Job Role: Senior Accountant (AU Tax)
Compensation range: $2,000 AUD - $3,000 AUD/Month
Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement
Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Role Overview: Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with strong knowledge of the Australian tax system and the technical capability to manage tax compliance work from start to finish.
The successful candidate will work in a preparer capacity, taking ownership of tax compliance matters and managing client communication, with final reviews completed by an onshore partner. Experience with Xero and AI-powered accounting tools is highly regarded.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Australian tax compliance work from preparation through to completion.
- Prepare tax returns and related compliance requirements accurately and within deadlines.
- Review financial information and supporting documentation required for tax compliance.
- Manage email correspondence and respond to client queries professionally.
- Maintain accurate client records and ensure documentation is complete and up to date.
- Work closely with the onshore partner to address review comments and finalise client work.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting and compliance workflows through technology and AI.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong experience working within the Australian tax system.
- Proven ability to independently prepare and manage tax compliance work from start to finish.
- Senior-level accounting experience with strong technical knowledge.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines independently.
- Ability to handle client correspondence and queries professionally.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple client matters.

- Client matters are progressed efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Clear and professional communication with clients and the onshore partner.
