On-Call Wardrobe Technician – 'Auana
Costumes and Props
On-Call position
We are looking for an On-Call Wardrobe Technician whose role, as a part of the Wardrobe team, will be to ensure costume elements are well maintained and the smooth running of shows. Under the leadership of the Lead Wardrobe Technician, all team members are expected to support the show and their co-workers in a positive and professional manner. All duties are to be performed in accordance with department and property policies, practices, and procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with team members.
The On-Call Wardrobe Technician will:
- Work show tracks which include but are not limited to: dressing, cleaning, laundering, repair/maintenance of costumes, headpieces and accessories, pre-show costume check and pre-set and running show tracks, nightly show laundry and closing procedures;
- Maintain cue track documentation and participate in cue track rotation and trainings, as directed; Document maintenance practices and repair notes, as needed;
- Attend Artist trainings and show staging sessions, when needed;
- Assist with the inventory, ordering and tracking of the department's supplies and equipment and report to the department Lead when needed;
- Participate in special projects, such as maintenance or construction projects and assisting in PR events that include Costume elements or other needs that may fall within the department’s specialty, as directed; Maintain flexible schedule for such projects;
- Help with organization and cleanliness of the workspace;
- Adhere to and promote all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations as they pertain to the safe operation of all elements related to the show; participate in all required health and safety classes and emergency rescue procedure training;
- Contribute to a safe and positive working environment at all times by adhering to and following all Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group standards, values, policies and regulations pertaining to safety using equipment and established working methods;
- Assist other departments when necessary for cross-departmental support;
- Complete all other job-related duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- At least one year of previous experience as a professional costume dresser, including experience in costume repairs and maintenance for a large-scale production show;
- Previous Show Dressing, laundry and wardrobe experience from a large-scale theatrical production;
- Basic knowledge of costume/shoe repair, painting, makeup, theatrical wigs and millinery;
- Previous experience working with home/commercial sewing machines and specialty machines an asset;
- Previous experience working in a multicultural group environment is a plus; Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts;
- Availability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays;
- High School diploma or GED completion;
- Professional appearance and demeanor;
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken;
- Ability to obtain OSHA 10 course completion card;
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job including, but not limited to: crouching, kneeling, standing, lifting, sometimes for extended amounts of time; lifting at least 50lbs unassisted, etc.; Full list of essential functions will be sent in the offer. Full-Time Position
This position is for a new creation that will be housed in the Outrigger Hotel in Waikiki Hawai’i. The show is planning for a late fall opening with load-in and creation through spring and summer 2024. Please note that there may be exceptional delays in this recruitment process as these positions will be staffed gradually. We thank you for your understanding.
We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to bring support to our technical team. This position will bring support to Lighting/Projection/Video/LED/Audio-departmental equipment, systems or related projects that involve Lighting, Projection and Audio elements. The ideal candidate will have a team player mindset and should have effective communication skills.
The Lighting/Projection/Audio Technician will:
- Work with technical management, artistic staff and stage management staff to support their needs during rehearsals, trainings and performances;
- Set up and maintain complex systems consisting of multiple computers, consoles, media servers, LED processors, fixtures, dimmers, projectors, cameras, networks, and other stage related equipment;
- Develop a thorough knowledge of department equipment specific to the production, to operate and maintain equipment safely;
- Assist the Technical Director and Production Services in the development and implementation of preventative maintenance routines and inspections;
- Ensure all departmental designs, equipment, systems, functions, procedures, show tracks, maintenance and inspections logs, special projects, etc. are properly and adequately documented;
- Assist with inventory by identifying any additional departmental equipment that may be required and communicate with Lead when necessary;
- Work with technical management to establish and maintain training and backup plans to ensure continuity of performance operations in the event of unexpected failure of a system, component or piece of equipment; Participate in cue track rotation as directed;
- Lead collaboration efforts for special projects, including the research, purchasing, construction and installation of new show elements, and other projects that may fall within the department’s specialty, as directed; Maintain flexible schedule for such projects;
- Adhere to and promote all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations as they pertain to the safe operation of all elements related to the show; participate in all required health and safety classes and emergency rescue procedure training;
- Contribute to a safe and positive working environment at all times by adhering to and following all Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group standards, values, policies and regulations pertaining to safety using equipment and established working methods;
- Assist other departments when necessary for cross-departmental support;
- Complete all other job-related duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- At least three years of previous experience operating and maintaining lighting/projection/video/LED/audio systems in a large-scale theatrical or concert production;
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including Ethernet and wireless technology (TCIP/IP, UDP, Switches, Firewalls.);
- Comprehension of basic principles of AC/DC electricity, basic electronics, MIDI, RF and DMX;
- Strong understanding of digital test equipment for troubleshooting and repairs;
- Previous experience working with Hardware and software Video Recording, Editing, and Compression; Programming, operating and maintaining industry Media Server Playback systems and using their affiliated hardware and software;
- Technologies such as DVI, HDMI, Fiber Optics and Computer RAID Systems; Large format digital video projector hardware, setup and calibration;
- Understanding of LED programming and troubleshooting. Previous experience with Novastar processing software;
- Previous experience with camera setup, operation and programming to include controlling multi system PTZ cameras;
- Ability to do Special Events Integration;
- Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), Final Cut Pro X, Premier, After Effects, Motion, or other industry standard editing packages;
- Working knowledge of lighting / projection specific software and systems such as GrandMA 3, ETC Paradigm, Vectorworks, Lightwright, Moving Light Assistant, Pangolin Beyond, Madrix, Capture, Zactrack, Pandora’s Box an asset;
- Working maintenance and operational knowledge of various types of moving lights, LED static lights, LED walls, projectors, and atmospherics required
- Working knowledge of Vectorworks an asset;
- Ability to operate or train to operate various lifts and heavy equipment like forklifts;
- ETCP Certification an asset;
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken;

We are looking for a Ticket Agent to join the Box Office team for ‘AUANA, our new production in Honolulu, Hawai‘i, part of the Resident Shows Division (RSD) with Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group (CDSEG). The main objective of this role is to provide guests with world-class customer service, maintain up-to-date knowledge of pricing, availability, and seating options, and speak knowledgably about ‘AUANA and the other shows in the Cirque du Soleil RSD portfolio. Assist with crowd control and ensure a smooth entry for guest. The ideal candidate will be an outgoing, charismatic, and engaging individual that is excited to be part of the opening team for a first-of-its-kind entertainment offering in Hawai‘i. You are detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work quickly and accurately while maintaining a professional and welcoming demeanor.
The Ticket Agent will have the opportunity to:
· Process merchandise sales, ticket sales and VIP Experience upsells, ensuring prompt and courteous service to all guests;
· Assist sales department with group reservation inquiries, bookings, group check-ins and will call
· Build Customer Accounts in Outbox with accurate guest information;
· Utilize and balance a cash drawer and ticket sales with various tender types;
· Provide educated answers to guest questions and able to furnish detailed information regarding ‘AUANA show details, Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group, and the OUTRIGGER Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel facilities and services;
· Resolve guest issues within scope of authority and escalate to supervisor as necessary;
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge on Cirque ticketing policies and purchase agreement information;
· Contribute to a positive work-life environment at the box office that promotes customer service, sales, and safety;
· Maintain a neat work environment and a clean and presentable demeanor based on Cirque du Soleil’s appearance policy;
· Maintain communication with Box Office Managers regarding ticketing problems and or customer service issues;

· Previous customer service experience in a ticketing, live entertainment, or similar work environment;
· Knowledge of Outbox or other similar ticketing platform;
· Possess the ability to learn ticketing software and retain a high level of complex information.
