Summary:

As a Custom Software Engineer, you will spend your day designing, coding, and improving software components tailored to meet unique business requirements. Your work will involve collaborating with Multi-cultural team members to ensure the delivery of scalable and efficient solutions. You will engage in continuous development activities, adapting to evolving project needs and contributing to the overall success of software initiatives.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Expected to perform independently and become an SME.

- Required active participation/contribution in multi-cultural team discussions.

- Contribute in providing solutions to work related problems.

- Collaborate with multi-cultural cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and deliver effective software solutions.

- Maintain and enhance existing software applications to improve performance and user experience.

- Document development processes and code changes to support knowledge sharing and future maintenance.

- Continuously update technical knowledge and skills to stay current with industry trends and best practices.

 

Professional & Technical Skills:

- Required Skill: Expert proficiency in VAST Smalltalk (or other vendor variants like VisualWorks by Cincom, Opensourec such as Pharos, Squeak, etc). Secondary skill of Java Enterprise Edition or C++.

- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.

- Experience with application servers and deployment of enterprise applications.

- Familiarity with relational databases and writing efficient queries.

- Knowledge of web services and RESTful API development.

- Ability to troubleshoot and optimize code for performance and scalability.

 

Additional Information:

- The candidate should have minimum 2 years of experience in Java Enterprise Edition.

- This position is based at our Manila office
