About the role:
We are seeking an exceptional Data Engineer II to join our Engineering team, with a high sense of ownership who is excited about our mission, eager to learn and teach others, and can deliver across the tech stack. The ideal candidate should have experience with a modern data stack and implementations of data pipelines using Python and SQL in AWS.
Where you will work:
This role will be based in our New York City office. You must be willing to work in the office 3 days per week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
What you will do:
- Build, optimize, and maintain data pipelines that power our business
- Define and build out abstracted reusable data sets to be used for Business Intelligence, Marketing, and Data Science Research
- Design, build, and evangelize a federated data validation framework to be used to monitor potential data inconsistencies
- Protect our users’ privacy and security through best practices
The ideal candidate has:
- 2+ years of software/data engineering experience (distributed data processing, data warehousing, data governance, Big Data, data variance, data privacy, and data quality).
- Expertise in SQL and Python
- Expertise in building scalable data pipelines, query optimization, data modeling, and defining reusable datasets
- Experience working with orchestration tools (especially Airflow), databases (especially PostgreSQL), data warehouses (especially Snowflake)
- Familiarity with SQL tuning, medallion/event-driven architectures, and telemetry.
- Familiarity with healthcare or insurance
- Familiarity with data security and HIPPA compliance

Compensation Transparency:
The target salary range for this position is $125,000-$165,000. Individual compensation for this role will depend on various factors, including qualifications, skills, and applicable laws. We are seeking an exceptional Staff Security Engineer to serve as a technical anchor for our security function. This role is critical for leading technical design reviews and ensuring our security posture scales alongside our rapid customer growth. About the role:
We are looking for an engineer who can walk into messy, cross-functional workflows and turn them into clean, automated systems that scale. This role focuses on identifying high-friction operational processes across the company and replacing them with durable, API-driven automation. You will work across IT, Security, Engineering, and Business teams to reduce manual work, improve reliability, and build systems that scale with the company.
This is not a ticket-driven IT role. You will operate with a high degree of ownership, driving initiatives end-to-end from problem discovery through implementation and rollout. You will be part of the Business Technology - Corporate Engineering team and report to the Director of Business Technology.
Where you will work:
This role will be based in our New York City office (in the Financial District). You must be willing to work in the office 3 days per week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
What you will do:
- Identify and automate high-impact operational workflows across onboarding, offboarding, access management, and service delivery
- Replace manual, fragmented processes with scalable, API-driven systems
- Build and maintain integrations across HRIS, identity providers, SaaS platforms, and cloud environments
- Develop internal tools and automation using platforms like Retool, Okta Workflows, and custom scripts or services
- Apply infrastructure-as-code to manage and version system configurations
- Incorporate AI into workflows to improve efficiency in areas like ticket routing, knowledge retrieval, and decision support
- Design and automate access and security workflows that enforce least-privilege and auditability
- Own and drive cross-functional initiatives end-to-end, from problem definition through implementation and rollout
The ideal candidate has:
- 4–7+ years of experience in IT, platform engineering, automation, or similar roles
- Strong scripting or programming ability in Python, Go, Node.js, PowerShell, or similar
- Experience building API-driven automation across multiple systems
- Ability to design and implement workflows that span multiple tools and teams
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code such as Terraform or similar

About the role:
We are seeking an exceptional Director, Engineering to join our Search team. This role will report to the Chief Technology Officer. The Search team owns our provider recommendations system, provider data aggregation pipelines, and our AI-powered member support systems.
Where you will work:
This role will be based in our New York City office. You must be willing to work in the office 3 days per week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Relocation assistance is available for non-local candidates.
What you will do:
- Lead the development of a world-class Search system that organizes provider data in order to deliver relevant and impactful recommendations to our members
- Own and drive the execution of relevant quarterly deliverables and long-term strategy
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align strategies and achieve company objectives
- Provide leadership and guidance to your teams, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability
- Ensure your team proactively incorporates relevant new technologies, system designs, and strategies, especially in the domains of big data, ML, and AI
- Influence relevant partner teams in order to accelerate delivery across the organization
- Champion and ensure the privacy and security of our users’ data
- Mentor, grow, and recruit Garner’s next generation of engineering leaders
The ideal candidate has:
- 6+ years in software engineering, including 3+ years managing software or data engineering teams
- 1+ year managing engineering managers
- Experience operating production ML systems for user-facing use cases using modern ML platforms (e.g., SageMaker, Vertex AI, MLflow, BentoML, or similar)
- Familiarity with feature engineering technologies, including DataFrame-based processing frameworks and feature stores used in production systems
- Familiarity with the production ML lifecycle, including how models are packaged, deployed, and iterated over time; model development experience is not required
- Familiarity with data engineering concepts that support ML-powered systems, including large-scale data processing and orchestration (e.g., Spark, Airflow, or similar) used to produce and maintain model features
- Experience with personalization, recommendation, or search systems preferred
- Ability to translate complex business needs into a clear, executable technical roadmap
- Experience working with regulated data; healthcare data standards (HIPAA, EDI) a plus
- A willingness to “roll up your sleeves” and do whatever is necessary to ensure company success
- Experience working in a rapidly evolving startup environment

Compensation Transparency:
The target salary range for this position is $285,000 - $315,000. Individual compensation for this role will depend on various factors, including qualifications, skills, and applicable laws.
