The Sales Development team is the first point of contact with prospective Gong customers. Gong is all about continued growth, and we need an inspiring leader to join us as we continue our mission to unlock reality and help people reach their full potential!
As Gong’s newest Sales Development Manager, you’ll get to build, coach, and lead a world-class team that focuses on targeting and creatively prospecting into our ideal customer profile. Using your operational rigour, emphasis on data-driven decision making, and servant leadership, you’ll empower your team to become masters of their prospecting craft. Leading with account strategy, and building a robust pipeline you’ll build a culture centered around winning as a team, enjoying the ride, whilst encouraging diversity, & ensuring accountability.
NOTE: This position is a hybrid-based role (office 3 days a week and remote 2 days)
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Hire, coach, and manage a team of Sales Development Representatives
- Build & iterate on a data-driven outbound and inbound strategy
- Foster an environment of high performance & accountability
- Develop the sales, product, and industry skills of each team member
- Motivate team members through creative incentives
- Regularly report on both Team and Individual Results
- Identify and make recommendations for improvement in the areas of Process, Efficiency, and Productivity
- Work cross-functionally with Marketing on key initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years Management experience in Software Sales and/or 5+ years experience as a SaaS AE
- Experience building and scaling a team from the ground up
- Consistent track record of 100%+ quota achievement as an individual contributor
- Proven track record of success in an SDR Manager role
- Experience managing and improving Sales Development KPIs
- Second European language preferred but not essential

At its core, this role will implement a creative Outbound strategy with the goal of engaging with our future raving fans. You’ll drive success through cross-functional initiatives while optimizing the playbook that takes our SDR Team to the next level!
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Hire, coach, and manage a team of Outbound Sales Development Reps
- Build & iterate on a data-driven Outbound strategy
- Foster an environment of high performance & accountability
- Develop the sales, product, and industry skills of each team member
- Motivate team members through creative incentives
- Regularly report on both Team and Individual Results
- Identify and make recommendations for improvement in the areas of Process, Efficiency, and Productivity

QUALIFICATIONS
- Location: Must be within a commutable distance from Chicago
- 2+ years in Software sales as an IC & Manager
- Experience building and scaling a team from the ground up
- Consistent track record of 100%+ quota achievement as an individual contributor
- Proven track record of success in an SDR Manager role
- Experience managing and improving Sales Development KPIs

The annual OTE for this position is $156,000 - $190,000 USD.
Compensation is based on factors unique to each candidate, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, qualification, education, experience, and location. At Gong, we have a location-based compensation structure, which means there may be a different range for candidates in other locations. The total compensation package for this position, in addition to base compensation, may include incentive compensation, bonus, equity, and benefits. Some of our sales compensation programs also offer the potential to achieve above targeted earnings for those who exceed their sales targets.

- Hire and develop a team of experienced Enterprise Account Executives
- Consistently deliver against team revenue goals
- Assist your team throughout their strategic sales cycles by deeply understanding customer's needs and mapping them to the value of Gong
- Partner with sales leadership to further define a successful and repeatable sales process
- Understand the challenges facing the team and clear the way to allow for success
- Regularly report on team and individual results through pipeline management and forecasting
- Identify and make recommendations for improvement in the areas of process, efficiency, and productivity
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align account strategies, accelerate deals, and maximize customer value
MUST HAVE
- 4+ years leading an enterprise sales team in the software industry
- Successful track record of 100%+ of quota achievement as a manager and individual contributor in enterprise sales
- Previous experience recruiting, retaining, and developing a team from the ground up
- Previous experience working with GSIs & with a Global Accounts Program a significant advantage
- Excellent business acumen and understanding of how revenue leaders think
- Previous experience selling into sales leadership (C and VP level)
