unload incoming tankers, rail and barges according to SOP.
- Responsible for cleanliness of production areas as well as maintaining “Good Housekeeping” practices throughout the warehouse. Assure production area is neat and clean for shift change.
- Perform daily, weekly and monthly product and facility inspections to ensure adherence to Hydrite’s quality standards.
- Read all applicable SOPP updates each month and complete SOPP review form.
- Accountable for inventory accuracy.
- Return all unused raw materials to proper area and record on production worksheets any difference in original.
- Uphold Hydrite’s Standard of Excellence through a continuous commitment to maintain quality facilities and provide quality products and services to internal and external customers.

OPPORTUNITY
The primary purpose of this position is to address the operational needs such as handling, manufacturing and loading of industrial chemicals to meet customer demand. Through the environmentally safe operations of the facility, in effective and efficient manner, Production Operator plays an important role in helping Hydrite Chemical Company supply its customers with a quality product in a timely fashion. Production Operator always strives for continuous improvement in his performance to achieve a goal of 100% satisfaction for both internal and external customers.
MULTIPLE SHIFTS AVAILABLE:
- FRI-SUN with ALT THURS 7am-7:30pm (+ $3 Shift differential!)
- FRI-SUN with ALT THURS 7pm-7:30am (+ $5 Shift differential!)
Training will take place on 1st shift during the week for 4-6 months, but you’ll still receive the shift premium during that time.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES
- Move bulk trailers to and from the truck bay following safety rules for driving the tractor trailers.
- Unload raw materials following the Tank Truck Bulk Unloading SOP.
- Manufacture finished products in the production equipment according to a specific production worksheet.
- Load bulk trailers following the Tank Truck Bulk Loading SOP.
- Create schedules for all incoming and outgoing materials, as well as manufactured products.
- Maintain and update inventory of chemicals on PRISM system.
- Responsible for following “Good Manufacturing Practices” in manufacturing processes and housekeeping in all interior and exterior areas of the facility.
- Comply with company’s safety and regulatory programs. Always perform any task in a safe and environmentally sound way.
- Communicate to your supervisor compliance, safety, and equipment needs.
- Uphold Hydrite’s Standard of Excellence through a continuous commitment to maintain quality facilities and provide quality products and services to internal and external customers.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL CRITERIA
- 2+ years of Delta V experience.
- Chemical manufacturing experience preferred.
- Must be self-motivated and be able to work.
- Must have communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak.
- Valid drivers license required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to stand or walk up to 12 hours per day.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 multiple times per shift, lift 100 lbs. on occasion.
- Must be able to climb steps and ladders up to 40 feet high several times
- Ability to wear a respirator for up to 4 hours a day without restrictions. Please refer to the SOP for facial hair guidelines.
- Must meet DOT vision requirements.

PRODUCTION MANAGER
The primary purpose of this position is to own and champion the day-to-day activities at Laurens for all production activities as it pertains to safety, environmental, GMP, and production. To provide leadership and support to attain critical short- and long-term strategic goals vital to the success of the plant to drive, safety, quality, efficiency, and cost savings.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Leads and supports Hydrite’s Safety Vision, Mission and Values.
- Direct management of all production activities including product manufacturing, packaging, and truck loading/unloading.
- Accountable for the safety and quality performance of all production areas under direct management.
- Adheres and enforces safety and regulatory policies and procedures through continuous audit and reeducation processes.
- Assure departmental compliance with Hydrite SOP’s, Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, and External Agencies.
- Creates, maintains and updates operation procedures, batch records, checklist, job aids and training documents to drive safety, quality and GMP initiatives.
- Manage operator training progression through frequent performance evaluations and coaching.
- Review daily production schedules, communicate, and align production priorities to meet customer needs.
- Continuously evaluates, recommends, and implements continuous improvements to the plant processes to reduce operation cost.
- Works closely with plant manager and maintenance to identify process improvements, preventive maintenance, commissioning and startup of new processes and equipment.
- Responsible for the completion of action items generated from incidents, audits (internal/external), customer complaints, and MOC within the requested due dates or set by you and your team.
- Recommends required labor resources for efficient operation to meet the business objective.
- Manage production activities to meet the expectations laid out in the Annual Plant Goals.
- Works with the EHS department to ensure that safety and regulatory compliance training is conducted to meet Hydrite and regulatory agency requirements.
- Serve on the branch Emergency Response Team.
- Guides employee performance and development using daily communication, annual performance evaluations, Safe Behavioral Visits, and Leadership Standard of Work.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required, natural sciences and/or business focused.

- Three years’ management experience. Manufacturing experience required; chemical experience preferred.
- Must have excellent analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of Power Point, Word, and Excel are required.
- Previous ERP experience required.
- Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to remain seated for up to two hours at a time, ability to stand for an extended period of time, ability to climb stairs, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

Production Supervisor
Shift for this position is Friday-Sunday with Alternating Thursdays 6am-6:30pm
The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and executing safety protocols as well as the Hydrite mission statement. This includes empowering each employee to be accountable and responsible for their efforts and attitudes to guarantee 100% customer satisfaction. The Production Supervisor is a leader and has operational responsibility for continuously improving safety, quality and productivity within the Hydrite TH facility. The Production Supervisor is responsible for teaching, coaching and mentoring employee activities as they pertain to safety, environmental compliance, customer orders, quality/GMP requirements and administrative functions. This position will be compliant with policy No: SF010AF.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Owner of safety and actively lead employees to be compliant in all employee safety, food safety, environmental compliance and quality.
- Complete and follow up on all accident, incident and near miss investigations per AD052AF.
- Ensure all duties outlined in relevant SOPs (GMPs) are understood and adhered to including but not limited to PPE adherence and daily housekeeping.
- Identify and correct behaviors that impact slip, trip and fall hazards as well as strain and chemical exposure hazards.
- Serve as Incident Commander (IC) for incidents on shift and lead ERT response initiatives. Implement Leadership Standard Work practices in daily routine including documented Safe Behavior Visits (SBVs), shift meetings and department walkarounds.
- Assist in permit requirements. This includes LOTO, confined space entry and hot work.
- Participate in regulatory, health and safety compliance and process training initiatives.
- Responsible for reporting food safety problems to Process Managers, Manufacturing Manager and Quality Management upon observation of known or potential issues.
- Possess knowledge and compliance of Hydrite’s safety, regulator and work rules.
- Supervisor is the lead contact for operators on shift to address operations concerns, direct personnel labor needs and promote employee engagement and teamwork to meet facility needs.
- Provides daily communication to and from operators and management.
- Proactively coach, teach and mentor employees using daily communication as well as periodic and annual performance evaluations.
- Document employee performance on T-charts and recognize and reward where appropriate.
- Promotes employee engagement and teamwork.
- Ensure all employee training is completed on time. Identify additional training requirements where appropriate.
- Active member of the emergency response team.
- Works with all departments within the plant including EH&S, production, warehouse, customer service, and branch buyers. Identifies and implements improvement initiatives.
- Supports effective communication with all Hydrite departments where responsibilities overlap to ensure success of the branch team.
- Provide back-up support as necessary. This includes weekend.

- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
