A family owned, founder led company (70+ employees, training and consumer products space) is hiring a People Operations Manager. This is a department of one, supported by a PEO for benefits and payroll infrastructure.
Fully onsite, five days a week.
Core Responsibilities
- Direct employee relations: coaching employees and managers through performance issues, conflict, and disengagement
- Coaching and developing managers
- Owning performance review cycles end to end
- Designing and running onboarding, including a 30/60/90 framework
- Full cycle recruiting for headquarters and field roles
- Personally executing payroll each cycle, auditing timecards and PTO, reconciling data
- Owning benefits communication and enrollment timing with the PEO
- Planning and delivering company wide events (retreat, all hands, year end celebration)
- Owning engagement and recognition programming
- Partnering with leadership on automating and improving people processes
Requirements
Required
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years progressive HR or People Operations experience
- Background in education, fitness, retail, ecommerce, or another mission driven organization
- Has been the entire HR/people function at a 40 to 200 person organization
- Personally run payroll (3+ years preferred, multi-state a plus)
- PEO model experience
- Direct, hands on employee relations experience
- Full cycle recruiting experience (sourced, screened, and closed candidates)
- Comfortable adopting new systems and technology quickly and independently
Preferred
- Experience supporting a non-desk workforce
- Experience planning company wide events
- HRIS ownership experience
- Experience improving or automating HR processes; familiarity with AI-assisted tools
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP

- Base salary: $100,000 to $125,000, depending on experience
