Job Summary:
As a Knowledge Specialist, you will collaborate with the Knowledge and Localization Team to provide multi-lingual content for our customers. Your main responsibilities will include creating how-to video tutorials in multiple languages, conducting quality-assurance reviews of our product translations, and acquiring multi-lingual product screenshots for our help documentation and release notes. Additionally, you will work with the team to address client needs for multi-lingual content. As a successful Knowledge Specialist, you will quickly learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and processes with ease.
How Will I Make an Impact?
- Work with the Knowledge Team to develop how-to video tutorials.
- Partner with the Localization Team to ensure the quality of product translations.
- Collaborate with the Knowledge and Localization Team to produce and distribute multi-lingual content.
- Oversee and manage publishing queues to review and publish content created by D2L colleagues.
What you’ll bring to the role:
Must have:
- Proactive and independent work ethic in a demanding environment.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Fluency in at least one language other than English (preferably Canadian French, Mexican Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Dutch, or Arabic).
- Capability to independently complete all deliverables related to customer and D2L needs in a timely and trackable manner.
- Availability to work Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
- Familiarity and interest in AI tools (ChatGBT, CoPilot,etc.)
Nice to have:
- Experience with GitHub as a platform for version control.
- Experience with MadCap Flare as a content management system.
- Experience in technical writing, particularly for software and process documentation.
- Experience with Canva in creating how-to video tutorials.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Currently enrolled in a university or college program
- Completion of courses in the areas of communication, technical writing, rhetoric, and/or courses with a strong persuasive writing component considered an asset.
The expected weekly salary range for a student hire in this role is listed below. ABOUT THIS ROLE:
We are looking for an application troubleshooting analyst – an individual who can perform analysis of a given problem report and determine where the problem is, its cause, solution or recommend effective workaround where applicable.
Acting as an escalation point for client Subject Matter Experts, Product Support Analysts act as the primary point of contact for client technical teams. Through a combination of technical investigation and troubleshooting, as well as collaborating with teams across D2L, PSAs offer a world class support experience for D2L Administrators with varying degrees of technical expertise across the Enterprise, Higher Education, and K-12 segments.
Successful candidates must have strong analytical skills and be creative problem solvers. They will be able to make accurate risk assessments and demonstrate above-average attention to details and competencies. They are excellent communicators and are comfortable discussing technical issues with clients whose technical expertise may vary.
HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT:
- Utilize electronic communication by chat, phone, email, or assignment through case tracking system to interact with users facing technical issues, effectively identifying and documenting the problems they are encountering
- Conduct thorough research and implement appropriate solutions by referring to user guides, technical manuals, and other relevant documents
- Identify and correct improperly configured installations
- Replicate, diagnose, and resolve technical problems experienced by users, employing troubleshooting techniques to ensure prompt resolution
- Create, update, and resolve support cases within defined Service Level Objectives
- Improve product/tool design and functionality through creation of Software Defect reports and Feature Enhancement reports
- Create Support documentation, including FAQs and both internal and client-facing Knowledge-based Articles
- Participate in collaborative troubleshooting sessions to identify root causes of complex issues
- Participate in a shift rotation including weekdays, evenings, and weekends based on Eastern Time
- Perform other duties as assigned by Manager
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE ROLE:

The Community Specialist Co-op is all about connecting our clients to the people and resources they need to support teaching and learning in the 21st century. To do this you will help triage and respond to questions posted to our Discussion Forum and delivered to our email inbox. You will help to review and revise content in the Brightspace Learning Center to ensure accessibility and quality standards are implemented. We are looking for someone who can bring their enthusiasm and passion for supporting others to the Brightspace Community.
How Will I Make an Impact?
- Respond to inbound communications efficiently, connecting with internal Subject Matter Experts, creating relevant content or redirecting to the right engagement point.
- Participate in team meetings, providing status updates on count of unanswered questions, and time to first response
- Review and update Brightspace Learning Center content ensuring quality and accessibility measures are met
- Review and analyze data from the to communicate insights about future content and activities to contribute to community experience improvements
