We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Architect / Technical Architect to define and drive the technical vision for a scalable, secure, and high-performance Patient Access Platform. This is a senior technical leadership role for an architect with deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, distributed systems, microservices, cloud-native architecture, and enterprise SaaS platforms.
The role will focus on building modern, resilient technology solutions that can support complex healthcare workflows and large-scale enterprise requirements. You will provide architectural direction while working closely with engineering, product, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
- Define and drive the technical vision, architecture, and long-term technology roadmap for the platform.
- Design scalable, secure, resilient, and cloud-native multi-tenant SaaS architectures.
- Lead platform modernization, scalability, performance optimization, and reliability initiatives.
- Establish architecture standards, engineering principles, development practices, and technical governance.
- Drive adoption of microservices, event-driven architecture, API-first design, and cloud-native technologies.
- Design and review distributed systems capable of supporting high-volume enterprise workloads.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, QA, DevOps, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Provide technical leadership through architecture reviews, design discussions, and technical decision-making.
- Mentor architects, technical leads, senior engineers, and engineering teams.
- Promote automation, observability, continuous delivery, and engineering excellence.
- Guide teams in improving application performance, availability, scalability, and security.
- Ensure appropriate application and platform security practices, including adherence to OWASP best practices.
- Drive effective use of monitoring, logging, tracing, and observability practices.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI-enabled solutions and AI-assisted software development practices.
- Support technical planning, risk management, and architectural decision-making across major initiatives.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- 15+ years of software engineering experience with significant experience in architecture and technical leadership.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
- Proven experience designing and implementing distributed systems, microservices, and enterprise SaaS applications.
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, Kafka, event-driven architecture, and API-first design.
- Experience with databases and distributed data technologies such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
- Strong expertise in AWS, including services such as EC2, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, and IAM.
- Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, monitoring, and observability.
- Deep understanding of scalability, performance engineering, reliability, security, and enterprise architecture.
- Strong knowledge of cloud-native design principles and modern software engineering practices.
- Proven ability to make architectural decisions and communicate technical trade-offs effectively.
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor technical leaders and build high-performing engineering teams.
- Experience working in Agile development environments and delivering complex enterprise platforms.
- Experience in Healthcare SaaS, Patient Access, or Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) is highly desirable.
- Exposure to AI-enabled products, AI-assisted development, enterprise workflow platforms, analytics, or data engineering is an advantage.
