You will work alongside experienced engineers and gain hands-on experience testing backend services and APIs while contributing to the quality and reliability of PlayStation products.
Our QE team strives to ensure a high-quality customer experience using standard methodologies in manual and automated testing.
What you’ll be doing:
● Learn about and contribute to test strategies and automation frameworks with guidance from the team.
● Write and maintain automation scripts that help identify regressions and improve product quality.
● Contribute to functional, integration and regression testing.
● Contribute to automated testing of APIs and microservices, including working with mocks, test data and service dependencies.
● Work in an agile and collaborative environment with engineering, product, program and operations teams.
● Help identify gaps in testing and contribute to improving test coverage.
● Gain exposure to build automation and continuous integration (CI) pipelines.
● Create or improve scripts and tools that make testing more efficient.
● Learn and apply good software quality and testing practices.
● Participate in team discussions, code reviews and testing activities.
● Learn about PlayStation tools, systems and products.
What we’re looking for:
● Exposure to software development or software testing.
● Experience with automated testing tools or frameworks such as JUnit, TestNG, REST Assured, Postman or similar.
● Experience coding through coursework, personal projects or previous work experience in a language such as Java, JavaScript, Python or C#.
● Familiarity with source control, build tools or continuous integration is an asset.
● Interest in learning about API, integration and backend service testing.
● Basic familiarity with HTTP, REST APIs, JSON or similar concepts is an asset.
● Exposure to databases, SQL or validating data across backend systems is an asset.
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
● Good written and verbal communication skills.
● Interest in commerce or payment systems is a plus.
● A methodical approach and attention to detail.
● Ability to work collaboratively, ask questions and seek out information when needed.
● Ability and enthusiasm to learn new skills and technologies.
