As a strategic sales enablement team, we drive growth and optimize sales performance within Accenture's Public Safety Portfolio. We act as strategic advisors throughout the sales cycle, supporting pre-RFP activities, crafting compelling RFP submissions, and developing solutions that resonate with diverse decision-makers. Our impact extends beyond individual deals. We contribute to portfolio-wide initiatives and develop comprehensive sales training programs, empowering the entire workforce for consistent sales success.

The work

Strategic Pipeline Development & Capture Support: Lead early-stage pipeline assessments, opportunity qualification, and strategic prioritization to ensure a healthy, insights-driven pipeline across the Public Safety portfolio. Participate in and in some cases lead Capture activities—including opportunity shaping, stakeholder mapping, teaming strategy coordination, and pre-RFP engagement support—to increase win probability and strengthen pursuit readiness.
AI‑Enabled Sales & Growth Acceleration: Identify and implement AI tools, workflows, and automations that enhance sales productivity, improve proposal quality, and accelerate pipeline movement. Use AI-driven analytics to surface emerging trends, competitor insights, and whitespace opportunities. Introduce AI‑based content development, generative proposal drafting, and automated market intelligence capabilities.
Strategic Sales Support: Act as a trusted advisor, supporting pre-RFP activities, crafting compelling RFP submissions, and developing tailored solutions that address the unique needs of diverse decision-makers.
Portfolio-Wide Impact: Contribute to cross-portfolio growth initiatives for business expansion and develop comprehensive sales training programs to enhance the overall sales capabilities of the workforce and drive consistent success.
Comprehensive Sales Operations Support: Leverage expertise in pipeline management, deal tracking, portfolio strategy analysis, and daily deal searches using tools like Sam.Gov and GovWin to maintain a robust sales pipeline and keep account sales leaders aware of client priorities and emerging opportunities.
Market Analysis and Insights: Provide actionable insights and growth recommendations based on in-depth market analysis, competitive intelligence, and client research.
Acquisition Lifecycle Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of the federal government acquisition lifecycle, including acquisition trends, and provide strategic recommendations to clients for RFP shaping.
Value Proposition Content Development: Articulate the value of Accenture's services through compelling sales materials such as Whitepapers, POVs, and client presentations.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Build strong relationships with account leadership and subject matter experts across cybersecurity, digital platforms, cloud, applied intelligence and more.

What you need:

3 - 5 years professional experience
Proficiency with core tools/processes used on federal engagements (e.g., MS Office, documentation/workflow standards); for tech support roles, workstation (PC/Mac) and Windows support capability.
Ability to travel up to 25% as needed.

As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Washington, Vermont, the District of Columbia, and the city of Cleveland. The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. The pay range for the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Washington, Vermont, the District of Columbia, and the city of Cleveland is:

$69,900—$153,000 USD

You Are:

The Business Development Director (Justice) role is accountable for achieving pipeline, sales, and business development efficiency results that meet or exceed assigned targets – this includes capturing large competitive deals and smaller strategic wedge opportunities. The BDD is responsible for identifying and engaging on strategic opportunities, building client relationships, and driving new capabilities into their target accounts.

Expected to continuously learn and demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Accenture Federal Services offerings and services, financial drivers and constraints, and develop and maintain both industry and client relationships.
This position will provide Business Development support for the Department of Justice within Accenture Federal Services

Here's What You Need:

Successful sales experience as a Business Development Director in the federal marketplace
Experience using formal sales capture processes
Experience in one or more of the following: Consulting Services, Business Process Outsourcing, or Information Technology solutions, services, and markets including knowledge of competitive offerings
Experience in relevant (i.e., Federal, State/Local Government) acquisition processes, procedures, and laws
High energy level, sense of urgency, decisiveness and ability to work well under pressure
Experience in managing sales pipeline, forecasting, and winning work
Previous experience in conceptualizing, planning, and implementing new products or services for a large business entity
Strong leadership, problem solving, and decision-making abilities
Ability to interface and negotiate with senior executives

Experience within Federal Justice and Law Enforcement Clients
Strong facilitation and communication skills – both written and verbal
