Job Description:

The SHEQ Business Partner (Projects) will support major project delivery activities across the UK, Ireland and international locations. Reporting into the SHEQ leadership team, you will act as the lead SHEQ professional for large-scale power generation, engineering and construction projects, partnering with senior stakeholders to ensure the highest standards of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ), regulatory compliance, risk management and operational excellence.

The successful candidate will bring substantial experience in engineering, project delivery and operational management, combined with deep expertise in CDM, high-risk environments and international project execution. This is not an entry-level SHEQ position. You will be a trusted advisor to senior leaders, project teams and clients, influencing strategic decisions and driving a world-class safety culture across a diverse international portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead SHEQ strategy and compliance across large-scale UK and international projects.

• Act as the CDM and project SHEQ subject matter expert, ensuring legal and organisational compliance.

• Review and approve critical SHEQ documentation, risk assessments and project plans.

• Conduct audits, assurance reviews and contractor assessments across project sites.

• Support major bids and tenders, providing commercial SHEQ guidance.

• Coach and influence senior stakeholders to drive a positive SHEQ culture and improve performance.

• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action planning.

• Support delivery of long-term safety and sustainability objectives.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• 10-15+ years' experience in SHEQ, engineering, project delivery or operational leadership roles.

• Extensive experience within high-risk industries, construction, infrastructure, power generation or heavy engineering.

• Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001.

• Proven track record supporting complex, multi-million-pound projects.

• Experience managing SHEQ performance across contractors, supply chains and international projects.

• NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and IOSH membership (CMIOSH preferred).

• Excellent stakeholder management, leadership and influencing skills.
