We are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to support new product development, quality planning, and product launch activities across various manufacturing processes. The role will work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Control, suppliers, and customers where required to ensure products meet defined quality, engineering, and project requirements.
The position will be responsible for developing quality plans, ensuring the flow-down of product specifications and documented instructions, supporting FAI/PPAP activities, and driving Right First Time (RFT) performance throughout the product development and manufacturing lifecycle.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Quality Plans for products, sub-assemblies, and assemblies in line with project requirements.
- Support New Product Development (NPD) for in-house manufacturing and suppliers across fabrication, forging, machining, sheet metal, injection molding, casting, rubber, sub-assemblies, and standard BOPs.
- Drive APQP, FAI, and PPAP activities to support successful product launches and achieve Right First Time performance.
- Provide Quality Control teams with necessary quality plans, work instructions, product specifications, inspection requirements, and other technical documentation.
- Participate in new product launches and ensure timely FAI/PPAP approvals and completion of required documentation.
- Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering to implement engineering and process changes and ensure all related quality documents are updated.
- Handle product non-conformances and support root-cause analysis and effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Apply quality improvement methodologies such as CAPA, GD&T, 7 QC Tools, SPC, MSA, Poka-Yoke, 5S, Kaizen, and PFMEA.
- Ensure appropriate inspection and testing requirements are defined for special processes, including heat treatment and surface treatment.
- Support the quality function through effective implementation and adherence to applicable quality standards and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical requirements accurately to establish appropriate inspection and quality controls.
- Work with relevant teams to ensure product and process requirements are consistently understood and implemented.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- 3+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Strong practical experience in NPD, APQP, FAI, PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, MSA, and CAPA.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes such as fabrication, forging, machining, sheet metal, casting, injection molding, rubber, and sub-assembly.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation.
- Hands-on experience in handling non-conformances, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of inspection and testing requirements for special processes, including heat treatment and surface treatment.
- Familiarity with quality inspection equipment and techniques such as CMM, magnetic particle inspection, hardness testing, video measuring systems, contour tracing, and mechanical/chemical testing.
- Good understanding of Quality Management Systems and applicable quality standards.
- Strong coordination and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Control, suppliers, and customers.
- A structured, detail-oriented approach with a strong focus on quality, process compliance, and Right First Time delivery.
