Senior Security Detection and Monitoring Engineer

As a driven and proactive Senior Security Detection and Monitoring Engineer you will focus on Security Operations, Detection Engineering, Threat Detection and Incident Response. You will develop and maintain security solutions to improve detection capabilities within the whole Adyen ecosystem, automate difficult manual tasks and investigate security incidents.  In short, we want you to build and operate a highly effective security detection and response system! 

How do we do that?

• Collaborating: To create meaningful detections and to respond to triggered alerts you will collaborate with other members of the security, product, development and infrastructure teams. We do not work in isolation.
• Developing our very own tool: You will implement complex detection logic in our in-house developed security monitoring tool with a mix of Python and your bright ideas. Advanced Python development skills are a must,  “a bit of scripting” is not enough for the challenges we have ahead of us.
• Operating our very own tool: all our security engineers developing new detections also act as security analysts and incident responders dealing with the alerts triggered by the monitoring system. Who you are

• You have 4+ years of experience in one or more of the following security domains: Intrusion Detection, Detection Engineering, Threat Detection, Incident Response.
• You are proficient in two or more of the following areas:  Operating System security (Linux/MacOS), Container Security, Network security, SaaS/IaaS Security.
• You understand security detection and monitoring without being limited to specific SIEM tools or vendors.
• You have solid and demonstrable experience with Python, and are able to translate complex detection logic into advanced code with ease.
• You are a builder at heart, and have the mindset to script, automate, and scope projects to avoid repetitive tasks.
• You believe that the security of systems, people and processes requires a pragmatic and humane approach where communication is key.

Tech Risk Officer (Enterprise Risk) 

Adyen is both a global technology company and a locally regulated financial services entity. This means you will interact with second line colleagues across 28 locations , and act as the single point of contact  for the implementation of information technology and security  requirements in the Asia-Pacific region. 

The Tech Risk team within the second line Enterprise Risk function ensures that risk management practices are applied across Adyen’s technological environments, teams and initiatives. The key risks it covers are those of Information Technology and Information Security (IS/IT). This continuous task requires a close relationship with Adyen technical engineering teams in the first line, in order to understand changes in the tech landscape but also to guide them in relation to risk mitigation needs.  

The ideal candidate is a knowledgeable IS and IT risk professional, with relevant experience in IS/IT Governance, Risk and Compliance activities.  The candidate will have previous experience with regulatory response activities. Additionally, the candidate has good technical understanding, and can contribute to advancing the Adyen Security and IT/IS framework to the next level of maturity in the region, providing guidance in areas such as Information Security and IT Resilience, Data management or AI Governance.

What you will do

• Operates as the Adyen second line Enterprise Risk representative (Risk Officer) in the APAC region, providing strategic leadership and oversight for risk management from our Singapore office. 
• Collaborate with the global risk management team to redirect or jointly answer risk management questions and challenges outside of the technology risk domain
• Provide local Security and IT Risk input to regulatory inquiries on Adyen’s IT and security posture, and participate in relevant regional risk activities.   
• Execute on the global Information Security and IT Risk Assessments across a number of diverse Security and  IT domains and assets, advising on and ensuring risk mitigation actions are implemented. 
• Maintain and further develop the Adyen IT and Information Security Policies and contribute to the maturity of the Information Security and IT Risk Framework. 
• Engage with key stakeholders and work cooperatively to identify, create, develop or implement mitigations to IT and Security risks, and actions that drive policies adoption and process maturity.
• Collaborate with other Enterprise risk domains, in order to incorporate Security and IT risks into Adyen’s risk profile, ensuring those are considered when evaluating company objectives.
• Collaborate with other second-line teams (typically regulatory, compliance and privacy) in the implementation of Security and IT requirements, as well as engage with local auditors or external partners (externally) as a trusted point of contact for the specific risk domains, globally.
• Identify and drive process improvements that enhance scalability and efficiency of the Tech Risk team.
• Represent risk management in local executive boards across APAC together with the VP of Enterprise Risk.  

Who you are

• You have between 5 to 15 years experience with Security and IT risk management, working with(in) the second line risk management in a financial institution, technology company or as a technology risk consultant in a Big 4 firm or comparable. 
• You have a clear understanding of Technology and Information Security domains, such as IT Resilience, vulnerability management, Security incident response, secure development, etc. and have an understanding of recognized industry frameworks. 
• You feel comfortable explaining risks associated with Information Security or IT areas, to engineers or other business stakeholders, as well as recommending risk mitigations and enabling risk monitoring by building risk indicators.
• You have experience in engaging with regulators or in regulatory projects, with understanding of requirements related to Security and IT risk management for regulated institutions or the payments industry in the APAC region.
• You are passionate and driven about building for risk management, owning projects and objectives in the medium, long term.
• You are practical, innovative, flexible with strong problem-solving capabilities and able to define efficient and effective processes and procedures.
• You have strong written and verbal communication skills.

Senior Tech & Security Regulatory Officer

Adyen is looking for a Senior Tech & Security Regulatory Officer to join the tech regulatory team within the Platform Engineering group. The Platform Engineering group enables our internal engineering teams to quickly and autonomously build products for our customers, at massive scale and speed. As a Senior Tech and Security Regulatory Officer in Platform Engineering, you are responsible for ensuring that our products and services comply with APAC regulations and laws. You actively engage, bring together, and communicate with people from various teams to be successful in ensuring continued compliance of products and services.

What you’ll do

• Representing the company in technology and cybersecurity related discussions with APAC regulators and manage requests from regulators and auditors to ensure successful audit cycles/certifications (e.g. RBI audits, MAS audits, BNM audits, system audits (SAR), ISO Audits, PCI-DSS, SOC 1 & 2 audits, banking partner audits, network audits, statutory auditors)
• Ensuring processes (such as network access management, admin account management, key management, security detection and monitoring, incident management, business continuity management) comply with regulatory requirements and technology risks are mitigated 
• Representing the company in discussions with regulators and other external stakeholders like customers for cybersecurity
• Coordinating and evaluating business continuity testing/drills and incident management related tabletops/trainings with board members and incident response teams for India/APAC
• Adopting tech and security procedures/directives as required
• Conducting research and providing guidance on regulatory requirements to global teams, executives, board members and providing guidance to the business on how to comply with them.
• Implementing new security/tech requirements if and when we apply for additional licenses in APAC
• Preparing technology and security monitoring reports for external and internal stakeholders (and IT/Executive committees)

What you need to succeed

• A strong understanding of APAC  technical and security regulations and laws
• Experience working in a regulatory role, preferably within a financial services and/or technical environment
• Affinity and hands-on experience with engineering and the ability to understand complex financial products and services
• Strong analytical and research skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously that may span across teams and time zones
• A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving

Who you are

• A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant working experience as a technology auditor/advisor or within a cyber security role for a fintech/bank/financial institution
• Experience leading, growing, mentoring Tech/Security regulatory teams strongly preferred
• Experience within the payments industry is not required, but experience within a technology environment is a huge plus
• You have experience communicating complex technical and non-technical information in an understandable way to a wide audience, including internal and external teams
• You are detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work independently
• You are a team player who enjoys collaborating with others and contributing to the success of the business

Security Culture Specialist (Tech)

The People Security team at Adyen is responsible for building a strong company-wide security culture. We do this by developing and executing security training and awareness activities; by proactively identifying and addressing new security culture risks; and by supporting other teams in managing security risks within their own processes.

We are looking for an enthusiastic security person with experience in organizing training and awareness activities focusing on tech roles (e.g., in development, infrastructure). In this role, you will help strengthen our security culture by solidifying and expanding our security training program and other security engagement activities, specifically focused on our tech colleagues. You will also support the People Security team with creation and maintenance of simple tools to support our regular operations.

What you’ll do

• Drive improvements in the maturity and scalability of Adyen’s security culture program, specifically focusing on providing training, knowledge and support for our tech roles
• Understand the challenges and security risks that different tech teams and people in Adyen face, and come up with effective solutions for how the Security Team can better support them
• Work with other teams (e.g., Tech Academy, Data Privacy, Security & IT Risk) to align training and awareness efforts
• Identify and keep us up to date on emerging information security risks and come up with practical ways to address them
• Create and maintain simple tools to support the team’s regular operations (e.g., Slack bot, automation scripts, dashboards)
• Measure and evaluate the impact of our security culture activities and iterate accordingly
• Contribute to the visibility and approachability of the Security Team as a whole
• Support with general security team operations, such as engaging with employees and answering their questions about broader security topics
