Sobre esta vaga de Senior Media Buyer na Purely Optimal Inc.
ABOUT THE COMPANY
Purely Optimal is a profitable, category-leading supplement brand that built its business on Amazon. Amazon still converts beautifully — what it no longer does is find us new customers cheaply. We are building the demand engine off it, and this is the seat that runs the paid side of that engine.
This is a hands-on-keyboard role. You will live in Meta Ads (and other platforms as needed) Manager every day, spend a real monthly testing budget, build the funnels that traffic lands on, and prove with numbers what is working.
You are not managing a department and you are not setting company marketing strategy — direction comes from above you. Your job is to execute it exceptionally well and tell us the truth about the results.
What You Own
- Meta, first and above everything. This is the priority channel and where you will spend the overwhelming majority of your time. Campaign structure, audiences, budgets, bidding, placements, scaling and cutting. TikTok, Google, and YouTube follow as the numbers justify them, and we want someone who has run them before.
- The ad spend. You are given a monthly budget and you decide how to allocate it inside that budget — across campaigns, audiences, creatives and offers. You are accountable for what that money returns.
- Creative volume and testing. You brief the angles, hooks and formats, and our content team produces them. You are never creative-starved, but you are responsible for testing volume being high, refresh cadence being fast, and losers being killed quickly.
- Content posting and organic support. Publishing and scheduling paid-social content, keeping the ad account stocked, and making sure what runs organically and what runs paid support each other rather than drifting apart.
- Funnels and landing pages. Landing pages, advertorials, quiz and intake flows, upsell paths and bundle offers. You architect and ship these with design and copy support behind you. Shipped, not commissioned.
- Tracking that actually fires. Pixels, conversion API, server-side events and UTM discipline. If tracking breaks you notice before we do. If we cannot measure something, you tell us plainly rather than reporting a number you know is soft.
- The weekly numbers. A simple weekly report we actually run — spend, results, what you tested, what you learned, what you are doing next. Written down so knowledge compounds instead of living in your head.
What You Do Not Own
- The marketing P&L. You own the performance of the budget you are given. You do not own company marketing economics, budget size, or channel-level resource allocation.
- Marketing strategy and brand direction. That sits with the Head of Marketing Growth and our strategic advisor. You contribute your view — we want it — but you are not the person setting it.
- The leadership meeting. You are not in the weekly. You will have a direct working cadence with the Head of Marketing Growth instead.
- People management. Nobody reports to you. No hiring, no firing, no performance reviews.
- Amazon. Listings, internal PPC, catalog SEO and inventory stay with our Head of Amazon.
- Creative production. You brief and set the standard. Our content and design team produces.
The Team You Work With
Not under you — alongside you. These functions already exist and already run. You are plugged into them, and you brief them rather than manage them.

The Numbers You Work To
You are not being asked to build our company attribution model. You are being asked to understand these numbers, work on them daily, and never report one you cannot defend.

How we read those numbers. Amazon ad spend measurably lifts organic ranking and organic sales, so a dollar of PPC buys paid sales and organic lift at the same time. Netting paid spend against paid revenue alone misses that entirely, and a headline ROAS can be completely real while being badly distorted by the window it was measured in. We judge on blended — total spend against total revenue — and we expect you to be the person who insists on it.
The scientist test. You know what your sample actually supports. You can tell a real result from a lucky week. You say “that test failed, here is what it taught us” on a Tuesday rather than saving a deck of wins for the quarter. We would genuinely rather hear the former.
How You Use AI
This matters to us and it is not a box-tick. We are putting AI to work across the business and we expect this seat to use it heavily.
- In your daily workflow. Creative variants, hooks, scripts, ad copy, landing page copy, competitor research and data analysis — fast enough that your testing volume goes up rather than sideways.
- You know the landscape. Not “I use ChatGPT sometimes.” You know the current tools, what they are good at, where they fail, and how they change the economics of testing.
- You tell us what to automate. We have a team that builds internal AI tooling and workflows. Tell us what should be automated in your week and they will build it with you.
One hard guardrail: this is a supplement business. No AI avatars and no AI testimonials on health claims, ever. Real human UGC only. Everything else — hooks, thumbnails, headlines, page copy, creative variants — you run without approval, because test velocity is the point of this seat.
Requirements
Who You Are
- 3–5+ years running paid acquisition for DTC or ecommerce brands, with numbers you can walk us through.
- Deep on Meta specifically. You have managed meaningful monthly spend and can talk specifics: account structure and why, creative refresh cadence, what you do when CPMs move against you, how you diagnose a campaign that broke overnight, how you scale a winner without killing it.
- A funnel builder. Landing pages, advertorials, quiz flows, upsell paths — shipped with your own hands.
- Direct response instinct. You understand why people click, opt in and buy. Hooks, mechanisms, proof, offer construction.
- Competitive intelligence as a habit. You pull competitor ad libraries, tear down their funnels, and turn that into tests rather than observations.
- Genuinely data-honest. Every call ties back to a number, and you flag when a figure is lying.
- Self-directed. You bring the plan and own the outcome. You do not wait to be told this week's priority.
- Clear communicator in English, written and spoken. You write things down.
- Preferable: supplements, health or wellness experience; or having sold alongside an Amazon business.
Not a fit:
- Brand-and-aesthetics people with no commercial instinct.
- Anyone whose answer to every problem is “spend more.”
- People who need perfect conditions before they can make progress this week.
- Anyone who has only ever run ads inside an agency template without owning results.
Benefits
Terms
- Engagement: full-time contractor.
- Location: Vancouver preferably. Remote, Latin America preferred for time zone overlap with our team. Other regions considered for exceptional candidates in compatible time zones.
- Compensation: competitive, based on experience, with a performance component tied to results.
- Resources: a real monthly testing budget from day one, the creative engine, the creator roster, and design and copy support.
- Where it leads: if you build this and the economics hold, the function grows around you — more channels, more budget, and more scope. We would rather promote the person who proved it than hire someone above them.
