We're looking for a Head of Design to join the team.

In this role, you will lead by making, not managing. Someone who sets direction, establishes standards, and grows a team while staying close to the work. This is a true player-coach role: you'll lead a small but talented design team while also acting as the primary designer on one of our product squads. We don't need a design politician or a gatekeeper. We need someone in builder mode — opinionated, hands-on, and excited to shape what great looks like at Coast from the inside out.

Location & work mode

Coast is an in-person company. This role is based out of our New York City office, where our full team works together day to day. We believe great products are built by people who are in the room together — collaborating closely, moving fast, and holding each other to a high bar.

What you'll do

• Pair closely with engineering and product to initiate and complete roadmap projects, no hand-offs
• Spot opportunities to redesign or refine key screens and flows, as well as smaller quality issues and “paper cuts” as you use Coast
• Create mockups, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals to communicate ideas and describe their execution
• Guide and inspire fellow designers through collaborative critique of work-in-progress
• Use and improve our lightweight design system components
• Help with hiring new teammates that can elevate our team and product

• 10+ years designing software, with at least 3+ years leading a design team
• A track-record of demonstrating both systems thinking and exceptional craft

The Foundations team at Coast is responsible for the essential services that allow our customers to transact with confidence. Whether it is ensuring we are processing payments, the authorization engine that we use to decide whether to approve transactions, or the SMS flows that drivers rely on to provide essential information about how and why they are spending, the Foundations team keeps the engine running that allows the rest of engineering to provide a delightful experience to our customers. Whoever we hire for this job will get visibility not just across engineering, but the full business, including our risk and underwriting team as well as finance, product, and design. This is a high-agency role that suits engineers who are looking for a large amount of autonomy and responsibility. Anyone who joins the team needs to be able to work in a cross-functional team, meet the velocity needs of a growing organization, and own the outcome across the whole technology stack. We iterate quickly, prioritize learning from our clients, build quality in, and remain ruthlessly pragmatic.

The Full-Stack Engineer will:

• build product features end-to-end, from web UI to distributed services back end;
• work to evaluate and integrate critical third-party software and infrastructure including the payments stack;
• challenge the team to automate, improve process, simplify, raise the bar for quality;
• help shape the engineering culture of the company;
• have a voice in early technology and implementation choices.

The Full-Stack Engineer must:

• have 4-10+ years experience working with first-class engineering teams with a proven track record of frequent delivery of quality software to production;
• be experienced working on business-critical services;
• Have owned the full lifecycle of solutions from ideation, to delivery, to iteration;
• have substantial experience with server-side programming, variety of databases (Postgres, DynamoDB), messaging, REST and APIs in general, distributed systems;
• have experience with modern web development, in TypeScript;
• have extensive experience working in cross-functional agile teams in collaboration with product and design;
• have hands-on knowledge developing applications in the cloud (preferably AWS);
• have a proven history of delivering complex, highly available and scalable distributed systems;
• be pragmatic and get stuff done;

Compensation

The Security Engineer is our first explicitly security-focused hire. In this role you will be an early member of the Platform Engineering organization and help us mature a critical part of Coast. We value speed and flexibility, but accept the need for high standards for compliance and security. Doing it well is critical for our ability to execute.

Working directly with an enthusiastic and invested product team, you will help us stay on top of a wide array of areas, from network security and least-privilege permissions in the cloud to rationalizing our SIEM and code scanning posture, from supply chain security to application security reviews for our product organization. At the end of the day, we want to establish “paved paths” that allow us to minimize friction while ensuring security of our software. The role will work closely with our Product Engineering, and the CTO; this role reports to the Head of Platform.

The Security Engineer will:

• Hold a high bar for security standards and help us establish best practices;
• Influence design and implementation of all aspects of our product, by acting as a sounding board and SME for our product managers and engineers;
• Improve scanning to ensure that risks in our codebase and cloud environment are identified, assessed, and remediated in a timely manner;
• Organize our permissioning system to ensure that the right people have appropriate access, and unnecessary people don’t;
• Help shape the engineering culture of the company by championing security practices;
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of the security infrastructure, policies, and procedures;
• Remain relentlessly pragmatic and balance the product velocity demand with the needs of a secure platform.

The Security Engineer must:

• Have 5+ years experience working with first-class engineering teams with a proven track record of continually improving their employer’s security posture;
• Have experience working directly with product engineers to incrementally improve our practices;
• Be proficient at automating tooling, whether it be using the shell or (preferably) a programming language such as Python;
• Have experience with one of Terraform/CloudFormation/Pulumi/CDK since we treat our infrastructure as code;
• Deep hands-on knowledge and experience developing in AWS, especially IAM and SIEM, but also networking;
• Be able to figure stuff out - the modern security space is deep and complex, and there are many ways of solving the same problem. You need to be able to go off on your own, research and design a solution, implement technical spikes, and then deliver it with the team;
• Have an owner mindset and continuously look for, notice, and implement improvements to our posture, because small continuous improvements matter;
• Keep a finger on the pulse of the industry - latest risks, trends in CICD, networking, and vendor landscape.

About the Role

We're looking for a Product Marketing Manager to support product marketing for Coast's new products, starting with our spend management solution purpose-built for fleet businesses. You'll play a hands-on role in taking this product from the meaningful growth driver it is today into an even larger part of our business.

After this product, there will be many more coming this year to help launch and grow.

This role is ideal for a PMM who's eager to get closer to the ground floor. You'll develop deep expertise on our customers, market, and product. You'll help shape how we talk about spend management, how we package and sell it, and how we drive adoption and expansion across our base.

You will have real ownership in an environment where you'll help write the playbook in real time.

What to Expect

• Contribute to positioning and messaging that clearly articulates why Coast wins, and help ship it across all Coast channels, including the website, product communications, sales materials, integrated marketing campaigns, and customer lifecycle communications
• Led and support cross-functional product launches end-to-end, partnering with Product and Sales to build the narrative and drive internal readiness for our GTM approach

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience, including at least 2 years in fintech. B2B SaaS or payments experience is a strong plus
• Experience supporting or contributing to new product launches. We need someone excited by new, ambiguous environments
• Strong instincts for messaging that resonates. You know how to leverage customer insights to craft compelling narratives around what your audience cares about
• Familiarity with lifecycle marketing: you've contributed to onboarding journeys, expansion campaigns, or retention strategies
• Solid cross-functional collaboration and project management skills: you can coordinate across Product, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success teams

About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Product Marketing Manager to lead product marketing for all of Coast’s new products. This starts with our spend management solution that is purpose built for fleet businesses. Your goal: take this product from the meaningful driver of Coast’s growth that it is today into an outsized part of our business. 

After this product, there will be many more coming this year to launch and grow.

This role is for a full-stack PMM who wants to build from the ground up. You’ll become the subject matter expert on the customer, the market, and the product. You’ll define how we talk about spend management, how we package and sell it, and how we drive adoption and expansion across our base.

You will operate with high ownership in an environment where you will write the playbook in real time. 

What to expect

• Develop positioning and messaging that clearly articulates why Coast wins, and ship it across all Coast channels, including the website, product communication, sales materials, integrated marketing campaigns and customer lifecycle communications

The Platform Engineer (Security) is our first explicitly security-focused hire. In this role you will be an early member of the Platform Engineering organization and help us mature a critical part of Coast. We value speed and flexibility, but accept the need for high standards for compliance and security. Doing it well is critical for our ability to execute.

Working directly with an enthusiastic and invested product team, you will help us stay on top of a wide array of areas, from network security and least-privilege permissions in the cloud to rationalizing our SIEM and code scanning posture, from supply chain security to application security reviews for our product organization. At the end of the day, we want to establish “paved paths” that allow us to minimize friction while ensuring security of our software. The role will work closely with our Product Engineering, and the CTO; this role reports to the Head of Platform.

As one of our early sales hires at Coast, an early-stage startup, you will roll up your sleeves to do the critical work of selling Coast’s product. Coast is built to help businesses with fleets save time and money, and you will identify, develop, and close relationships with prospective clients. At the same time, you’ll help build out the sales strategy and vision for our customer-first sales organization.  Your contributions will directly drive revenue for Coast, while enabling the long term success of our future sales colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Own the entire customer sales cycle from prospect to close for businesses that operate between 50 and 1,000 vehicles
• Drive revenue for Coast through consultative, customer-first, selling 
• Develop a sales pipeline through strategic outbound prospecting and closing large inbound leads
• Articulate the Coast value proposition to qualified decision makers, finance teams, and C-level executives
• Collaborate with marketing to create a holistic customer engagement strategy 
• Share customer feedback with Coast colleagues in product, finance, and risk to improve the user experience
• Achieve and exceed sales targets and projected revenue goals
• Provide input into the sales organization strategy to help us scale exponentially

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from a four year university
• Minimum of 5+ years experience in B2B sales with 3+ years of full sales cycle experience as an AE
• Familiarity with Fleet and Trade organizations is a bonus
• Outstanding communication skills
• Experience with outbound sales and lead generation using Salesforce, Outreach, and other key tools
• Ability to identify and engage decision makers within a prospective client organization 
• Capable of demonstrating value and handling objections for a financial technology product 
• Comfort performing fast-paced, transactional, outbound and inbound sales
• Proven track record at meeting and exceeding sales quotas
• Strong sales toolkit: you can prospect, qualify, demonstrate, negotiate, and close deals
• Willingness to build the ship and sail it at the same time as one of our very first sales hires

About the Role

As Product Manager, you will own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for one of Coast’s non-fuel spend products; expanding our platform beyond fuel into the broader universe of operational expenses, including expense management, accounts payable, reimbursements, and vendor payments. You will lead a cross-functional team of engineers and designers to build products that help fleet and field-based businesses move more of their day-to-day spend onto Coast in a way that is simpler, safer, and more trusted than existing solutions. 

We’re looking for someone who is comfortable operating in ambiguity, curious about complex financial workflows, and motivated by turning messy, real-world problems into simple, intuitive products. You should be equally comfortable thinking at a systems level and getting hands-on, whether that’s pressure-testing a concept, prototyping a flow, or working closely with engineering to translate constraints into thoughtful product decisions.

Please note that this role will require you to be comfortable with working in-person at our NYC office at least 3.5 days/week on average.

What You Bring

• BA/BS in an analytical field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Applied Sciences) or equivalent technical experience
• Minimum 4 years of product management or adjacent product-building experience
• Strong customer empathy and design thinking
• Passion for AI, shown through hands-on building, prototyping, or side projects, and staying current on research and tools
• Fluency with core LLM concepts and systems, such as prompting, fine-tuning, embeddings, retrieval, and evaluation, and the judgment to translate these into reliable, user-facing products.
• Fluency with modern prototyping tools (e.g. Cursor, Bolt, Claude Code) and comfort with design/collaboration environments like Figma and Git.
• Fluency in data and experimentation, and understanding when the answer cannot be found in the data
• Proven ability to lead small, cross-functional teams toward ambitious goals with urgency and agency
• Ability to translate between technical and non-technical audiences, synthesizing complex systems into compelling narratives
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills

We're looking for a senior to staff level Product Designer to join the team.

In this role, we expect robust design skills, sharp product thinking, and the ability to engage in technical discussions. We work in small, autonomous project teams, where designers are paired tightly with engineers and product managers to explore ideas, build prototypes, deploy internal builds, and ultimately ship to customers. You will be a key element of projects from beginning to end.

Location & work mode

Coast is an in-person company. This role is based out of our New York City office, where our full team works together day to day. We believe great products are built by people who are in the room together — collaborating closely, moving fast, and holding each other to a high bar.

What you'll do

• Pair closely with engineering and product to initiate and complete roadmap projects, no hand-offs
• Spot opportunities to redesign or refine key screens and flows, as well as smaller quality issues and “paper cuts” as you use Coast
• Create mockups, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals to communicate ideas and describe their execution
• Guide and inspire fellow designers through collaborative critique of work-in-progress
• Use and improve our lightweight design system components
• Help with hiring new teammates that can elevate our team and product

What we’re looking for

• 7+ years experience designing software
• Courage to ask questions, experiment, and advocate for what you feel is right
• Humility to accept feedback, adapt your thinking, and iterate toward the best solution
• Experience with prototyping in Figma (and beyond with tools like AI, HTML/CSS)
• Ability to distill problems and feedback, then design clear, focused solutions
• Effective written and verbal communication skills

As Coast’s first Partnerships Manager, we are looking for someone to own and grow revenue from our existing partner ecosystem. You’ll strengthen relationships with strategic partners, drive sales enablement, increase referral volume, and build repeatable frameworks for how we co-sell, co-market, and integrate with partners.

You’ll report into the Director of Partnerships and work closely with Marketing, Sales, CS, and Product.

What You’ll Do

Partner Growth & Revenue Management

• Own a portfolio of partners and deepen strategic + working relationships with key stakeholders.
• Maintain a clear understanding of partner org structures, incentives, and sales motions.
• Drive referral and revenue growth through consistent engagement with partner AEs, partner managers, and leadership.
• Conduct in-person partner visits and training sessions to increase product awareness and deal flow.

Partner Enablement

• Deliver partner training, demos, and refreshers to ensure partner sales teams know how and when to recommend us.
• Build and maintain scalable partner enablement materials, playbooks, and communications.

Operational Excellence

• Lead QBRs and partner planning sessions; track KPIs and performance.
• Manage co-marketing requests and coordinate with internal teams to ensure execution.
• Improve internal processes around partner onboarding, workflows, referral submissions, and deal tracking.

Strategic Expansion

• Identify opportunities for deeper integrations, embedded workflows, and joint GTM motions.
• Collaborate with Product and Sales to articulate the value prop and shape the embedded partnership strategy.

What Success Looks Like

By 3 Months

• Strong foundational relationships with your partner portfolio, and a clear understanding of each partners business strategy as it applies to Coast and fleet overall
• Delivered several partner GTM / Sales trainings and increased awareness within partner sales teams.
• Developed QBR cadence and initial partner growth plans
• Strong understanding of the Coast product and the partner value prop, with the ability to run a clean, confident product demo.
• Demonstrable lift in referrals, revenue, or partner-led opportunities.
• Increase monthly active partners by at least 15% MoM

By 6 Months 

• Proven ability to run partner motions independently end-to-end.
• Established scalable frameworks for partner enablement, onboarding, and engagement.
• Increased co-marketing activity and operational consistency. 
• At least 80% of your partner portfolio has completed an updated Coast training and is contributing at least 1 new deal per month
• Partner driven revenue has increased by 100% from month 1 baseline 

By 12 Months

• Material revenue impact across your portfolio; greater than $15MM ARR sourced and driven
• Increase % of company ARR originated from partnerships to 35%, supported by clear leading indicators (monthly active partners, partner-sourced pipeline, partner-led EPV)
• Deepened >3 partnerships with meaningful co-selling and embedded expansion
• Established durable partner playbooks that include onboarding, enablement, co-sell, co-market and QBR templates that future team members can implement 
• Built a high-performing partner portfolio with clear partner tiering, performance management and structured approach to improving or exiting underperforming relationships
• Identified and advanced embedded/integration opportunities with priority partners

About You

• 4-6+ years relevant experience in partnerships, B2B sales, business development, consulting, or similar roles.
• Strong relationship builder with excellent communication and presentation skills.
• High ownership mindset: you proactively identify opportunities and follow through.
• Organized and process-driven; able to manage multiple partners and workstreams with clarity.
• Comfortable with in-field sales interactions, driving partner promotions, and engaging partner AEs.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguity and build structure where it doesn’t exist.
• Experience working cross-functionally across Sales, CS, Product, and Marketing.
• Willingness to travel ~20% of the time

Nice To Have

• Experience in fintech, SaaS, or channel/partner ecosystems.
• Experience with embedded partnerships, integrations, or co-selling motions.

Compensation

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of our total compensation package that also includes benefits, signing bonus, and equity. Pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including scope and qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to other Coast employees. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at Coast to fall healthily within the range based on these factors.

• Total compensation (salary+bonus) range: $150,000 - $180,000 annually
• Equity grant: commensurate with level determined at the discretion of the company, with meaningful potential upside given the company’s early stage

About the Role

We’re looking for a hands on, people-first Manager of Customer Success to lead our frontline CSMs while owning a book of business. This player-coach model is core to how Coast builds empathy, credibility, and process excellence across our customer lifecycle. You’ll mentor, hire, and develop a team responsible for delivering exceptional onboarding, activation, and retention outcomes for all of our customer segments.

What Success Looks Like

• Deliver consistent customer value across the lifecycle
• Deliver excellent GRR & NRR—and raise it further through proactive health monitoring and disciplined retention and expansion execution.
• Increase onboarding velocity and fleet activation so customers hit time-to-value faster and ramp usage more consistently.
• Be a true player-coach: excited to own accounts, demonstrate product + CS fluency, and raise team performance via a standardized 1:1 coaching framework.
• Enhance expansion pipeline by consistently identifying, creating, and progressing CSQOs into qualified expansion opportunities.

What You’ll Do

• Lead & Coach: Manage and mentor a team of high-performing CSMs, focusing on call coaching, onboarding execution, fleet activation, and account health.
• Own Accounts: Carry a book of business to stay close to the customer experience and model best-in-class onboarding, retention, and expansion skills.
• Drive Activation: Ensure your team drives velocity and depth of onboarding.
• Create Value: Help CSMs demonstrate customer value across the lifecycle—from onboarding through maturity—with account-specific plans tied to clear use cases.
• Maximize Expansion: Support CSMs in creating CSQOs and building a proactive expansion pipeline.
• Upskill the Team: Develop a repeatable 1:1 coaching and enablement framework to improve onboarding, account health, and teammate performance.
• Build Systems Excellence: Champion operational rigor and data fluency across Salesforce, Sigma, Outreach, and our AI toolkit to guide prioritization and performance.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years in Customer Success or Account Management, with 2+ years managing CSMs or frontline customer-facing teams
• A proven player-coach: you lead by example while enabling others to succeed
• Track record of high-touch onboarding and expansion motions in SMB and mid-market
• Expertise in creating structure from ambiguity—using data, systems, and coaching to drive repeatable outcomes
• Strong communicator with a bias for clarity, urgency, and action
• Deep empathy for customers—and for the CSMs who serve them
• Bonus: familiarity with fintech, SaaS, or operations-heavy customer segments
