About the Team:

As a Staff Software Engineer on the Content Creation team, you will be at the forefront of real time applications within Box. Being one of the core applications, we are one of the first stops customers make when using Box platform. You will play an integral role in paving the future path for what it means to generate content within Box.

The Content Creation owns Notes and Canvas products of Box's platform. The functionality that this team builds is used by our largest cohorts of users (versus just admin users). They are the only true real-time service at Box, using web sockets to deliver a real-time editing product. It's a complex problem space that we are experts in, and it's a great team to join if you want to contribute to creating one of the most vital Box products. The team is mostly developing Front-End with React.js, for Back-End tasks they use mostly Node.js.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Lead technical change of large-scale projects to completion, from requirements gathering to deployment, while fostering Box culture and representing Box Poland internally and externally.
• Collaborate with the team to assess, align, and plan the re-architecture of any components in Notes that do not meet Box's overall engineering standards.
• Review and assess the technical feasibility of project requirements and propose innovative solutions.
• Adapt to the technical and stylistic needs of integrations and projects as they occur; including technical tools, programming languages, technical limitations, and product requirements
• Ensure that the re-architecture enables safe, efficient, and maintainable development of high-quality features, in order to improve user and developer experience.
• Manage and maintain substantial portions of legacy code on both the frontend and backend.
• Take part in daily stand-ups, sprint review/retrospectives, planning sessions, team meetings, and one-on-one meetings with the manager.
• Participate in our on-call rotation, available at all times while on-call to help respond to and triage any issues that arise.

WHO YOU ARE :

• You have 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• You possess strong knowledge of data structures and software design principles
• You have experience in frontend development (Typescript, React.js). 
• You have expertise in designing and implementing RESTful APIs, as well as experience in test automation.
• You are the technical expert and who can provide guidance to junior engineers on best practices, coding standards, and complex technical issues
• You have experience working with legacy codebases and tightly-coupled systems (we’re now in the process of decoupling/refactoring it) —in fact, you thrive on the excitement and extra challenges they bring to the table!
• Your focus is on designing and implementing scalable services that prioritise reliability, observability, operability, and efficiency.

WHY BOX NEEDS YOU

We’re looking for a high energy, highly motivated, independent, hands-on individual with people skills to work with leaders and business partners across the organization and external vendors and be part of a high performing team. This role will manage the day-to-day activities and projects as assigned surrounding daily vendor invoicing and queries, expense reports, travel, and month-end close within the Global Accounts Payable Team. This role will report into our Accounts Payable Manager in Austin. If you operate effectively in a rapidly scaling, dynamic environment, are able to manage multiple stakeholders both internal and external and have strong communications and customer service skills, this role is for you!

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Invoicing of high volume and full cycle accounts payable. This includes routing invoices for approvals, coding and entering invoices, and processing payments within the global Accounts Payable Team

• Ensuring that entered invoices and payment requests have appropriate supporting documents, approvals and account/department coding

• Resolving purchase order, invoice, and payment discrepancies with Boxers as well as external vendors

• Reviewing and processing weekly employee expense reports in Concur, support global employees with Concur expense reporting inquiries including resolving any open Service Desk tickets

• Working effectively with other functions to resolve AP issues and support any ZIP/Coupa/Concur inquiries, including holding regular global A/P syncs and Coupa office hours for Boxers

• Month-end close responsibilities include processing all invoices and expense reimbursements

• Overseeing root cause analysis (RCA) of recurring adjustments, system issues, recommend and influence the implementation of process improvements and tools solutions to correct and mitigate the same

• UAT and projects

• Continuous process improvements

• Accurate and timely preparation of and explanations for assigned audit related requests. Responsible for preparing and submitting assigned compliance reports, such as quarterly and year-end audit requests and reports

• Performance of the above tasks in compliance with SOX, identifying control gaps, if any, and recommending process improvements

WHO YOU ARE

• 2-4 years of accounting experience with specialization in Accounts Payable and Expense Reimbursements

• Excellent teamwork, time management, communication (written and verbal), organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and customer-service oriented.

• Self-motivated and self-managed with the ability to multi-task, think independently and creatively

• Desire to grow with Box

• BA degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics preferred

• Understanding of US GAAP and familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) a plus

• Strong MS Excel skills; NetSuite, Concur, Coupa or ZIP experience will be an added value

• Skilled in designing and developing APIs.

Why Box Needs You

This Engineering Business Operations Manager will be a key partner for the Engineering Business Operations and Strategy (EBOS) organization, responsible for providing operational support and expertise to Box Engineering teams across the Build organization. This role will have a focus on our EMEA teams. You will guide and prepare teams through planning and reporting processes - including Annual Planning, Quarterly Planning, Quarterly Business Reviews, and monthly Operational Reviews - and drive critical processes for tracking performance metrics and helping leadership measure and report on key goals. We are looking for someone who can help us scale in a way that supports our continued growth. This position reports directly to the Senior Director of EBOS.

What You’ll Do

• Own optimization strategies and recognize opportunities to improve team functions; design and improve operational workflows to reduce friction and increase efficiency.
• Guide and prepare Engineering teams across EMEA for all planning and reporting processes, including Annual Planning, Quarterly Planning, Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), monthly Operational Reviews, and related cadences.
• Drive and maintain OKR tracking and KPI measurement for engineering teams; build reporting and dashboards that give leadership clear visibility into performance and progress against goals.
• Partner with Engineering leadership on production support and SLA management; monitor SLA performance, and support resolution and communication.
• Compile and analyze data from engineering and cross-functional partners to assess performance, identify operational bottlenecks, and support strategic decisions.
• Create and deliver presentations and materials for leadership and business reviews; ensure consistent, accurate reporting across EBOS and Build organization stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Finance on planning alignment, resource allocation, and operational initiatives.
• Support ad-hoc EBOS projects and operational improvements to enable scale and continued growth.

Who You Are

• 5+ years of experience in business operations, engineering operations, or a related operational role.
• Strong operational and process ownership: you guide teams through planning cycles and reporting with clarity and consistency.
• Experience driving OKR tracking, KPI measurement, and performance reporting for technical or engineering teams.
• Ability to recognize optimization opportunities and improve team functions; comfort with workflow design and continuous improvement.
• Analytical mindset: you interpret data, identify bottlenecks, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to create clear presentations and reports for leadership.
• Proven track record of building strong relationships with cross-functional partners and engineering leaders.
