Job Overview

Wargaming Kyiv is looking for a Game Designer to join the World of Tanks team and take ownership of complex game features, with a primary focus on late game such as Clans and Ranked/Competitive modes.

Reports to

Lead Game Designer

What will you do?

• Own features end-to-end: from problem definition and design through implementation, release, analysis, and further iteration.
• Design and develop metagame and core gameplay systems.
• Collaborate closely with development, analytics, UX, UI, art, level design, and other game design teams.
• Use player behavior, statistics, research, and live-game data to validate assumptions and drive design decisions.

What are we looking for?

• 2+ years of professional Game Design experience.
• Proven experience with feature ownership. You should be comfortable taking responsibility for a large feature rather than only contributing to individual parts of it.
• Strong generalist Game Design skills, with particular experience designing and documenting large, interconnected systems.
• Strong understanding of metagame systems, progression, competitive modes, social/clan systems, or other long-term player engagement mechanics.
• Strong understanding of F2P game design and the relationship between core gameplay, metagame, progression, and long-term engagement.
• Ability to work within an established live product, including its technical, design, production, and legacy constraints.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with multiple disciplines and stakeholders.

What additional skills will help you stand out?

• Significant hands-on experience with World of Tanks.
• Experience designing clan/social systems, ranked or competitive modes, endgame systems, progression, or other complex metagame features.
• Experience with data-driven game development: defining metrics, working with analytics, evaluating feature performance, and iterating based on data.
• Experience with Live Ops and post-release feature development.
• Experience developing and iterating features in established live-service/F2P games.
• Experience with prototyping and rapid iteration.

Work mode

• Hybrid (3 days of work from the office) // Remote (from anywhere within Ukraine).
• This role isn't eligible for relocation & immigration support.
