Role Overview
We are looking for an Associate – IT Strategy & TMO who brings strong strategy and consulting expertise to drive technology transformation and strengthen IT operating practices.
This is a strategy-focused role, not a coordination role. The ideal candidate will bring consulting rigor, structured problem-solving, and industry best practices to IT strategy initiatives. You will work across transformation programs, operating models, portfolio governance, and executive reporting to help leadership make informed, strategic decisions.
The role requires someone who can analyze, structure, challenge, and deliver—rather than simply track activities and report status.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
1. Technology Transformation
- Drive transformation program tracking with a strong focus on business outcomes, value realization, and strategic objectives, beyond traditional milestone tracking.
- Conduct current-state assessments to identify gaps, opportunities, risks, and improvement areas.
- Consolidate inputs across multiple workstreams and translate them into clear, actionable narratives for senior leadership.
- Proactively identify and manage risks, dependencies, and cross-functional challenges before they become escalations.
- Develop and maintain transformation frameworks, playbooks, and reusable methodologies based on industry best practices.
2. IT Operating Model
- Support the evolution of the IT operating model in line with changing business and technology strategies.
- Develop and maintain living operating-model documentation that accurately reflects how IT functions operate in practice.
- Benchmark operating model components against industry standards, leading organizations, and peer companies.
- Identify opportunities to improve organizational structures, governance, processes, roles, and decision-making mechanisms.
- Create reusable operating model frameworks and playbooks to support organizational scaling and restructuring.
3. Executive Reporting & Strategic Presentations
- Develop executive-level presentations that tell a compelling story and enable decision-making, rather than simply presenting data.
- Translate complex business and technology information into structured, concise, and decision-ready content.
- Prepare presentations and supporting materials for steering committees, leadership reviews, executive forums, and board-level discussions.
- Anticipate potential leadership questions and develop relevant insights, analysis, and supporting content.
- Build and maintain a library of best-in-class presentation templates and storytelling frameworks inspired by leading consulting firms and technology organizations.
4. IT Intake & Portfolio Management
- Manage and improve the IT intake process using a strategic value lens, prioritizing initiatives based on business impact and strategic alignment.
- Develop governance materials that clearly articulate investment choices, trade-offs, priorities, and recommendations for decision-makers.
- Maintain portfolio views covering capacity, investments, priorities, dependencies, and strategic alignment.
- Document intake and portfolio decisions, including the underlying rationale, to build organizational knowledge and institutional memory.
- Continuously evaluate and improve intake and governance processes based on outcomes, feedback, and lessons learned.
What You Bring
- 7–9 years of overall experience, with approximately 3–5 years in strategy consulting or corporate strategy.
- Experience with leading consulting organizations such as Deloitte, Accenture, KPMG, EY, PwC, or similar firms is preferred.
- Proven experience in technology strategy, IT strategy, IT operating model, digital transformation, or technology consulting.
- Experience working in automotive, manufacturing, or other complex, global industries is preferred.
- Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills with demonstrated ability to structure information and create compelling executive presentations.
- Understanding of key IT functions including IT governance, demand management, portfolio planning, investment management, and vendor management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to structure ambiguous problems and develop practical recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders and leadership teams.
- AI-first mindset, with hands-on use of AI tools to improve research, analysis, productivity, problem-solving, and business outcomes.
- MBA or equivalent qualification is preferred.
What Sets You Apart
- You have personally delivered strategy and transformation work, rather than only supporting others.
- You naturally apply strategy frameworks, consulting methodologies, and industry best practices to solve complex problems.
- You are comfortable challenging the status quo and identifying better ways of working.
- You understand how leading technology organizations operate and can translate those practices into practical recommendations.
- You can move seamlessly between deep analysis and executive-level storytelling.
- You are proactive, curious, outcome-oriented, and comfortable working in an environment where priorities continuously evolve.
