As a Manager, Study Start Up at ICON, you will lead and oversee the start-up activities for clinical trials, ensuring that all processes are completed efficiently and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
What You Will Do:
You will manage day-to-day site start-up and activation activities, supporting your team to deliver quality outcomes.
Core Responsibilities
- Build strong working relationships with investigative sites and support a positive sponsor-site experience throughout start-up.
- Collect, review, QC, and file essential documents required for submission and activation.
- Review and negotiate ICF changes with sites and stakeholders; manage translations, checklists, filing, and amendment updates as required.
- Ensure REB submissions are made and approval documentation is complete and activation-ready.
- Support Health Canada-related follow-up steps, including NOL and CTSI workflow coordination.
- Collaborate with sites and internal stakeholders to set and achieve Regulatory Greenlight (RGL) goals that support timely site activation.
- Escalate risks, manage timelines, and maintain accurate documentation and tracking in systems such as CTMS and the eTMF.
Your Profile:
You will have solid site start-up and activation experience, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Required qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline or healthcare-related field
- Clinical trial start-up experience in a site-facing or dedicated site role.
- Solid understanding of ICH GCP, TCPS-2, Quebec/provincial REB requirements, and the Health Canada submissions process.
- Fluency in English and French Canadian.
- Experience with essential document collection, QC, and filing.
- Experience with ICF review, negotiation, and amendment management.
- Experience with Canadian REB submissions and approval workflows, including Health Canada coordination steps.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills within a sponsor-partner operating model involving ICON.
